Hello, I'm Oui! Join me on a culinary journey starting at the local market, where we'll explore vibrant stalls filled with Northern Thai treasures. After the market tour, step into my cozy home to turn this cooking experience into lasting memories. No cooking expertise required – we'll create dishes from scratch, capturing the heart of Thai cuisine. Dive into the stories behind each dish, and with a maximum of 3 participants, expect personalized attention. Take home some of my favorite recipes as a culinary souvenir to recreate the magic whenever you want. "A nice cooking day with the nice Host Oui"
The day was very nicely from the beginning to the end. Immediately after picking up from the hotel, we went directly to two local markets to buy the ingredients for the dish. In between, snacks were served from local shops from time to time (tip: don't have many breakfasts in the hotel before).
After we arrived at her home, it was time for the preparation of the food and the direct tasting, so that you can eat the 5 dishes one after the other.

"Fabulous"
I had a solo session with Trichada today and from the very beginning it was an absolute dream. She picked me up from my hotel, and we then went to a local market where she taught me about different Thai ingredients, and also picked some up for the dishes I wanted to make. She seems to have a great relationship with the different vendors, and they were very gracious in letting me try little bites of things. We then went to her house where the kitchen is set in a beautiful outdoor garden. She started me with some tea and coffee, and immediately I felt so at home. We then spent the next five or so hours cooking, and she gave me all the little tricks and secrets. I felt like I was cooking with my new Thai mom. Everything was amazingly delicious, and beautifully presented. It’s obvious she takes great pride in the work she does. She was more than happy to answer all my questions both food and culture related, and just an all around calming presence. I cannot say enough great things about her class. Seriously, just book it.

"Amazing"
Very different to the more commercial cooking courses I've done in SE Asia where you're often part of a huge class and help to make a dish with your group. This course was intimate and provided the opportunity to ask questions of the amazing host. Based in her lovely family home garden, Oui was a pleasure to spend a day with. Very informative and an excellent teacher. Make sure you go on an empty stomach!!! We had the best time and would recommend to anybody.

Trichada was sooooo nice.
I definitely recommend this class rather than other big cookeries.
Through markets exploring, I could try Thai snacks and also experience fresh ingredients(herbs, coconut milk, shrimps etc)!
Cooking class was ordinated and not difficult to follow. What you have to do is just follow Trichada’s instruction, then you’ll get unbelievable Thai Cuisine:)

"Amazing experience with Trichada"
What an experience with Trichada !
I have had the opportunity to have a private class (usually class do note xceed 4 people) and to choose 5 different dishes, even some that were not in Trichada's menu such as Khao Soi, and to learn all about the ingredients behind the recipes at the food market.
Trichada is a wonderful teacher and you do not only learn with her about Thai food, but also about Thai culture...
Her comprehensive class is based on the art of balancing the four S (Salt, sweet, spicy and sour) and the traditional tricks to cook Thai food, notably the secrets of all-natural food dyes.
I am looking forward to coming back to Chiang Mai to spend another half day in her peaceful home and learn about new recipes and secrets of Thai food !

"Inspirational and delicious!!"
I learned a lot from Oiu and I had so much fun doing it. Not only do you get to learn the tricks of Thai cooking, handed down over generations, you also get to buy the ingredients at the market, cook and eat every scrumptious creation!! Everything tasted so good and looked amazing! The colors, flavors and textures of the food we cooked are the reasons I can't wait to get home and recreate them. We cooked at her home in natural surroundings with great facilities. The best thing about this class is that it's small, four people max and this allows Oui to teach you one on one. We were all encouraged to choose a different meal to cook and in that way we got to learn how to cook many dishes and taste them all! I highly recommend this experience to everyone! Tri Chad’s is a wonderful instructor. She welcomes you into her home kitchen and does a great job of teaching various Thai dishes while emphasizing the 4 S’s ( Sweet, Salty, Sour and Spicy) I gained more in one class with her than 3 classes anywhere else.

