While traveling in Italy, my husband and I wanted to take a bread-making class. While in Pescara, I found Caterina's class. It was perfect for us as it was only a few blocks from our Airbnb. When we arrived, she was prepared and ready to share her gift of making bread. She introduced us to her husband, as well as her sourdough starter, named Teno. She's had 'Teno' longer than she's had her husband. Her English was very good and we had no difficulty understanding her instructions. We left with warm bread, some cheese, a sample of 'Teno' (her starter) and some flour to keep him alive until we returned home to Vancouver Island. And all my questions were answered as to why I was not having success with my sourdough bread at home. I'm excited to try it at home.
I gave Caterina’s course to my mother as a birthday gift — and let’s just say that after the first one, she wanted to take them all and dive deeper into fermentation thanks to Caterina’s engaging personality. I ended up joining too and attended the brioche course. It opened up a fantastic, fragrant world for me. Now I can’t live without my sourdough starter and freshly baked homemade croissants. It’s an incredible satisfaction that words can’t describe — you have to attend a Bread Coach course to truly understand.
I first met Caterina at a mini workshop in a friend’s shop, and I was immediately struck by her great humility and patience — the same qualities she’s shown in all the various courses I’ve taken with her (and there have been many!). We’ve created a unique bond, as she’s always incredibly available despite my total disobedience. She’s always helped me explore every path I wanted to try in baking, and has guided me in solving any problems I encountered. Now when I bake, I always think of her and send her pictures of my bread, because her enthusiasm is contagious and keeps me going… even in 30°C summer heat! Highly recommended ❤️
We treated ourselves to Caterina’s course and it was the best decision we could’ve made. Not only did we have fun, but we also learned how to make our own bread at home. Caterina is an excellent teacher — cheerful, brilliant, and passionate. Thanks to her teachings and the sourdough starter she gave us, making bread at home and while traveling in our van has now become our routine.
