After the pasta making class, there will be a transfer waiting to get you to the Minardi Winery in less than 5 minutes.
As soon as you arrive at the farmhouse, you will meet the winemaker of the family, Umberto, who will take you on a tour across the old vineyards, which he still takes care of with the same old farming techniques the family has been adopting for centuries. Travel into the past of the winemaking, listening to the stories and experiences of a passionate of this historic land.
Umberto will then lead you to visit the old wine cellar, where he will introduce you to the secrets and the old processes of the winemaking of the famous Frascati wine.
Time to taste the famous Frascati Wine! You will taste three wines of the family production: the famous Frascati Superiore white wine, the Vagnolo IGP red wine and a very typical product of this land, the sweet Cannellino wine. All of the wines will be paired with typical breads and pizzas, “Porchetta”, aged cheese with our Wine Jelly, and traditional wine cookies. You will also have an Oil tasting of the Minardi Family’s own Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
At the end of the wine and olive oil tasting you will be lead to the tavern in the center of Frascati to enjoy a local lunch/dinner consisting of a starter (local cheeses and meats), a first course (a plate with two varieties of homemade Pasta that you have prepared, “Gnocchi” and “Tagliolini“, wine (again!), water, espresso coffee.
At the end of the lunch you will be able to have a walk in Frascati and take the train back to Rome (there is one train every hour in the afternoon).
You will catch the train in Rome Termini Station at 8:54 am on Saturday or 9:49 am on weekdays for the morning class towards Frascati. The train ride is only 22 minutes and costs 2.20€.
