You will be invited to our instructor’s home studio where the class will take place. Our instructor, who speaks English fluently, will share her extensive knowledge about Japanese cuisine and let you discover the secrets of Japanese homemade dishes. Ask any question about essences of Japanese cuisine, and then enjoy delicious dishes with fellow food lovers with whom you will take the fun-filled, educational class!
Have you heard of the word “Umami”? It’s the essence of Japanese cuisine, and, in all our Musubi classes, it’s the first thing you will learn to make in any of our classes
If you become the first group to book a class, you will be able to choose a main dish. Our instructor would do her best to customize the menu according to your preferences.

I have been to a few cooking classes during my travels and this has been the best to date. Our instructor Kishy was very knowledgable and a great teacher. There were plenty of hands on activities and all the cooking was supported with detailed explanations, recipes and notes. I cannot recommend this class highly enough.
Akiko collected us from the train station and took us to her beautiful Japanese home. We didn't cook every part of every dish but divided the work amonst the participants. There was however enough space and time to watch how to cook, cut, fry or prepare each dish. At the end we ate our feast whilst Akiko discussed Japanese cooking and Japanese life. She answered all our questions and was a gracious host.
The class was great, Yuki was very knowledgeable and explained each dish. It was a great way to learn more about Japanese food!
A great experience! We learned a lot about japanese tradition, condiments and food. It was a lot of fun preparing all the little parts of the meal. In the end it dindn't just taste so good, it also looked very delicios;)
We had a wonderful experience with Kisshy in her beautiful home. Her command of English is superior, and she's a trained chef so she has the knowledge to be able to explain why were were putting combinations together. We had plenty of time and all got hands on experience in both preparation and cooking. In addition to the food, Kisshy informed us about the culture around food and eating in Japan. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
This was really one of the highlights of our month in Japan. We had an amazing time with Akiko learning how to make two of my favourites: tempura and sushi, amongst other things. There was so much food that we could barely finish it all. Along with the food, Akiko really made the experience a wonderful one as we spent 3-4 hours just chatting away about all sorts of things, we learned a lot about Japanese culture beyond just food. I would highly recommend this class to everyone!
Kisshisan was absolutely lovely and the food was easy to make and super delicious! Left feeling very happy and satisfied 😊 Her english was excellent and she did a lot of preparation beforehand so everything ran very smoothly. After we left she even sent us information about the places we were going to visit next in Japan. Definitely would recommend!!!
Loved Akiko and her knowledge of local japanese cuisine
