Thai Cooking Academy

June and Ploy gave my family an authentic Thai cooking experience. A beautiful venue and very clean. Delicious food! Highly recommended.

It was a good class. Everything was prepared for us. The dishes cook quickly, and you can adjust them to your taste, and take away the leftovers. There was a mix up with my dish, but the teacher fixed it and I got detailed instructions on how to cook traditional pad thai and how to substitute some ingredients. I had a great experience.

We had a wonderful time learning how to cook delicious, authentic Thai dishes. Ahead of the day, we chose our appetisers, starters, mains, and desserts, so everything was thoughtfully prepared in advance. On arrival near the venue, we were taken on a local market tour to see the fresh ingredients we’d be using and learn about their role in each dish. We then got down to cooking, with Ploy our chef and teacher guiding us through each recipe step by step. The experience ended perfectly as we sat down to enjoy all the amazing food we had prepared. Ploy and the whole team were incredibly kind and generous. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves Thai food.

The visit to the market was very helpful. The meals I prepared, to my surprise, tasted very good. I learned a lot about preparing vegetables, seasoning, and spices.

The cooking class was so well organized, from the communication, to the transfers, to the variety of dishes! I would highly recommend this experience, good value for money!

We did the afternoon class and it was a very nice change of pace from the rest of our trip. It probably could have been a bit more challenging (most things were prepared for us already and we just made a few sauces and cooked things in the wok) but I suppose you don't want to think too hard when you're on holidays! The food was tasty and there was a LOT of it at the end - make sure you skip lunch and arrive hungry!

We really enjoyed our time, we were expertly guided through all of the steps. Our chefs were passionately explaining why we use these specific ingredients in this specific way to make authentic Thai food. As a vegetarian, I can tell that they put a lot of thought in my dishes so I don’t miss out on any of the flavours. They were patient with us and extremely kind. We could take the food home that we couldn’t finish. 11/10 definitely recommend!

This was a great cooking class. We liked our experience in the market and then the fast paced cooking class. Everything was prepped and ready to go and we all got to select our own menus. I think we actually enjoyed the spring rolls we made here better than spring rolls anywhere else. I would recommend!

Super Organisation! We learned a lot about the regional fruits and vegetables during the market tour and were able to take some ingredients like chili paste directly with us. Ploy gave us great guidance and we had great fun throughout the course. The food was incredibly delicious and very authentic. We can highly recommend this cooking class!

We did a vegetarian Thai cooking class. The team was amazing, they catered to our dietary requirements. Learnt so much! We had the best experience nothing to fault. Would recommend to everyone.

I did the half day class with market tour and it was a fantastic experience. I was picked up on the dot and the market tour was great, got a lot of insights into the various vegetables, meat and herbs which go into thai cooking. The class itself was held in a charming cottage near a tiny lake - a lovely location indeed! We were able to whip up 4 dishes in a jiffy, thanks to their expert guidance. All in all, a great experience and highly recommended. A big shout out to Khloy (hope i got that right) our guide.

Wonderful experience. We enjoyed the market tour before going to the cooking school. Plenty of time to learn about Thai ingredients. At the school we were taught how to make 8 different dishes. There was so much food we couldn’t eat it all. They have containers so you can take leftovers with you, but we were on a cruise so we gave our leftovers to our driver.

Driver and instructor both very polite, personable and funny! I was surprised at how easy it is to put together some of my favorite authentic Thai dishes! Especially the banana fritter! They were AMAZING. Will definitely give them another try when I get back home. My daughter and I went together while the rest of the crew went diving. We went for early session and were the only 2 students there so we ended up with private lesson! We will definitely go back with the rest of the family on our next trip to Phuket! A fantastic afternoon with the very knowledgable and talented Favour. Explored Kathu food market, Favour explained and showed us all the ingredients commonly used in Thai cooking. Comfortably transported to the cooking school where things ran like clockwork. Everything was so well organised and we had so much fun cooking our own chosen dishes. Would highly recommend!

I really appreciated the market tour as I had attempted to do some shopping on my own prior to taking the class. The guide provided great explanations of ingredients typically used in Thai cooking, which prepared my mindset for the class. Allowing students to choose what they cook was awesome! I follow a plant-based diet, and the staff even noted what I should look for on food labels when shopping. The site of the class is lovely. I really appreciated the cleanliness and the fact that each student had their own gas cook top, pans, and utensils. This was a truly amazing experience. I cook at home every day, but appreciated the cultural culinary experience.

