We attended the tour with our teenage son and all loved the evening. Well paced with local information in between stops and really delicious food and drink. I was worried we may not get enough to eat but by the fourth stop I was so full I didn’t even finish my delicious risotto. Our guide was wonderful and we were fortunate to have a fun group with us to make it a memorable evening. Highly recommend!
I went on this food tour in the Navigli district on my own while my partner had to work, and it ended up being one of my favorite experiences in Milan. With the hustle and bustle of the Olympics happening around the city, this tour felt like the perfect escape. Chiara was an outstanding guide. She was kind, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. She shared so much history and fascinating local insight that made the neighborhood truly come alive. Navigli’s bohemian, lively energy paired beautifully with the sunset along the canal. The food was delicious, the company was lovely, and the entire evening felt relaxed and full of life. Chiara made it seamless and memorable from start to finish. 5/5 stars. I highly recommend.
We had a lovely strolling dinner through Navigli section of Milan. We had a variety of dishes as Cecelia, our guide, told us history about the area. We tried fried dough pizza (amazing, light and fluffy, not greasy) and washed it down with a local beer. Then on to a bar on a canal where we had polenta cakes with gorgonzola and carpaccio matched perfectly with Chianti. Then another ‘pizza’ made of chickpea flour called farinatta. Then we had saffron risotto with Ossobucco meatballs paired with red wine. All of the dishes were something we hadn’t tried before and we were amazed at how delicious they were! Of course we had dessert at our last stop- the most delicious gelato! I would recommend this tour.
Innocent provided one of the best tours we have been on in recent years. He was a proud and outstanding representative of Palermo the City. We signed up for a food tour and were provided with an in-depth perspective of his city. The tour took all the turn down the back alleys into the old market areas with shouting vendors and fresh produce in abundance. This tour was worth every penny that we paid
Giusi aided by Benny were wonderful. Giusi made it so interesting, sharing the the history and secrets behind the delicious food we tasted. Stay close though, as Palermo is noisy and busy . You don’t want to miss out on any of her delightful stories. We were introduced to dishes from exceptional traditional local expert artisans , with many generations of experience. Be prepared to eat and drink. The introduction of local beverages was lovely. Traversing the exhilarating market to eat in the heart of a bakery and eating cannoli in beautiful the monastery gardens were added bonuses.
Had an amazing tour with Innocenzo! He was so knowledgeable about the food culture and history of Palermo. He was able to answer every question we had, and also shared some personal stories / his own experiences growing up in Palermo. He took us to all the best places to try different traditional Sicilian food and drinks and I was so full by the end! The tour group was small too which meant a very personalised experience. I’d highly recommend this tour!
What a fantastic deep dive into Palermo’s street food scene! Innocenzo is an absolute gem of a guide; warm, engaging, and so clearly in love with his city. What really set this tour apart was how personal it felt; his stories of growing up in Palermo added so much texture to the experience. This wasn’t just about eating (though we ate very well), it was a true history lesson woven into every stop. From centuries-old recipes to the cultural influences that shaped Sicilian cuisine, we walked away with a richer understanding of what’s on the plate and why. Navigating Ballarò market could be overwhelming on your own, but with Innocenzo, it felt like being shown around by a friend who knows every corner, vendor, and hidden gem. An intimate, flavorful, and genuinely memorable introduction to Palermo. Highly recommend coming hungry and curious.
Benny, our guide was terrific! Very informative and personable. We had a great evening and great food!
Such a great experience. Mauro was informative and fun. Great to have so may different types of food in one location.
We enjoyed the tour very much. Benny was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and good company. Choice of restaurants and food and drink was excellent. Gave us a great insight to Sicilian food culture and restaurants to revisit during our stay.
Absolutely outstanding. Giusi was amazing and a treasure trove of information, not just about the food, but also history, culture, etc. Showed us places we would never have found on our own and had many more great recommendations for the days to come. The food, drinks and service in the different locations was above reproach. Can absolutely recommend.
