Learn how to make your favorite Malaysian food at a peaceful neighborhood in Kuala Lumpur just 20 minutes train ride away from the city.

Sara Khong, a professional cook and author of four Malaysian cookbooks, will welcome you to her family home to make Malaysian cuisine together.

Start your afternoon with a glass of flower tea before exploring the organic edible garden with over 50 herbs, spices, and flowers used in everyday cooking. See, touch, smell, and taste a variety of local plants like curry leaves and turmeric.

You will cook, hands-on, 3 Malaysian food and receive printed recipes so that you could recreate it at home.

Lastly, enjoy a delicious meal while hearing stories of the Malaysian way of life.

"Absolutely loved it"

Sarah is such a lovely person, very warm and welcoming with numerous other valuable qualities. Great teacher - she gives precise, clear instructions, doesn't try to take over when you're getting in a bit of a mess, but calmly guides you through. She's very knowledgeable about the numerous herbs etc growing in her garden. She was excellent with pre and post-class communication - sent photos and further tips and information about where to buy certain ingredients and alternatives for some if they're not readily available. There's also a good range of recipes to choose from. It was a brilliant morning and I 'd do it again in a heartbeat.

"Great cooking class in homey environment"

This cooking class took place outside the city center. I misread the email and was waiting to be picked up at the wrong station. Therefore, I was quite a bit late. However, the chef welcomed me and still had me cook all the dishes. I made 4 dishes but my favorite is okra topped with a sauce made with chili, shrimp paste and shallots. It was served in two ways, with either cooked or fresh sauce. I particularly liked the fresh version with its strong flavor of shrimp paste and refreshingly crisp shallots. Highly recommended class. But be aware that the meeting point is not in the city.

My home is just 20 minutes train ride away from the city centre (Bukit Bintang MRT Station). Take a train to Taman Connaught MRT Station and exit at Gate C. We will pick you up there.

For convenience, you can also take a GRAB taxi directly to the school (recommended).
