A good chef nurtures relationships with suppliers, and knows where to buy great produce and how to choose the best ingredients. Our 4.5-hour market tour and cooking class begins with a guided walk around our local La Boqueria market. As we wander we talk about local culinary customs and how to pick the best local and seasonal produce. From the market, it´s just a 5 minute wander through the small streets of ciutat vella to our beautiful kitchen space Espai Egg in the heart of el Raval.

Sustainability is important to us, as is getting the best produce we can find, so all our ingredients are organic, local and seasonal. We tailor our class menus to what´s fresh and available at the market as well as our guests´ experience and interests. Maybe you want to keep it simple, or avoid certain foods, learn more about seafood or try out some cool plating techniques. No matter what direction we choose together, we always have a great time in the kitchen, with a glass of wine in hand of course. We want you to leave this class with a head full of new tricks, and plenty of tips for you to take home with you to avoid excess plastic when shopping, and make the most of your produce and kitchen.

When the work is done we head out onto the adjoining garden terrace to put this finishing touches and enjoy the meal. Here, you can relax and enjoy beautiful food with local organic wines. We treat all our guests as new found friends, and love to share our space and philosophy with them. Before you go, we will load you up with recommendations for our favourite bars, restaurants and things to do in Barcelona. You can even purchase some of the beautiful local products used in our class, or have a specialty coffee in the adjoining café on the way out.

We are dedicated to using seasonal produce and mixing it up, so our cooking class menu is constantly evolving and changing. As a tasty example, you mix learn and eat:

LEARN: How to prepare and cook different vegetables.
EAT: Artichokes with mint and orange peel

LEARN: How to clean, prepare and cook fish
EAT: ´Escabeche pickled Sardines with roasted potatoes and sundried tomatoes

LEARN: How to cook meat sous vide and prepare the perfect root vege puree
EAT: Organic filet mignon with parsnip cream

You can also learn to prepare and try some Catalan and Spanish classics:

• Calcots with smoky romesco sauce 
• Crema Catalana
• Ajo Blanco with a fruity twist

And while you´re working away we like to snack on a produce board of:

• Homemade pickles and ferments
• Catalan goat and cow cheeses
• Organic sourdough bread
• A ´map of Spain´ mix of olives
• Spanish charcuterie