Exploring the lesser-known islands by boat made everything feel exclusive and special. The lagoon vegetables, prosecco, and traditional dishes were all excellent. A truly unique experience that shows a different, more authentic side of Venice.
The boat ride through the islands was peaceful and scenic, and every stop felt authentic and meaningful. The food was incredible—fresh, local, and thoughtfully paired with wine. A perfect blend of culture, history, and gastronomy.
I had the pleasure of taking this boat food tour with Gioele. Everything was very well organized and super professional. We visited the island of S. Erasmo and experienced the true magic of the island, an incredible place surrounded by nature. We watched the sunset passing by the vineyards, and then ended the day in style in a very good local restaurant! It was an amazing experience that I recommend to both first-time visitors to Venice and those who already know the city! Pure magic!
We’ve done a few food & drink tours and this had to be the best. Gio’s English was excellent and his friendly manner meant it was a pleasure to hang out with him for a few hours. We tried different and new foods, all good, and the accompanying drinks were perfect. The short walks between courses helped us manage to eat everything! Gio answered all our questions easily and we learnt so much from him about this different area of Venice.
Dani is such an an amazing guide! We couldn't have asked for a more friendly or knowledgeable guide for our tour... she was just fantastic! The food stops were authentic and all the food was so delicious, and the drinks were very good too. They customized the menu for vegetarian options too and they were also very good. Highly recommend! 😀
We had the most wonderful time on our food tour with Gioele! He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about both the local cuisine and culture. Every stop felt thoughtfully curated, and the food was absolutely delicious. Gioele made the experience feel personal and relaxed, and we left feeling like we truly got a taste of the city. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed Our food tour in Venice. Our tour guide was Dani. The food and wine samples were wonderful and she was an excellent work guide. We got to walk through some neighborhoods that we would not have otherwise seen on the trip and she gave us lots of information not just about traditional foods of the area, but also a little bit of the history of the region. Between stops, she took us to some lovely areas for photos. We got a great sampling of traditional Venetian food and drink. The company communicated very well about the meeting point and was very clear about what the tour included. Would definitely recommend!
The tour was fabulous. After the last two, very disappointing tours with another company, we were a bit leery, but decided to give it a try. Our guide, Ela, was excellent: energetic, enthusiastic, especially about the local cuisine, and knowledgeable. The tour was well paced, from the sweet rice cake (my personal favorite) to the two types of Parma ham and Lambrusco, everything was delicious. In between we had mortadella with a crusty bread, parmigiano and balsamic vinegars, including a 25 yr old Modena, watched the making of hand made tortellini, and even tried our own hands at folding them; then there was two types of pasta, tagliatella with ragù bolognese, and tortelloni with cream served with the local sparkling white wine. We had to waddle back to our room.
We had a great food tour in Bologna, Elinor was a lovely and informative guide! Everything we ate and drank was tasty and we were very full by the end. We also got to see pasta being made and tasted different ages of balsamic vinegar and parmagiana. Delicious! Would highly recommend.
My family and I had a wonderful experience on the food and wine tour of Bologna with Andrea! What a local historian and Bologna fan. We learned many interesting facts and sampled some amazing foods. We would recommend this experience to all that would like to dive into the culinary marvels of your wonderful city.
Great tour. Andrea was excellent. I learned a lot I enjoyed it a lot. They accommodated my wife who doesn't eat meat as well. Lots of fun.
A relaxed and well-paced tour with generous portions—definitely come hungry! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and I loved discovering places I wouldn’t have found on my own. It’s a great option if you want a low-key morning experience near the Colosseum.
I’ve done a few food tours, but this one stood out because of the balance between history and food. Walking through Monti while tasting authentic Roman bites made the experience feel immersive, not rushed. The small group size also made it more personal and enjoyable.
This breakfast tour was such a lovely way to begin our time in Rome. The rooftop breakfast overlooking Santa Maria Maggiore was unforgettable, and our guide made Monti feel so alive with stories and local insights. The food was delicious—from fresh pastries to porchetta—and the tiramisù at the end was the perfect finish!
