On this tour, we drive from Viareggio / Pisa / Livorno to Bolgheri, where we visit an olive farm where world champion oils are produced. Simone and Paolo will teach us how to taste, buy and store oil. We leave early for Bolgheri, some 60 miles/100km down the coast, where our first stop will be the olive grove of two real champions! Simone and Paolo are among the best master olive oil producers in the world and multiple world champions. You will learn a lot about olives, and how to make premium oil. We will learn how to taste, buy, use and store olive oil. We will then have a vegan lunch with a breathtaking view of the sea.
After lunch, we take a stroll in Bolgheri itself for a coffee or an ice cream. On the way there we see the world famous, 5km long, alley of some 5000 cypress trees planted by the count of Bolgheri. In the afternoon we go wine tasting at one of the famous wineries in Bolgheri where the so-called Supertuscans are produced. We will taste a line of really high-quality wines, which we also can buy at the cellar. As you might know, Bolgheri is the home of one of the worlds most expensive wines, the Sassicaia, made entirely on French grapes, but on Tuscan soil.
Back in Viareggio, we will have our late vegan dinner, maybe followed by vegan ice cream on the Passeggiata, and a long night sleep in our seaside villa.
