Farmer Markets are put on by Slow Food groups across the world as a way of creating a network of producers to have a way to sell directly to consumers. It’s a new place for consumers and food producers to meet, and for you to buy directly from small-scale farmers and artisan producers. They promote good, clean and fair products based on the KM Zero philosophy, seasonality, and obtained with traditional processes that respect the environment and are offered at a fair price. In addition, these farmers markets preserve local food culture, and contribute to defending biodiversity and quality food, and are run for the community, by the community. If you believe in eating local, sustainable food, then come and join this particular Market Tour!
Meeting Point is at 10.00 am at our Cooking Academy from where we go to the local farmer market (5 minutes walk). After doing the grocery shopping at the market, where we meet the farmers and they explain where they live, how they produce their products, we go back to school and cook the purchased products. (We will buy everything there, exclusively biological, km zero products, also the wine). The lesson will end with a four-course lunch including appetizer, first course hand-made pasta with sauces, second course of meat and vegetables and a dessert.
