In this cooking experience, you will learn how to prepare classic Japanese cuisine using a great selection of Japanese local ingredients. You'll discover how to shop and eat like a local.
Yukari, your host, spends a lot of her time at markets - from farmer's markets to international gourmet markets. She believes that ingredients are the most important part of cooking, not your skill. So you must have a market you trust with fresh produce. To begin this experience, Yukari will take you to a market she truly trusts here in Tokyo, one that is known for their fresh produce, a wide selection of ingredients, and their customer care.
Once back at the cooking studio, you'll learn more about the ingredients that create the fundamentals of Japanese cooking. Yukari will also explain why wagyu is so special, how to recognize fresh fish, and much more. Finally, you'll cook all the dishes following the chef's directions before you get to eat everything made in the class.
The goal for this experience is for you to learn how to confidently choose high-quality ingredients back home and be able to re-create this class menu for your family and friends.