"Amazing does not begin to describe it!"
Oui´s cooking class did not only make us taste the full beautiful combination of textures and colors of Thai cuisine, it also made us obsessively eager to continue learning and have more and more of Thailand´s culinary gems. We did the course on the early part of our trip and continued talking about it for the rest of it and beyond.
We learned a whole variety of useful tips, all outstandingly well explained by Oui: how to cut the ingredients to make full use of their taste, how to control the spiciness, how to make any Thai dish vegan if you want to, and much more. My girlfriend and I were prepared to go with the flow in case that vegan was not an option and were in the end astonished by the amount of detail and dedication that Ui showed as she enthusiastically explained us how to replace ingredient and made every dish available to us. It was encouraging and heart-warming.
Oui is a fun, smart, loving person with an incredible ability to make cooking easy to learn, only matched by her presentation skills. Each dish was a delight for the eyes as well as for the taste buds.
Only warning: after this course you will probably end up buying a wok, a mortar and talk to your friends about Thai cuisine so much that they will hate you, or kill them with ultra spicy chillies. And your standards for cooking classes will be up to the roof. All completely worth it, though. Make sure to also ask Oui for recommendations about where to eat, for she knows the best places in Chiang Mai.
You will probably also just love her house so much that you will want her to adopt you.
So just book this and enjoy.

"This was our favourite part of our trip to Chiang Mai!"
This class was fantastic. There were just 4 of us which meant that we were able to spend a lot of time with Oui, getting to truly learn how to make the dishes. Before the class, we went to a market and had some of the less familiar ingredients explained to us, then we got to try a few local treats. Afterwards, we were met with a welcome drink at Oui's home, and all of the ingredients for the first meal were set out at our individual stations. The day was packed with cooking and eating (so much) incredible food. I would definitely recommend this class, it was intimate and really worth the price.

"Amazing. A must do if you are in Chiang Mai!"
This was one of our best experience in the whole two weeks we spent in Thailand. Oui is an amazing person, super kind and super sweet. She’ll teach you everything about Thai cuisine and its culture. She’ll do anything to make you comfortable and to make you enjoy the most.
The class is super intimate, max 4 people. Thanks to this you have all the time and the chance to really understand and dive into Thai cuisine.
The market Tour was amazing and a really teach full experience.
There is also a vegetarian menu, and the menu we cooked was huge and absolutely incredible. Everything was sooooo good.
We absolutely recommend it, 100%. And when we’ll come back to Chiang Mai, we want to do it all over again Oui! 😊

"A must do in Chiang Mai!"
The cooking class was fun and full of learning. I was able to join a small group of tourist from different countries. The whole morning was full pack of activities. We got to enjoy the local market of Chiang Mai and tasted the culture of Northern Thailand. The staff also arranged a service to get us to the cookery home from our hotel. Upon arrival, we got welcome drinks and short intro about the history of the dishes we were to cook. Chef Oui was very delighted to have us. "Extremely good experience"
It’s such a good experience for letting us to know the culture of their local wet market, and we knew what the ingredients would be used for traditional Thai cuisine after the introduction by Ms. Oui 👩🏻🍳.

"Very personal and educational class!!"
We absolutely loved this cooking class. Oui spoke amazing English and is a damn good chef! She picked us up from our hotel, brought us to the market and then on to her house for the cooking lesson. Unlike other cooking classes we have done, in this one we fully prepped and cooked every dish. I feel confident that I can go home and actually prepare the menu. Great experience! The class was a small group of only four people max in the teachers home which made it very personal. The teacher, Oui, was amazing, do knowledgable and really made the day excellent for everyone. Could chose your 5 dishes of a menu which was nice. Also really enjoyed the market trip before the cooking as purchased the ingredients we used with excellent explanations to what each was used for and tried a lot of exotic fruit. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to cook in Chiang Mai!

"Brilliant"
Second such course in Thailand, and this was an excellent day of learning Thai cooking both the proper way and, in a wonderfully relaxed family atmosphere.
Oui - sorry for misspelling- but her Trichada cooking school is a great day. Her focus is on the building blocks of the dish, which she allows you to alter as you like, as opposed to a prescripted format. You’ll come away: stuffed to the gills; informed; and aware of what real Thai food is!

