Best cooking class our family has ever done. Not only did we learn some great recipes, we were also shown a number of prep techniques we will use in future. Our Head Chef Tuan was fantastic and we benefited greatly from his knowledge, insights and his passion for Vietnamese cooking. Would highly recommend Grain Cooking Classes to anyone with a love of food and cooking.

Tuan is a great teacher
Grain was the second cooking school I went to on my short solo trip to Saigon. Totally loved it and enjoyed myself!! The school was air-conditoned, nicely furnished, the chef was funny and taught well. We learnt 3 dishes and all 3 were really good, but my favourite was the tuna dish. Flavours exploded in my mouth and for that split second, I thought to myself, "Wow" I could cook something so delicious. We ended the class with Vietnamese coffee, a must have! Highly recommended!
Fresh Ingredients , Good environment. The chef teach you step by step. It’s easy to understand and follow. It’s worth to spend time and money to join this awesome cooking class.
A great cooking experience - very well presented. A "market area" was set up for us to pick up our ingredients, which was a nice feature that I have not seen before for other cooking classes. Food was wonderful!
I had so much fun learning about all the different Vietnamese ingredients and where they originated from. The chef was very easy to understand the he made it very comfortable to ask any questions I had in mind. All the food was beautiful, delicious most importantly really easy to follow. The class was clean and organized with helpers on hand to jump in at anytime. After taking this class I am really inspired to take more classes so I can be a bette home cook and who knows maybe one day I can teach my own Vietnamese cooking class back in the US!
The chef is very good, who the teaching is very clear and humorous, it was very interesting course for us.
I wish it went slower so I could write otherwise it's a good class!

very professional, clean, and organized. they have thought of everything, with an assistant chef to help. everything is portioned out and all tools set up exactly for you. learned a lot about vietnamese culture and cuisine.
We were tasting fish sauce, started with prawns in pumpkin flowers fried in starch, followed by a volcano like salad with chicken, cabbage and jellyfish. Then we boiled sea bass with mango and goji berry salad. Finished up with a nice coconut cream caramel and Vietnamese coffee. The place was really nice, our chef was Binh, he was great and took us to the street for tasting in the evening. I can warmly recommend him and the team at Grain!

I loved the cooking school. It is very nice inside and the class is set up somewhat like Masterchef. Our instructor Binh was amazing and super friendly. Also made some good friends in the class that I explored the city with later. It was a really good introduction to Vietnamese cooking and food for chefs or home cooks at any level.
If you want to know the background of Vietnamese-style cooking and apply your learnings firsthand, then you have come to the right place. I was really pleased and satisfied with this cooking class. We were welcomed with lime tea, greetings and short intro about Vietnam culture and cuisine. Then we had fish sauce tasting then we proceeded with the cooking. I never thought that i could be able to produce an authentic cuisine that i only tasted in restaurants. The instructor was very good and understandable. The cooking environment is cozy and the materials were very well provided.
I was making sauces, cutting, chopping, grinding, boiling, frying, wrapping.. done a lot and the food came out sooo delicious! Great experience. Recommended to all. Tutor is a Top chef!
The "wow" moment started when I walked in the classroom. Fresh tasty lime tea, colorful cooking equipment and the cute apron. The design of the class is so detailed focus that we even learned the soul of Vietnamese dish: fish sauce. I followed the instructions and cooked the delicious meal step by step. The bonus of the class is I now know how to plate like a restaurant dish. I like the local food in a deeper way because of the class.
Really pleased with this class- I came back the next day for another menu. Very attentive staff and chef teacher. Clean and well setup. Highly recommend.
Learned a lot about their cuisine. Not the traditional one but more on combination of things that are available in Vietnam. Technique was good. English was excellent. People were very helpful. A lot of freebies too. Must try!

Very professional and learned what to do with lemongrass. I’ve been doing it all wrong. Cooked 3 great dishes and tasted amazing even though I cooked them. Fish sauce explained. Wonderful!
My partner and I really enjoyed the class. It was well paced, engaging, informative and very well prepared. We enjoyed all of the dishes and feel comfortable trying them again when we get home. Loved the cooking space as well.
The minute you step out of the lift one enters a school with style and finesse. The highly organized industrial space is slick, light and a delight to work in. Pity we didn't see Luke but nonetheless our experience was an informative and amazing one. All of the cuisine was sublime and we deliriously ate our generous portions of food prepared. What a gratifying and inspiring morning.......

