Discover the secrets to authentic and delicious Balinese cuisine with a cooking class at the Alantara resort. This is a fun opportunity to go behind-the-scenes in a Balinese kitchen and see what makes Bali's food culture unique.

Our professional chef will happy to share his recipes and traditional cooking techniques with you.

Our cooking class has a special focus on using fresh produce grown on the island, as well as locally-sourced seafood out of respect for Sanur’s coastal location.

Menu 1: BALINESE

STARTER

• Lawar Gedang - Grated young papaya, Long bean, Mixed with sambal embe, Yellow paste, Grated coconut 

SOUP

• Ares Be Siap - Slice of banana stick mixed with Balinese Spices, Chicken broth reduce on 30 Minutes 

MAIN COURSE

• Sate Lilit - Traditional minced tuna and snapper skewer with grated coconut
• Betutu - Famous traditional braised chicken with balinese spices 

DESSERT

• Dadar Guling - Rolled pancake with grated coconut served with palm sauce 

Menu 2: HEALTHY

STARTER

• Heart Salad - Mixed green salad. Jicama, beetroot. carrot, grilled tofu, spice cashew, strawberry, served with  passion fruit dressing 

SOUP

• Golden Jamu - Pumpkin soup with red ginger and turmeric, topping with coconut milk 

MAIN COURSE 

• Chicken Paleo Booster: Grilled chicken with herb lemon sauce and pumpkin puree  
• Antioxidant Fried Rice: Sauted cauliflower couscous with carrot, leek, tempe, green bean, onion, tempe, herbs 

DESSERT

• Mango Lisa: Cashew crush with mango cacaco cake, and date jam 

Menu 3: NUSANTARA

STARTER: 

• Gado Gado - Steam local vegetables, boiled egg, tofu, tempe, served with peanut sauce 
• Bergedel Jagung - Deep fry sweet corn , celery, leek with rice flour 

MAIN COURSE

• Kare Ayam - Stew Chicken with coconut milk, yellow spices, lemon grass, bay leave 
• Pepes Ikan - Marinated Fish with kemangi leaf, aromantic lemon grass, ginger, chili, tumeric and wrap with banana leaf 

DESSERT

• Kolek Pisang - Traditional dessert with rice flour, coconut cream, banana, palm sugar

• 2:00 pm Pick up at your hotel in the Sanur area only
• 3:00 pm: Cooking Session 1 and tasting
• 4:00 pm: Cooking Session 2 and tasting
• 5:30 pm: Dessert session and enjoy your dish 
• 7:00 pm: End of the class