This is the most memorable, authentic experience we had in Chiang Mai. We had a tour of the local markets, learnt about all the essential Thai ingredients, and we cooked in Oui’s most beautiful garden. The class is very small and private. We had so much fun cooking! Oui was amazing & going to any other class would be foolish. Her classes are small intimate groups in the setting of her beautiful home garden. The classes were thorough & Oui was super attentive answering all of our silly questions. Absolutes must-do für alle die thailändisches Essen mögen.
Die Schule ist etwas außerhalb der Stadt, was einem das lokale Thailand zeigt. Außerdem wurden wir persönlich abgeholt und fuhren auf dem weg zu einem lokalen Markt.
Die Gastgeberin ist eine herzliche, liebenswerte Frau der man die Liebe zum Kochen und den Zutaten anmerkt. Sie lehrt mit Leidenschaft und man wird von Ihrer Begeisterung angesteckt.
Der Tag war sehr lehrreich und angenehm und durch die kleine Gruppenanzahl sehr persönlich.

Oui is the best cooking instructor I could’ve asked for!!!
She’s accommodating to any dietary needs and allows you to cook the dishes to your liking. Her attention to detail is awesome. I learned so much about traditional thai cuisine. Her private groups allow for a much more personal experience.
I would definitely do it all over again if I’m ever in Chiang Mai again. You will not regret booking with her!!!

"PERFECT!!"
What we wanted we got. We wanted to visit the market and see the produce and items we needed as well as learn about them more. We wanted a great space to work in ideally with only a handful of people and for a great teacher to be helpful, funny and can speak good English as I’m appalling at Thai. We got everything!! Maximum o 4 people and we had the privilege of being invited to cook at Qui’s home. Even better, it was outside under a fixed canopy with very clean and professional equipment to work with. I couldn’t have asked for more! The dishes were the usual ones but our great teacher gave us more choices if we wanted to make something different. Timon wise was spot on and If you’re looking for the above... book it now!

Saya dan pasangan pergi ke Chiang Mai untuk mengikuti kursus ini dan benar2 pengalaman yang menyenangkan, berikut nilai positifnya :
+ Kelas Oui di taman rumahnya sendiri. peralatannya lengkap. dan bahan2 sudah disiapkan dengan baik, berasa seperti di dapur profesional.
+ Kelas nya hanya ber4 jadi berasa nyaman dan santai, kata Oui memang dia membatasi supaya kelasnya 4 orang saja supaya private.
+ Bisa request menu khusus yang tidak ada di daftar masakan. Teman saya ingin belajar masak Larb, dan berhasil masak enak sekali.
+ Dapat welcome drink yang dibuat dari Bunga Biru !
+ Kita belajar dari jam 9 sampai jam 3 lewat, walaupun sudah lewat jawal yang seharusnya tetapi kita asik ngobrol sampai lupa waktu. Jadi benar2 berasa seperti mengunjungi keluarga sendiri tidak seperti sedang kelas masak.

"Highlight of our trip"
Cooking with Oui was absolutely the highlight of my boyfriend and my trip. First she took us to the market to teach us about the different ingredients used in traditional Thai dishes. She shared samples of 10+ ingredients and sweet treats with us. Next she took us to her beautiful home where we cooked outside in the cover of her leafy garden. From start to finish we had an exceptional experience. The dishes we cooked were amazing, better than anything we got at a restaurant. She played everything beautifully for us to photograph. Her husband Peter, did the dishes for us and sat to converse as well. At the end, we enjoyed a cup of espresso and conversation, she boxed up our leftovers, and took us home. (She also picked us up.) The day was effortlessly amazing and I have already recommended to many people. Thank you so much Oui for a special day we will always remember.