Tommy was the best guide in Rome! We had a golf cart food tour. The sites chosen were amazing, and Tommy kept us laughing the entire evening. Spritzes, appetizers, pasta, tiramisu, and gelato. I am so full!
Fun evening being guided around the evening spots in Rome. Caesar was wonderful and gave great insight into the history of the area and the cuisine and drinks.
Great food, the amatriciana especially. The guide Fabio, was good nice and professional. Giro in golf cart very nice.
Fabio was fantastic!!! He was so personable and made us feel like famiglia!! Every dish was perfection, from the artichoke at Enzo’s to the tiramisu and pasta at Angelina. Perfetto! I would not change a thing. The best tour in Italy!!
Dario was a very personable tour guide with knowledge of Rome history, the diversity of different neighborhoods and popular Italian foods. He educated us with so many ideas about how to make food taste better. This was our first food tour and the added golf cart made it extra special. This was an amazing experience we won't forget! Thanks again Dario!
Such a fun, delicious way to see Rome. Dario made us feel like we were part of his family, introduced us to everyone, and explained all the foods and their story. He went out of his way to provide us with future recommendations and added in fun stories throughout the day. This was a great way to start our trip.
This was a fantastic food tour and Rish was a wonderful guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his city and the food. He was engaging for a group of all ages and answered all of our questions. Thank you so much Rish for sharing your city with us.
If you’re looking for something unique and luxurious, this is it. The group was small, the atmosphere intimate, and everything felt very well curated. I loved learning about Rome’s history while enjoying incredible food and wine. The truffle dishes were a standout, and the final cocktail with that stunning Trevi view was something I’ll never forget. A must-do for food lovers and couples!
An amazing way to experience Rome at night. The walking tour through the Jewish Ghetto and historic center was fascinating, and the storytelling made it even more memorable. Dinner at Tribuna Campitelli was exceptional—creative, delicious, and beautifully presented. The tiramisù stop was a sweet highlight, but the real finale was the private rooftop overlooking the Trevi Fountain—absolutely magical!
This tour was the highlight of our trip! From the prosecco toast at the Turtle Fountain to the incredible rooftop view of the Trevi Fountain, every moment felt special. The dinner was outstanding—truffle dishes, perfectly paired wine, and a modern twist on classic Roman flavors. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, bringing the city’s history to life. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a more elevated Roman experience.
Great way to spend Valentine's Day in Rome! We were looking for something unique to do, and this was the perfect choice. Our guide, Toni, was outstanding. She made the entire experience fun, educational, and by the time we left, we felt as if we had known the others in the group our entire lives. There's nothing better than making your own pasta and then eating it with new friends.
Katherine was wonderful! We brought our 8 and 10 year old and it was such a great experience. They loved making the pasta and using all of the tools. :) Everything was delicious... beautiful restaurant plus wine for mom and dad. Highly recommend!!
Did this tour with my teenage son whilst in Rome- excellent tour , really good fun and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The restaurant where we made pasta was lovely, the visit to the deli was great as was the gelato . Our guide Toni was very good and told us lots about Rome, food and culture.
I had a such an amazing time with Aldo. He was so knowledgeable, a true foodie, and shared information about navigating the city, Italian food, and Naples history. I loved how he went around the group asking where we were from and what our favorite Italian food was, then explaining where each dish was from and giving information about each dish. The food we tried was delicious and representative of Naples, and Aldo’s explanation on the way to best enjoy each item was so helpful. After the tour I was able to comfortably explore the city by myself and was aware of things to look for and do. After, Aldo shared some of his family recipes. I totally recommend this foodie tour with Aldo!
Aldo was a phenomenal tour guide! His passion for food, Naples, and sharing stories made this tour a highlight of our trip. We tasted delicious foods, learned about the history of Naples, and explored sights that helped our small group understand the local culture. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in a fun and informative tour. Thanks again, Aldo! You're the best!
Absolutely wonderful food tour. Our guide Aldo was incredible, knowledgeable and enthusiastic! Great food, good sights, good brief dive into Naples culture!
