Federico's kitchen is a magical place filled with smells and tastes from the traditional Italian kitchen.

Federico's knowledge has been passed down to him from the generation above him. During the class, you'll learn all the secrets to traditional Italian cooking: turn a simple egg into a real dish starting from scratch. Make a dough by hand and learn how to shape 3 different types of pasta. To complete the dish you'll make sauces to accompany the pasta, its filling, and sauces. There is no meal without a great dessert that's why we will make also my Mum's famous tiramisu following her own recipe.

After the class, you'll enjoy a locally sourced aperitivo including cold cuts, cheeses, and dishes that follow recipes that have equally been in the family for generations. The main dish will be shared in the modern and big living room. To create the perfect mood the dishes will be eaten from porcelain dishes, nice wine glasses, and candles.

The meal will be accompanied by an educational wine tasting of some of the best Italian wines. Discover the story behind each bottle, its producer and the perfect combinations with food. The tasting will selection of the best grapes of Italy; Pinot noir, Pinot Grey, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Lambrusco.

"Federico was very welcoming"

The house smelled delicious when we arrived. He was definitely a good cook and most of the things he prepared were taught to him by his grandmother. There was a lovely selection of appetizers waiting for us when we arrived. We came quite hungry. We learned how to make three kinds of homemade pasta’s with three kinds of sauces. The tiramisu we made was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. We were served lovely regional wines with our appetizers and dinner....which was served by candlelight in the living room. We left with all the recipes, leftovers and other recommendations for great food experiences during our stay in Bologna. This is a great value and a memorable experience

"Great choice for relatively quick cooking experience"

Within 3 hours you'll get to know how to make perfect pasta (tortellini, tagliatelle, macaroni), tortellini filling and perfect Tiramisu! Federico welcomes you with some appetizers, wine and quick engagement into making pasta while carefully explaining every step. Don't worry! There is no need to take notes, Federico will send it to you afterwards. As there was only me and my girlfriend, after all of the preparations there was a time for a romantic dinner with candles and bottle of wine :) Hint: It is good to start your stay in Bologna with this experience cause Federico will be happy to give you some advice about what's worth seeing/eating in the city :) He is organizing food trips as well to show you best spots.

"Our whole Bologna experience was amazing, because of Federico"

We went to cook with him on Saturday evening, and, until we left, on Monday, we tried most of the things and places he recommended. You can tell he's a true Bologna local, as he helped us with restaurant reservations and trips, all while teaching us amazing recipes, which had us so hooked, we bought pasta tools for back home. The setting was amazing, the personalisation, especially for smaller groups, is perfect, and you can genuinely tell when someone enjoys food and Bologna, because they give this feeling to you, as well. When we will visit Bologna again, we will surely pass by Federico's, and ask him to teach us all the recipes he knows.

Federico and his wife were very warm and welcoming. Federico allowed us to participate in every step of the pasta making process, and we ended up making three different types of pasta. During the class we were also given a meat and cheese platter to enjoy, along with wine. He also showed us how to make his family’s recipe for Tiramisu. He took photos of us during the class as well so we will be able to revisit these memories in the future. At the end, he provided us with the recipes we used so that we can make the dishes at home. We learned a lot from this class and we are looking forward to replicating the recipes for dinner very soon! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

"The host was super friendly and welcoming!"

Great pasta making experience, although we didn't get to take part in the final step of actually cooking the pasta we made and mixing them with the sauce - the host did that part for us. He also provided great recommendations for Bologna and the region! Do check with the host what dishes you'll be cooking ahead to get yourself in the mood to cook!
