About

Matcha is a finely grounded powdered green tea, made from tea leaves shade-grown for about 3 weeks before the harvest and the stems and veins are removed in processing. Traditionally Matcha used in ceremonies to serve in a meditative style, but modern days now Matcha has come to be used to flavor and dye foods such as mochi, ice cream, a variety of Japanese wagashi confectionery.

Kookai Cooking Studio is pleased to launch the program called " Matcha Delight ", which consists of making Matcha Jelly meets with Dango(sweet rice balls), Dorayaki(red-bean pancake), a bean-jam pancake with Matcha whip, and Ichigo Matcha Daifuku, a matcha flavored mochi stuffed with sweet bean paste. Of course we are using the best quality of Matcha products from Kinoshita chaen(one of the oldest tea store). Join us to have unique Matcha Wonder Power experience.

"Fantastic!"

Yumi is a fun-loving and passionate teacher who has selflessly shared so much with me on cooking Japanese cuisine beside Matcha Delight. She didn’t mind at all even when we had exceeded the time duration of the class. She is flexible and teach me using the kind of tools I have at home so that I can replicate it more easily when I go home. Would love to come back again for her other courses!

My husband and I took Yumi class during our vacation in Tokyo. At the beginning we thought it was a class of students but it was one on one which we loved! Very private and intimate. Yumi our instructor was very sweet and helpful. We would defiantly recommend her class to anyone coming to Tokyo and looking for a cooking class.