Very organised and cleverly done. Even with 12 people in the class still got individual attention and the teachers where always there ready to show us what to do next and help. Friendly and happy atmosphere. The food tasted great.

Great way to experience and learn more about Thai food! Tour overall was very well organised, market tour in the morning was very informative. Actual cooking class was very hands on, loved the ability to customise the menu so you get to cook all your favourite meals. Be warned: do not eat before you go, you will be given a lot of food!

If you enjoy food and cooking this is a must! Expert instruction from the lovely Christine but what she also bought to the experience was a nice friendly and relaxed vibe. I loved the market experience which was an education in itself. The school was well equipped, clean and airy with beautiful views. There are I think ten cooking stations, plenty of room to move around and after your hard work you get to eat your delicious creation along with wine (at a small additional cost). Water is free. The leftovers can be boxed up to take away which is just as well because the portions are big. I loved every minute and will do it again.

The teacher and assistants were so engaging and made it fun. Our dishes were so delicious and while the cooking process went so fast we really hope we can recreate these back at home. It was a truly memorable day and would highly recommend anyone thinking of doing it to book this event. I had researched so many events and glad we chose this. A special birthday treat for my husband. Keep up the good work!

The visit to the local market was interesting because the guide took time to introduce and explain to us the local fruits, vegetables, sauces etc.. and gave us time to explore the market on our own to buy what we wanted for ourselves. There were street food as well that we could buy and eat immediately. The cooking school is very cosy and the kitchen is air-conditioned. Instructions for cooking were provided step by step so if you are really slow at learning, you will still do fine. The teachers were very patient and outgoing and we sat together around a table to eat the end product of our many dishes for lunch. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend this! :)

The class was excellent. The driver picked us up on time. The friendly teachers met us at the market and we started with a short market tour. We learned a lot about different types of traditional Thai food. The school was in a beautiful environment, clean and nice. We learned how to cook one entree, three dishes, and one dessert. The teachers were great. It was an unforgettable experience.

This class catered for the individual choices - not a one stop shop.

I am very glad I came across Phuket Cooking Academy! It was a very good way to spend half a day in Phuket learning Thai cuisines. The market tour prior to the cooking class was a nice touch and we really appreciated the inclusion of hotel pick-up and drop off. The place itself was clean and the view was a wonderful surprise. Das ganze war sehr gut organisiert. Die Gerichte waren top vorbereitet und MiuMui und Say waren sehr kompetent. Ein Lob auch den beiden Ladies die immer alles sofort abgewaschen haben. We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking experience. I am not a cook and worried I would look silly. On the contrary, I completed all my courses confidentially and they tasted great. The building, view and ambience were fabulous. I feel comfortable to come home and make a couple of the dishes. I think this is great value for money.

My husband and I came to Phuket for our honeymoon and took part in a Cookly Vegetarian Thai Cooking Class. We both love cooking so knew we would enjoy the experience. The chefs were so lovely and welcoming, they explained everything very clearly and went at a pace that made us feel comfortable. We loved preparing all of the meals but eating everything was the best part!! All of the ingredients are fresh and Thai food is just so full of flavour!! Such great value for money too!! The ambiance and the location of the class were both terrific. It was great to go to the market first and learn about the ingredients even though we didn't actually purchase all the specific ingredients for the class right at that time. The class was very well organized, ran smoothly and we made lots of food and could even take home leftovers. It was great to get the recipes too. The class teacher King did a very good job. HIghly recommended.

The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The class was also nice and they put a ton of work into trying to make it as smooth as they could. But there were a total of around a dozen people, all cooking different things and it was a bit hectic. This is the second cooking class we have taken in Thailand, the first being in Hua Hin, where we were only a group of 4 total and all cooking the same thing. I felt that went a lot better and I learned a lot more from it. Overall still a wonderful class and a lot of fun, I think it's just grown a bit too large but your milage may vary.

When booking tours through internet you never really know what you are going to get, but this tour really surpassed our expectations. Both the market tour and cooking class were extremely interesting to us, and the atmosphere, location, facilities and way of teaching were all very pleasant. We had a small group and had a very nice and personal cooking class by funny and nice Thai chef cook King and an assistant. Although no newcomers in cooking, we learned a lot, and of course the food was delicious. A real recommendation if you are looking to learn more about Thai food and culture.
