Eat Kyoto was started in 2018 to bring fun, interactive and memorable cooking experiences to Japan's ancient capital. We run our classes in a purpose built studio in the heart of the oldest part of Kyoto and combine laughter, learning, and delicious food with all of our hands-on workshops.
Our basic philosophy is that food is the best way to get to know a place, and we really want you to meet the real Kyoto. So, we designed a workshop to combine the tradition of the city with our own sense of fun and of course, a completely delicious meal that you will be able to recreate in your own kitchen! Using professional quality tools and ingredients, you will prepare all food under the expert guidance of our friendly bilingual chefs and when the cooking is over, we will all sit down together to enjoy our creations over a cold beer, local sake, or delicate green tea!
Created around a delicious and healthy miso ramen, this fun and an interesting course is led by an experienced local chef and will teach you all you need to know to recreate this Japanese favorite in…
This cooking class was very relaxed, organised like clockwork (Japanese style...) - and the result was delicious! We had a fantastic time. And bonus, the location is in the small charming streets of historical Gion district in Kyoto. Recommened!
Host was lovely, organised and easy to participate with friendly atmosphere. We all enjoyed the experience and also easy to make at home later
Course, Metal and Nao fantastic
We made Ramen with Aya as a group of 6 people. It was a great group and we all got on really well. The class was fun and Aya was a great teacher. I have to say that the meal we cooked was one of the tastiest I ate during my time in Japan. In fact, everyone else in the class laughed at me as I made nom, m'nom noises with every mouthful I ate!! We are noe planning to have a party at home sharing the recipe with 16 of our friends and family!!
Fantastic experience! The best way to learn! We could practice while cooking simultaneously as Aya, a really friendly person with very good English, our teacher was explaining really well. I don’t eat meat so she transformed the ingredients only for me without making it annoying for the rest of the group. We are both very grateful and we’ll come back.
We loved this cooking class. Learning how to make Ramen in Japan was a dream of mine. Highly recommended
