Designed for cultural explorers who want to experience both Vietnamese culture and gastronomy, Hoi An provided a perfect ground for exploration and discovery. This class will cover everything from scratch! From going to the market to enjoying your culinary creations at an off the beaten track bamboo oasis with pools and coconut-leaf lodgings. The class, designed by veterans of Hoi An tourism industry, are the efforts to bring the soul back to the land by employing returning locals to introduce the once-lost town to travellers.

A scroll through Hoi An market will leave you with lots of interesting facts, useful bargain tips and of course, fresh ingredients for the cooking session. After picking up the ingredients, nothing beats a calm boat ride in the glittering Thu Bon River.

Before starting the cooking session, you'll learn how to make lanterns yourself instead of buying them. It's a truly rewarding activity. In the end, you'll bring home a lovely souvenir and some local craft techniques. 

Have you ever seen a stone mill? You'll learn how to grind rice flour with it the old-fashioned way! 

Three dishes, three locations; at the tranquil ecolodge, underneath slow-swaying bamboo groves, and near the swimming pool (you may also take a short break at the pool).  

The host can pick you up and drop you off from anywhere in Hoi An.

Schedule

• 08:00 am: Pick-up from hotel
• 08:45 am: Local market tour to purchase fresh ingredients.
• 09:15 am: Riverboat ride to the school.
• 10:00 am: Learn how to make lanterns and grind rice flour.
• 11:00 am: Start cooking class with 3 local dishes.
• 2:30 pm: Drop-off Hoi An City Center/ requested location
