Our day starts with visiting the local market to buy fresh ingredients. You’ll get a feel for real Chinese culture as you experience its rich colors, unique flavors and smells, and learn about all the different kinds of local vegetables, mushrooms, fruits and snacks. Then we go back to our kitchen, which is set up on an open-roof terrace with a beautiful mountain view.
Known as jiaozi in Mandarin Chinese dumplings are beautiful dough ‘skins’ or ‘pockets’ heartily stuffed with delicious meat, fish and vegetables.
We will learn how to make dumpling from scratch. We will take you step by step through the process, from kneading the dough, making fillings, practicing how to assemble the dumpling, cooking them to making the accompanying dipping sauce. All-prep work and cooking are hands-on experiences in a relaxing and social atmosphere. With a big sense of achievement, we then sit together to enjoy our meal. At the end of the class, you will get a booklet that contains the recipes for all the steps we did together.
