Nonna Nerina is actually 82 years young. We started to take classes about the handmade pasta when we realized it was a technique that was disappearing. In the last two years we had travelers form all around the world joining us to cook and share their tradition. Making handmade pasta is not just cooking, it is the expression of an entire community.
We are a family from a small village in the North part of Rome, a land known for its organic cultures and its wonderful medieval castle: Palombara Sabina.
Our village is 30 minutes...
Me and my boyfriend came to this cooking class today and it was absolutely brilliant!!!! Valeria was so nice and welcoming from start to finish! Great communication before the class send us good instructions to get to the class and also emailed train tickets We enjoyed every second cooking and eating with nonna who was just great! Met some great people also! Food and wine was to die for! Will definitely be stopping by again when we are next in rome! If you want a true italian experience look no further Thankyou so much for having us Lucy xxxxx
On a beaucoup aimé la leçon de cuisine. L accueil était formidable et la leçon très bien organisée. On garde un super souvenir. On a l impression d avoir vécu un moment exceptionnel.
Timely pickup, informative tour, excellent hands-on experience. The best Italian food we had during our visit to Italy. Felt like family sitting around the dinner table❤️
This was such a brilliant experience from start to finish. We booked this on our honeymoon to Rome and had a brilliant evening including a tour of the local area, olive oil tasting in a special part of the house, delicious bruschetta, wine tasting and making two types of pasta from scratch. They were so welcoming and we felt like part of the family when we left. We made fettuccine paired with a ragu sauce and Ravioli with a delicious oil and a glass of wine. I would really recommend booking this and getting a taster of life in the Italian countryside and cooking with a lovely, welcoming Italian family. Thank you!
This class was truly fantastic. We immediately felt so welcomed by this amazing family, and it felt far more special to learn these culinary traditions in a home environment. Our class ranged from complete beginners to experienced pasta makers, and they tailored the instruction to each of us perfectly. And the food we prepared was absolutely delicious. Such a wonderful experience!
This class was definitely one of the main highlights in Italy. They really make you feel as if you’re apart of the family. With the help from the family, the pasta comes out amazing and you have a blast making it. From the hilarious conversations you have to the stories you hear, it’s really a great fun time. The town that you visit is so beautiful and really an experience you can’t forget. I would encourage any one to take this pasta class because honestly it is one of the best in Italy.
The experience was simply amazing! We felt like family from the moment we walked through the door. It was like going to grandma’s house and celebrating life with the whole family — making delicious food, sharing wine, and laughing together. Can’t wait to get the recipes!
Our group of 6 including 2 teens had the best time cooking with Nonna and her family. The walk through the streets of the old town was lovely and the class was not only fun, but informative. I can’t wait to make fresh pasta when I get home. Nonna, her sister and her grand dgt were so friendly. We all felt as if we were being welcomed into their home. Of course, the eating of the pasta was the icing on the cake. An all around great experience. Would do it again. Thanks! Phyllis Ritchie
This class was the perfect pasta making class. The family environment added to the fact that the teachers are family sets this class apart from others I’ve taken. By the end of the class all guests and teachers felt like family. This class taught me skills I will use regularly in my home. I’m excited to get home and make pasta.
Me and my husband went on this pasta making course a few days ago and it was amazing. Valeria met us at the train station and drove us to the village a short journey away. Valeria spoke very good english and made us feel very welcome. When we arrived we had a little wonder in the lovely village and Valeria told us a little about the history. We arrived at the house in which we was to make pasta and it was beautiful! They have a lovely set up with a big kitchen table and room for everyone. Valeria Aunty was teaching us with the help of Valeria translation. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! They made us feel like part of the family with lots of wine and fantastic food. You dont need to be an amazing cook to go, just like good food and company! This really made our Rome trip. Totally different to the normal and definitely once in a lifetime experience! Do not go to Rome without visiting! Thank you so so much!
We were treated like family throughout the whole “experience”. Train tickets were purchased and sent by email for us. We were greeted by the most lovely members of the family (especially Valeria!!!) at the train platform and taken by car to the most wonderful Medieval Village (think full on G.O.T.!!!). After a quick tour we met the two Nona’s and had the most joyful couple of hours. We made three hand-made pastas (after sampling some wine, bread and oil in the most beautiful setting). Then we sat down to eat and talk. Great for the “master chefs” amongst us as well as the kids. Just a wonderful experience- thank you so much!! These guys have really got this day well planned. Big thanks to the lovely Valeria and Love to the Nona’s!!
This was probably the best thing we did in Italy! A dream came true for me to learn recipes from an Italian Nonna! Hihgly recommended!
