Greek Cooking Class and Wine Tasting with a Sommelier

Welcome at Onion’s Wine Tasting Experience.

We are tasting five different wines from Greece. We will come across at some great examples that represent true expressions of the Greek terroir. Along the tasting you should be able to find out about Greek indigenous varieties and how they naturally pair with Greek food.

The tasting will be guided by Sommelier Vasilis Dimos. He will describe Greece’s climate and characteristics along with the factors that influence the production of Greek wines.

You will be provided with two wine glasses, and a description sheet where you can make notes and scores about the wines you taste.

At the end of the tasting you should be able:

• Have a good knowledge about Greece’s flagship varieties
• Understand how they pair with the mediterranean and Greek cuisine

* Vasilis Dimos, is a Sommelier currently at BoBo Wine Bar in Athens focusing mainly in Greek wines.

Menu

• A surprise pre-made wine cocktail and appetizer
• Fresh and delicious seasonal ingredients
• Hands-on four course, traditional Greek meal preparation
• Tasting of five different wines from Greece.

Schedule

• 5:00 pm: Introductions and wine cocktail 
• 5:30 pm: Cooking session 1 and tasting with pairing of first wine.
• 6:00 pm: Cooking session 2 
• 7:30 pm: We sit and enjoy our meal and we continue with wine tasting pairing our meal with 3 more wines
• 8:30: Dessert and last pairing of wine
• 9:00: End of cooking class and wine tasting
