It was really enjoyable. I think especially because I love to eat, I appreciated the fact that we got to enjoy 11 dishes. It was fun starting off going through the local market and being shown some of the common Thai ingredients (esp because usually I avoid out of inability to communicate and never knowing how to tell what's good versus bad haha). The cooking class itself was awesome. Despite my own introversion and not being a huge fan of small talk, it was nice interacting with people from different backgrounds, sharing thoughts and some laughs, and just being kind humans to one another.
Jasmine was the guide, and she did a splendid job. Other than being funny (to me anyway), she just engaged everyone in such a warm and friendly way, giving clear examples for us to follow, and ensuring everyone was enjoying their dishes. Besides her, there was one silent but consistent worker in the back who diligently accepted our dishes and cleaned them (unfortunately don't know name). Then there was Ming, also diligently working in the background to prepare ingredients for the next dish as we enjoyed a recently made dish as well as giving us ingredients to prepare for the next cooking. I appreciated the 4 breaks we had to enjoy our meals throughout the cooking day.
Super appreciative of the cookbook because I'd definitely forget the majority of ingredients and steps to make the yummy meals I somehow made.
Overall, I feel like if you just want to enjoy your day, have some laughs, learn a little bit about a culture you might never otherwise, and enjoy yummy food, then you'll really enjoy your time here.