We really enjoyed our class immensely - a really professional set up with some food prep already done which meant you could focus on the main prep and learn techniques. With touches like the market pantry where you select experiences this is a well thought out and perfectly executed experience. I would thoroughly recommend Grain’s classes

Loved the class, had my 10 year old daughter with me and one of the helpers was always on hand to help her if she needed it. The food was mostly per chopped for us. But we did some slicing and dicing. Very well run and informative.
The cooking class is a great way to experience the country’s culture. Chef Binh was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and we actually cooked some cool dishes! Come with an empty stomach!
I totally recommend it if you are ever in Ho Chi Minh City! They also don’t mind if you are going solo where others have minimum of 2 people (Tip: Pre-order the wine pairing.....I didn’t and ended up adding it) Food was deeeeelicious!!!! Menu was Stuffed Prawn and Dill Pumpkin Flowers, Chicken & Cabbage salad with Jellyfish (tastes amazing as I was a little concerned about the jellyfish part 🤢), Marinated Sea Bass served with a Green Mango Salad, Coconut Crem Caramel with Fresh Fruit (provided).

Overall really enjoyed the experience at Grain by Luke Nguyen. The instructor was super knowledgeable and because our class was small, we were able to interact more closely with him. The dishes that we cooked were delicious and I was definitely very inspired. Highly recommend for anyone who is keen to get some cooking done in Saigon!
The class was well organised in a very nice environment. The food we cooked tasted good although I had one prawn which appeared spoiled (I ended up sick the next day!) Well worth the price for what we got out of it.

A great little cooking class. We were lucky to be in a fairly small group of 6, which was lovely and felt more personal. Our cooking class instructor, Binh, was friendly, funny and made the class so enjoyable. I’ve done several cooking classes during my travels and would have to say this one tops them all! Highly recommend :-)
The instructor, Tuan, was kind and very helpful. You can tell that he's passionate about cooking. Tuan also showed us how to perfect many skills and gave us advice on where to eat in town. The dishes we made we light and delicious. They showcased Vietnamese favour without being over- burdened by sauces or pepper.

I love what I cooked and loves the knowlege of fish sauce as well as other ingredients or cultures.
Very profesional setting and staff. Good spoken English and good rhytm of course. The only issue there is no sign in front so looking for the place is hard as you go through some cargo depot and its on the 3 th floor. If your into cooking this classe is highly recommended.

We thought that the Vietnamese Cooking Journey was a highlight of our time in Siagon. The facilitator, Truan, was entertaining, engaging and gave us a personalised experience. We enjoyed the opportunity to taste some of the important ingredients of Vietnamese food. We have returned home and have started to integrate these asian tastes into our cuisine into our meals. The Cookly facilities were inspiring.
Binh was a fabulous teacher. The premises were clean and professional. The menu was really delicious and easy to prepare. I have made a few of the dishes at home already. Thoroughly recommend this course over any other. It is really hands on.
I really enjoyed making each of the dishes rather than watching a chef do the work. Binh was very knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher. The selection of dishes on the menu were easy to make and true to the vietnamese culture. I was extremely lucky that I was the only person in the class.
The chef and his sister went out of there way. We cooked delicious food and nicely presented. It wasn't just rice paper rolls. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We have already recommended your cooking course to fellow travellers.
The food we cooked was so much better than the other classes we have done. It was fresh and tasty and very easy to prepare and we will use these recipes. Great class - very informative and very hands on which was where the value was. Very few classes let you cook everything from start to finish so this was definitely worthwhile! My first impression for this class is the friendly staff. When I arrived, there was a staff downstairs showed me the way. And during the class, the chef and the assistant were helpful and patient. The environment is very good. Everything is clean and neat. In the end of the class, the staff gave me the recipes for what I had made. On the back of the recipes are beautiful view of Vietnam which will remind me this experience. I really had a great time here. Highly recommended!
My husband and I found ourselves the only people in the class. The attention to detail in the prep work done before the class started was amazing. Our work station was fully equipped with everything required during the lesson, right down to specific coloured serving platters. The staff are so interesting and informative. This class is to be highly recommended.

We had a lot of fun at Grain's cooking studio! The cooking studio is beautifully decorated with a little market pantry where you'll pick your ingredients that you'll use for the class. The class is very hands-on as everyone gets their own cooking station. I really enjoyed it and the food we made was great.
