Taking a cooking class in a private home is a fantastic way to dive into Italy’s food culture. Classes are held daily in the morning, in English by Chef Clara: she is an enthusiastic Italian foodie in her mid-forties, a Le Cordon Bleu graduate, an experienced Italian cookery teacher and a certified sommelier. She loves to cook and has shared her passion for food and wine with people from all over the world for many years. Her aim is to combine teaching cookery with the traditions, habits and customs of the Italian way of life. We meet in the morning in Clara’s typical Italian home for a chat about the menu of the day:four traditional Italian recipes, depending on the season and availability of ingredients in the local market. Then it’s time to “wash your hands”, tie on your apron and come into the kitchen to cook a complete traditional Italian meal together.

We start by preparing a home-made pasta, risotto or gnocchi; then a main dish (meat, fish or vegetables) and a dessert (tiramisù, fruit or chocolate cake, gelato or panna cotta); accompanied by two excellent Italian wines and a fantastic Italian espresso coffee. Vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten free menus are also available upon request. All ingredients are of first-class quality, 100% Italian, fresh, organic and available worldwide wherever you live. The aim of the school is to teach you how to prepare the meal yourself from the antipasto to the coffee, so that you can repeat it in future for your family and friends, a very special souvenir to take home! After two-and-a-half hours of fun in the kitchen, the moment finally comes to taste the results of our teamwork, sitting around the table in a typical Italian dining room to eat what we have prepared, and drink Italian wine selected by our sommelier, who will explain the wine and the reasons for the choice/pairing. At the end of the morning, you will receive a genuine Italian cooking diploma and printed recipe booklet, a souvenir that will last a lifetime!