"Amazing!!"
Trichada was incredible. My husband and I took her cooking class, we are big foodies so this was a very exciting day for us. At the market she had us try some local stalls food (all delicious) and taste, smell, and touch, the ingredients we would be using for the evening. We cooked so muxh food and everything was bright, spicy, and tasty. She made this class tons of fun. We would recommend her hands down to anyone who is visiting Chiang Mai!

"Everyone should do this! Highlight of our trip"
We had the best day visiting the local market and cooking with Oui in her home. She picked us up at our hotel in the Old City and took just the two of us to the market, where we got a very personal tour. She knows everyone, so we got to taste lots of little treats and learned about ingredients she uses to cook all the traditional Thai meals. After the market, she took us back to her house to cook. Her setup is perfect - we each had our own personal cook station in the shade outside and got to make 5 different dishes each. Oui and her husband Peter are wonderful people, and it was so nice spending the day chatting with them and learning from Oui - she truly loves what she does and is an extremely talented cook and teacher. We ate until we couldn't eat anymore, and are looking forward to trying to recreate all of the delicious food back home in Alaska! Oui and Peter's hospitality can't be beat and if you are looking to do a cooking class when in Thailand, this is the one - it was one of our favorite things we did on our whole trip! Thank you Oui!!!

Trichada, or nickname Oui, has been teaching Thai cooking for over four years. She is passionate, fluent in English and very knowledgeable. She keeps her lessons personal but instructing no more than 4 students at a time, so we all get enough one-on-one time in the kitchen. The day begins where she will pick you up from your accommodation and take the class to the local produce market. Trichada will go over the fundamental ingredients used in Thai cuisine -- the fresh coconut milk, jasmine rice vs. glutinous rice, a plethora of Thai herbs, chilis, vegetables, and poultry. She even bought us little pastry treats to try at the market.
The class is held comfortably in her front yard surrounding by her organic garden -- literally farm to table experience. Trichada is very welcoming and offered us to try fresh starfruits from the tree out in her parkway.
At no particular order of preference, I recommend all the dishes I cooked: satay chicken, tom khaa gai, panang curry, minced pork and spicy basil, and Thai custard in pumpkin.
I highly recommend Trichada's class as she's a patient, passionate and wonderful teacher to learn from. She's been working in hospitality before her culinary endeavor , so her communication skills are not to worry.

"Best cooking class ever"
Today I cooked with Oui at Trichada the cookery home. I've participated in multiple cooking classes in both Thailand and in other countries and this one was the best of them all. After a visit to the market I cooked a combination of Thai classics and a dish from the north east of Thailand called laab. All were delicious and Oui was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about her food. It was clear that she loves cooking and she manages to bring that across. Her cooking classes are very small, she accepts groups of max 6 people or 4 individuals that aren't a group. I was the only one today, but that was no problem at all. The class takes a bit longer than most cooking classes which meant we could do everything at leasure, and I still had part of the afternoon to do other things. We cooked a dish and I could enjoy the food, then cooked another until all five dishes plus the curry paste were finished. 10 out of 10.

The cooking is done in small classes in a relaxed style and environment. The host Oui will explain the basics of Thai cuisine in a very passionate way.

"Amazing culinary experience!"
Oui is so passionate about food and her love for what she does makes it a joy to be around her. It was just my friend and me in the cooking class and we got a lot of personalized attention. Oui answered all of our questions at the market and let us taste some fresh ingredients. Then she took us to her home, welcomed us with yummy lemongrass tea, and we got cooking. Everything was delicious and seemed so easy with Oui’s guidance. We each got to pick our own menu and taste each other’s work. So much fun!

