"Chinju no Mori", well known as the "sacred place for sake lovers" among the Japanese locals, is the place where you can taste the best and the real essence of Japanese Sake. We are probably one of the most popular and most famous izakaya here in Tokyo with more than 4000 bottles of sake in storage. We believe that just like wines, each of the sake has it's own best timing to taste.
While most of the sake drinker's still believes that the fresher the sake, the better it should be. That theory is sometimes true, however most of the sake could taste better after an appropriate time of aging. Thus we hold a good amount of storage in order for each of the customers to be able to enjoy the full potential of each of the sake.

Location is very easy to reach, owner of the izakaya Mr.Tatsu welcomed me warmly. His place is very cosy and high quality. It’s a membership-based izakaya because they serve original sakes that you can’t find at markets. Mr.Tatsu told me about the culture, process, details and territory of each sake. I tasted lots of different and delicious sakes. Mr.Tatsu loves sakes and he is very knowledgeable and gentleman person. It was a great experience. Thank you.
It was great to hear from someone passionate about sake share the history knowledge and enjoyment of this drink
Excellent knowledge , superb English etc
Very friendly and informative class with the opportunity to try lots of different types of sake. We tried sake we probably never would have if it weren't for the class and found some new favourites! The joining instructions were very clear. Very highly recommended!
It was such a eye opening experience our teacher had so much knowledge and a great way of explaining everything we wanted to know if your thinking about doing it, then book it you won’t regret it!!
Really interesting and enjoyable, with a great host. We were complete beginners, but even we got plenty out of it. Great value. Great variety of sakes (10 different ones, with the opportunity to have another glass of any favourites) out of the owners huge ~6.5k bottle collection. He also very kindly offered to sell us a tricky to find bottle if we came back the next day. Would definitely recommend and would revisit next time we’re in Tokyo.
