In this cooking class, learn what makes British food British. Seasonal ingredients, meat forward and snout to tail cooking, use of local produce while incorporating global techniques— this is what contemporary Great Britain’s kitchens are all about. Our chefs will pay homage to centuries-old dishes while bringing them up-to-date with modern techniques— think swapping out pie and mash for pork belly and seasonal sunchoke puree. In this class, you will learn to make dishes worthy of any London gastropub.

Capture the essence of contemporary British cuisine and take the techniques home with you. Each class includes:

Each Modern British cooking class ends with a delicious lunch and carefully chosen wine pairings. You will gather around our communal dining table to enjoy what you and your fellow classmates have cooked using your newly acquired knowledge.

Menu

Please be informed that our chefs adapt the menu for each class according to the market offer and the dietary requirements of the participants. This is only a sample menu:

• Wye Valley Asparagus (with curried emulsion and hazelnut crumble)
• Dressed Devon Crab (with pickled fennel, smoked tomato stock and nasturtium)
• Aged Beef Sirloin Steak (with mustard mousse and purple sprouting broccoli)
• Poached Yorkshire Rhubarb (with vanilla custard foam and spiced meringues)
