My name is Joungy, I am a chef with 11 years experience and I have traveled and lived abroad for 9 years (Mongolia, Brazil, Germany, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand..) and i love to meet people and teach them the secrets of Korean cooking :)

My cooking studio is in a traditional Korean house, also known as Hanok, and it is located inside a local market, which we will visit at the beginning of the class. I only host 4 people per class to have it more personal and be able to teach each of you. For private group requests I can host up to 6 people.

You will learn traditional and formal Korean food. I will teach you how to make it easier and in detail. You will cook 3 kinds of food (starter, main, dessert). After each dish that you have cooked, you will get to eat it in a traditional Korean setting. It will be a good chance to get information and recommendation from a local and meet other travelers.

Monday, Wednesday & Friday

Heamul pajeon - Seafood pancake with spring onion.
Bibimbab - Mixed rice what is one of the traditional and famous Korean food.
Bukumi - Korean crepes with nuts (for dessert).

Tuesday & Saturday

Japche - sweet and savory dish of stir-fried glass noodles and vegetables.
Jeyuk bokeum - Spicy stir-fried pork and vegetables.
Bukumi - Korean crepes with nuts (for dessert).

Thursday & Sunday

Kimchi jeon - Kimchi pancake
Bulgogi - stir-fried beef with soy sauce
Bukumi - Korean crepes with nuts (for dessert).

Hope after you joined my experience, more interested in Korean cooking and Korean culture :) We'll begin with a visit to a local market that's not known by many tourists. We'll look at the Korean ingredients and buy vegetables, and we'll walk around so you can see what the locals buy and sell in the market. After this, we'll visit a traditional Korean house and you'll learn to cook three kinds of genuine Korean foods and to make Kimchi also i offer you some side dishes and a soup when you have a main dish what normally Korean eat at home.This is hands-on cooking class. you will cook everything your self, so it's more fun and no need to stand to watch other people cooking. this is homely cooking class you can feel like you visit your Korean friend's house but also you can learn from a professional chef who has many experience in the Kitchen.

You really get useful information about cooking Korean food and the whole experience is just really good. This was an exceptional hands on experience in preparing traditional Korean dishes. Our 4 to 1 student to instructor ratio enhanced the learning environment. We enrolled in her class and enjoyed it so much that we took a second class a day later-lucky for us! Chef Joungy began her class with a market tour with explicit explanations of our ingredients and products. Next we moved on to her kitchen which was conveniently in the marketplace. Everything was ready and she demonstrated the correct ways to chop, slice, and mince each ingredient. Then she assisted us in properly cooking the dishes which became our delicious lunch. Our delicious lunch (appetizer, entree, kimchee, and dessert) was what we prepared and cooked for ourselves. What sets her class a part from others is her intense care for her students to learn the techniques properly. Every step along the way, she watched how we cut the vegetables, prepare the sauces and marinades and cooked the dishes. Our class was entertaining and a very worthwhile activity. Thank you, Joungy.
