Ready for a truly amazing hands-on Spanish cooking class!? Ready for a happy time chatting, learning and drinking sangria!? If you say yes, come with us! We are Angels & Carmen, the Foodie Sisters, really happy to meet you!
We have a charming kitchen at the heart of Barcelona, 5 minutes walking distance to the Boqueria Market. We like to share; our culinary tips, our knowledge about ingredients, the table, a good conversation, a happy time and our love for Barcelona. We would like to create a good energy circle, good for the guests, good for us.

The menu are thoughtfully designed to learn the most typical paella and inspire your inner-chef to replicate the recipe at home. We intend to shake up typical tourist food offerings with an inspired, hands-on cooking class. Our philosophy? Organic, Fresh & Local. We think learning to cook local produce is not only fun, but it offers guests a deeper engagement with Catalan culture and the fantastic produce grown here. We want to live in a sustainable city, consume local products and cultivate meaningful connections with people – and dishes – in a urban environment.

Our mission is to change the view of what tourism represents for Barcelona. Today’s tourist is not a simple consumer, but more an individual person who wants to live an authentic moment in a different culture.

We cook with local products, most of them organic, using life-giving sea water in our recipes, promoting health in traditional cooking techniques, and ultimately, giving you a delicious insight into the richness of what is on our doorstep. The message is clear: enjoy the moment, with sustainable consciousness, treat the city lovingly as it fit were your home and discover something about Spanish cooking you may never have known.

"Satisfying and Insightful"

I love how the cooking class taught me a lot. It gives me opportunity to appreciate the life giving ingredients the organic, fresh and healthy. The chef who were sisters were great as well. They were so friendly and well experienced in the kitchen. I’m not a cook so the basic instructions really helped me. I made my own paella out from scratch and the combinations of ingredients were new to me yet I was surprised that I cooked a delicious and an interesting mix of flavors kind of meal! Thank you for the cooking experience! Would love to visit again soon!

"Engaging Teachers and Delicious Food"

The sisters who lead the class are so animated and have a great energy. The time passes by so quickly and there's no lull in the class. They use fresh ingredients from their parents' farm and the mussels they for the paella were some of the best and creamiest I have ever had! The class time was shifted earlier by an hour and we were notified by email, which still worked for our day's schedule. It would have been nice to get to shop with them at the Boqueria as some of the other reviews mentioned, but we learned how to make so many dishes that day (sangria, tomato bread, tortilla, paella, and creme catalan) that I can see how it'd be hard to do that and fit in making all those dishes. I would definitely recommend this class to any foodie!

"Very Fun Evening"

We really enjoyed our evening with Angeles and Carmen. The tour of the market was fascinating. Angeles cooking is great. We loved being able to have a hands on experience cooking the authentic flavors of Spain. Highly recommend this cooking class. Bill, Dawn, Mike, and Lorraine
