About

At this sushi class, we are going to teach how to cook Japanese “Edomae (江戸前)” Sushi. meaning Edo-Style Sushi. You will work with the professional sushi chef and see the master demonstration of how to cut the fish.

In this cooking experience we are going to make 3 things mainly

How to cook the sushi rice with vinegar
How to make Nigiri (slice of raw fish over pressed vinegared rice)
How to make Makimono (Rolled rice a.k.a California roll)

Started sushi chef when he was 18 years old
Working at one of the most popular restaurants
Opened his own sushi restaurant in Edogawa-ku (East Tokyo) and for more than 30 years

Schedule

10:30 am: Meet at the cooking school next to Shinjuku station
10:40 am: Demonstration of how to slice nicely of the sushi
10:50 am: How to cook the sushi rice
11:00 am: How to make Nigiri sushi
11:30 am: How to make Maki sushi
12:00 pm: Enjoy the sushi that we have cooked
12:30 pm: End of the cooking class

"Great! Educational, Fun, ...and Delicious!"

Everyone, upon visiting Japan, should take a sushi lesson...So we did. Among the different sushi lesson offer, we chose this particular one for the CV of the chef, location of the class (central Tokyo) and because on our conversations with the organiser he was approachable and really helpful. When we arrived, before, during and after our class...we were met with the highest standards...of knowledge, entertainment, and deliciousness...! All our questions were kindly answered and we got to use the chef's 45 year working tool! And we got to taste our own sushi...and that of the chef himself!! I would, and already have done so, recommend this particular experience 100%! Thank you so much!
