Dumpling is called "Jiaozi" in Chinese. For us, the northern Chinese, mother's dumping is the best comfort food in the world. We love to eat "Jiaozi", as the saying goes" nothing could be more delicious than Jiaozi". Making and eating "Jiaozi" means joy, happiness, and satisfaction. It reminds us of the good times we spent together with our family. We sit around to make dumplings for the new year, for a reunion, for farewell and to welcome distinguished guests who come to visit our home...

Making dumplings is a fun family activity and is a good way to socialize with friends or co-workers. Joyce and her team host dumping class since 2014, our courses are authentic, relaxing and refreshing, loved by many tourists and expats who live in Beijing. 


This place we partnered with is called Yuexuan courtyard in Dongsi and it's a popular youth hostel. The owner is a sweet Beijing lady, you will meet her. The courtyard is part of the former residence of a prince in the Qing Dynasty, more than 150 years old. Join us, to have dumpling fun!

Full course meal with beverage

Hands-on class, make your own dumplings from scratch. 
• Learn the traditional food-ways from locals who live in Beijing. 
• Chinese wine and snack tasting 

Welcome drink and water, wine/ soda/ local beer to go with meal.
We normally cook with pork, chicken, seasonal vegetables and eggs. If you have any diet preference, please contact us.

Lunch Time Class:

• 11:00 am: Meet up at the McDonald's at Exit B of Dongsi subway station  
• 11:10 am: Tour around the Hutong area, alley adventure
• 11:30 am: Make delicious dumpling from scratch
• 1:00 pm: Enjoy the meal and good time with the class
• 1:30 pm: End of the class

Dinner Time Class:

• 6:00 pm: Meet up at the McDonald's at Exit B of Dongsi subway station 
• 6:20 am: Tour around the Hutong area, alley adventure
• 7:00 am: Make delicious dumpling from scratch
• 7:30 pm: Enjoy the meal and good time with the class
• 8:30 pm: End of the class
