We had the best time taking Jeff's cooking class. He was super professional and we learned a lot from him! The recipes were interesting and not too complicated. We laughed in the class and had a great time. We were traveling in Taipei from New York and we recommend that anyone visiting Taipei should take Jeff's class!!
I enjoyed the menu for Taiwanese street food. I didn't realize we would make milk tea pearls from scratch (didn't even know it was possible). Those were delicious and will try at home. Teacher Jeff was friendly and did a good job explaining the rationale / details.
The class is evenly paced and Jeff is simply an amazing teacher. Enjoyed my xiao long bao to the max!

Three thumbs up! This was an amazing class. Jeff who was the instructor was amazing! He was able to explain the history of the food and the cooking process in ways that everyone was able to understand. He is very professional and smart in terms of what he do. We learned hands on process in cooking Taiwanese beef noodles and more! His kitchen was delightful. It was very clean and organized. I definitely saw the depth of culture in Taiwan with this experience. Jeff was detailed and very accommodating. You won't get intimidated even if you are not a professional cook. We had a great time sharing each other's ideas and cooking!

Jeff is simply amazing. He can explain food and cooking in very simple terms. He is knowledgeable about the food itself. In this class, we learned hands-on how to cook Taiwanese beef noddle, Taiwanese pickled cucumber and fig jelly. I was surprised that we were supposed to make the noddles we eat from scratch -- I did not anticipate that. Upon Jeff's detailed instructions, I was able to make the noddle myself and I was surprised how bouncy it was -- it was completely different from the factory noddles that you eat on the street or buy from the supermarket! I attended two of Jeff's classes -- the Taiwanese beef noddle class and the Taiwanese braised pork with rice class. Both were great. Jeff knows how to engage all the students. We were all cooking together and chatting. Everyone had a great time. I will be back!
My instructor was Jeff. I had one great experience with him before (the Taiwanese beef noodle class) and am a happy returning student. Jeff has multiple talents. In addition to his ability to teach, he also has the ability to bring people together. In this particular class, he first engaged everyone by asking everyone their background etc. I did not know anyone (the size of the class was six) in this class but by the end of the class, we were all laughing together, cheering each other up (as we practiced flipping the oyster omelet in the pan), and having fun. What I really liked about this class is the hands-on experience, in addition to the fun we had. I am the type of person who needs to get my hands dirty in order to memorize the way a dish is cooked. I watched a lot of online videos teaching how to cook but nothing beats standing right in front of the food you make. You get to know the timing to add the next ingredient when you smell certain clues from the food you cook. You cannot get this type of clues by watching a video. Your body remembers -- and of course, Jeff tells you to watch out for these subtle clues that mother nature gives you. I will be back!
I reserved a cooking class with Taiwan Cooking 101 School after walking past them a couple weeks ago. Reserved a cooking class with two other friends and we all had so much fun. We love braised pork rice, oyster omelette, and boba and are happy that we now know how to makes these at home! Not only do you learn how to make delicious food, you also get to eat them after class. The foods we made were better than any night market or restaurant I've had in Taiwan.
The whole registration was smooth and simple. All what I need was bringing a relax mood to the venue by showing my registered email to the host.
It was first time I cooked Soup Dumpling. It was easier than I expected. Our teacher and students are all friendly! I like to meet them and cooking together again!
Geoff was a great teacher and showed us how to make delicious beef noodle soup. He and his assistant were friendly and helpful. The teaching kitchen was bright and very well equipped. We even got a certificate at the end!
It was the really greatest moment on this trip. Sir Jeff was a sweet and humorous chef. You can learn cooking without any boring time. The recipe was really good and I can taste homely Taiwanese food which you can't taste on the street. I will take the class when I visit Taiwan again. :)
I was so proud that I made the xiaolongbao from start to finish! The instructor was clear, and very helpful in making sure I understood each step. Very fun!
This was a great experience learning how to make soup dumplings (xiao long bao). It was my first cooking class, and Jeff (the head teacher) and Amber (the assistant) were very patient with me. They were nice enough to take pictures for me during the class, as well. The dumplings were delicious too! I loved the experience!

The cookly is located in Taipei ‘s historical region but the interior of the class was very fashionable and clean. I was the only student of that day. The instructor was really good at teaching and everything went so smoothly . Also, she had plenty of knowledge about the foods and explained me about the background of each ingredient. I believe Joining a cooking class gives you impressive memory more than just seeing around the city.
This class was great, I was looking to book class to do in Taipei at the very last minute and everywhere was booked out. Then I came across this class. As soon as I entered I was welcomed warmly by the hosts and we began the class. The chef, Jeff was incredible. He is a genuinely nice person who taught every step very well and in detail. I learned a lot from him. The place itself was very clean and all equipment and ingredients are provided. The course is amazing value compared to others of a similar type. I would definitely recommend taking this class and learning to cook Taiwanese style!

Situated in the old neighbourhood of Taipei, the many interesting shops nearby add to the fun event before the class begins. Friendly teacher and staff. They show much patience in showing us how to do Xiao Long Bao and gave us a lot of encouragement throughout the course. A nice experience to try out how to make your favourite food under step by step guidance.
We realy enjoyed our class. The team was very professional. We learn good receipe. It was delicious.