"It was a perfect warm welcomed day, I'm very inspired by Thai cuisine and it was a pleasure to meet Trichada."
I had a wonderful day, instead of cancelling the day, Trichada made a personal cooking class for me, because a was the only one for the day. So I could wish what I want to cook and we decided to cook northern style, great! I'm very good prepared to bring theses recipes. First we started at the marked, I could try some unknown things and a was really surprised about the nice atmosphere and how they present all the products. Wonderful moments. "Wonderful cooking class with Trichada !"
We really enjoyed our first experience of cooking class all together !
We are 2 adults & 2 kids (11 & 14), we are French (speaking English) and a friend of us had recommended us this cooking class (fortunately because the offer is important).
No surprise during this amazing day, everything happened as planned in the description : pick-up at the hotel, discovery and purchases of fresh local products at a beautiful market and a lot of explanations of Trichada about thaï food.
We prepared 5 dishes each (19 different dishes for the four of us !) and tasted each one before cooking the next one.
As we couldn't eat the last dish before the dessert, Trichada gave them us to take away.
Trichada is really passionate by cooking and transmitting her knowledge, she's so kind and patient !
We strongly recommend this cooking class to everyone who stays in Chiang Mai.

"Amazing day!!"
It was our first cooking class and we really enjoyed it! Oui is a really nice person and you can see that she loves her job a lot. First we went to a local market what was very good to learn something about the ingredients. The cooking class was amazing we had so much fun and the food was so good. Oui shows a lot but you can do also a lot by yourself. It is really good that the groups are really small so you get always help if you need it. We can really recommend this cooking school!

"A great choice"
It was a fantastic experience! I booked this class through your website because it was the only one that would take bookings from one guest, and I did end up being the only guest. Khun Oui was warm, engaging and attentive, and her passion for cooking and for giving her guests an exceptional experience was evident. After she picked me up at my hotel in her car, she gave me an extensive menu to choose five items from, so we were ready to do the shopping once at the market. As we went from stand to stand, Khun Oui explained everything carefully, and even had me sample some Thai snacks. We then went to the school with its outside kitchen; I was greeted with a welcome drink (hot tea) before we got to work. As at the market, Khun Oui explained everything carefully, and though she did a lot of the work she let me do quite a bit of it, especially the cutting, pounding, and stirring. She put a lot of emphasis on the combination of aromas, flavours and colours. The food was plentiful, so my recommendation would be to go on a empty stomach or only a light breakfast. (She'll pack any leftovers as a take-away.) I also appreciated how she took care to present each item elegantly. Khun Oui's English is quite good so we had good conversation both from the hotel and back. It was a great choice!

"Amazing cooking class with a passionate teacher"
I did a few cooking class before but this was one of the best ! First we went to the market where we bought what we needed to cook and I could taste a lot of Thai stuff. Then we cooked in her nice outdoor kitchen ! What makes it special is that I could choose the recipes I wanted to cook ( you have a big list with many choices and you have a vegetarian option as well ) and oui only takes 4-6 people contrary to the other courses which are more like a cooking class industry with 15 people...
Oui takes the time to explain you everything and she's very generous !

"Don't miss it if you are in chiang mai"
It was really lucky to joined Trichada's cooking class. Oui (the teacher) took care of our needs carefully, explain all ingredients and process in details, treat us snacks in the traditional market, perform magic with natural food...I cannot finish them here!
She is such an excellent teacher with love and passionate for cooking. I suggest ppl here in Chiang mai who interest in cooking class must join this super high quality class. Totally worth it!

"Best Cooking Class in Thailand!!"
Oui's cooking class was one of our favorite things we got to experience in Thailand. The entire 2 weeks we spent there we never found food quite as good as the food Oui helped us cook! She was so kind and a great teacher. We originally chose her cooking class because she offered a vegetarian menu and were so pleased with our decision. She picked us up from our hotel and took us to the local market where we got to try many different foods that we never would have known to try on our own and then took us to her home for the cooking lessons. She had a great set up outside on her patio with cooking stations for each of us. All of the Thai dishes we got to cook were amazing and I would highly recommend her class to anyone visiting Chiang Mai!

"Fantastic Day with Delicious Food"
Trichada is the sweetest lady ever! Our visit to the market with her was eye opening and a lot of fun. We tasted here and there different foods from the market and shopped our fresh ingredients for the class ahead. Her husband was very welcoming and we were welcomed into their home with open arms! The day flew by and we left with full stomachs and a pocketful of recipes, inspiration and warm hearts! I would recommend Trichada any time and we would come again.
