Indian and Goan Cooking Class with Market Tour (Perfect for Cruise Ship Guests!)

This culinary experience is the perfect activity for cruise ship guests. You will experience four special activities on this tour. 

First, you will go to the local farmers market so you can see the culture and lives of the local people. Next, you will begin the cooking class with an introduction to local spices and ingredients. These ingredients will be used to create a traditional Goan meal of five courses, which you will enjoy for lunch. Finally, the group will head to Bogmalo Beach, a secluded beach that is a favorite of the locals. 

This cooking class offers vegetarian and meat-based Indian and Goan dishes, and is held in the garden gazebo. The teacher, Rita Shinde, will teach you her cooking skills in Goan cuisine that was taught to her by her mother.

• Coconut Chutney
• The traditional lunch will include:
• Rissois de Camarao or Chicken Croquettes
• Chicken Cafreal or Paneer Cafreal
• Cabbage Fugath 
• Prawns in Recheado sauce
• Goan Prawn Curry
• Papad
• Aloo Gobi Mutter
• Mint & Coriander Chutney
• Curd Raita
• Bolo Mimosa (A Coconut Pie) or Kheer
• The demonstration cooking class will be in:
• Rissois de Camaao/Cabbage Fugath/Cafreal

The guest can message in advance to if they have any specific preferences, food allergies etc.

Programme

• 8:30 am: Pick up from cruise pier (Harbour) 
• 8:45 am: Welcome by Rita Shinde (Rita’s Gourmet). Traditional breakfast and introduction to culinary history 
• 9:45 am: Local farmer’s market guided tour at the historic city of Vasco da Gama
• 10:45 am: Transfer to Rita’s Gourmet at Dabolim
• 10:55 am: Introduction to an array of spices and ingredients
• 11:30 am: Demonstration & Participation cooking class in classic in three Indo-Goan dishes
• 1:15 pm: Appetizer with lunch
• 2:00 pm: A quick visit to Bogmalo beach and transfer to the city of Vasco and then to Cruise Pier (Harbor)
• 3:30 pm: Arrival at the cruise pier