We highly recommend this Naples pizza and drinks walking tour! It is our first day and already it will be a highlight of this trip! From the very start, everything was perfectly organized and welcoming. Carolina was incredibly knowledgeable about Naples’ food culture and history. She truly loved sharing her city with us. Every stop offered something unique, from classic traditional slices to local specialties we would have known to try. What really made this tour stand out was the atmosphere. Walking through the lively streets, discovering hidden gems, chatting with fellow travelers, and soaking in the vibrant energy of Naples created the perfect mix of food, culture, fun, and so much pizza! If you’re visiting Naples, this tour is an absolute must-do!
A fun walk about Naples filled with great food, excellent drinks, and more local insight than I thought possible. Our guide, Catherine, was fantastic and made the whole night fun and insightful! You will finish this with a belly full of local goodness and your head filled with a true appreciation for the city. Highly recommended!!
We had a fantastic Naples pizza tour with Virginia!! The food was great, and the walk was great as well. We also learned a bit about the local culture, some local history, and some of what makes Napoli fantastic, Thanks Virginia, we enjoyed your company and send you best wishes!!
This was such a great experience! We met new friends, made great food, and had some wine in the process. Highly recommend!
Excellent time. Very fun and interesting. Great experience to learn and make a meal together. Friendly and knowledgeable staff made this a highlight.
This was a wonderful way to truly dive into Italian food culture with a hands on, family friendly pizza and gelato making class! The instructions were clear, the teacher was funny and helpful, the company was delightful, and the food was delicious! I've done a number of eating tours in various cities with Eating Europe, but this was my first cooking class. I'll definitely be back, and look forward to trying out the recipes as home!
We had a wonderful time! Our hosts were engaging, fun, and informative. Definitely would highly recommend for an enjoyable activity appropriate for families or groups wanting a fun evening with friends. Plus we learned how to make a delicious meal!
This class was elite! We learned how to make ravioli and tagliatelle. Giorgio, the instructor, was fun, energetic and informative.
Fantastic evening. Good was great. Experience was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Ellie was a fantastic, lively guide. Very knowledgeable about how Florence’s history shapes today’s food culture. She has a lovely report with the vendors we visited and you can tell it influences their interactions with her group. Most felt like a personal connection. The tour is paced well with plenty of time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed or like it lagged. Even time to shop at each vendor when the group is small. I went as a solo traveler and thoroughly enjoyed my time!
Francesco (and Nadia) were amazing guides! They showed us all the great places to eat and we had amazing food along the way. Loved the olive oil/balsamic tasting, wine tasting and gelato. Definitely a must do tour when in Florence!
This was a fun tour. Ellie was a great guide, very funny and gave very good explanations of the Florentine and Italian food and culture relevant to each stop on the tour. I visited Florence last year and did the museums, this time I wanted a look at the central market and I’m very happy I did the tour. Everything we tasted was interesting and all the vendors were kind and friendly. Take this tour, you won’t be sorry.
A memorable experience that I would do again. It was fascinating to support and try the delicacies that Florence had to offer. From cheese and aged meat to fine wine and gelato. Everyone in the group was lovely and welcoming to one another and got to talk about our own trips and lives while exploring the beauty and history of Florence. Would highly recommend🇮🇹🫶
This was our favorite tour during our 2 week trip to Europe! It was well organized, professional, fun and we had tons of delicious food. Martino was a fantastic guide with detailed information on the food & history. We brought our 13 & 18 year old sons and it was also a highlight of their trip. I would highly recommend!
We did the Other Side of Florence Food tour with the lovely Esther as our guide at the end of March. Everything was well organized with communications before the tour, informative and prompt. The group size of 12 was ideal for the tour and everyone was chatty and sociable. Starting off at around 10 am we walked around Oltrarno and enjoyed visits to local family-owned businesses including a deli/ cheese shop where we sampled lovely cold cuts and the wonderful pecorino cheese with truffles. Next stop was the Lamprodotto stall where Esther explained the history of this unique Florentine "delicacy " to us and samples were passed around - what can I say!! Moving on we visited a beautiful bakery in Santa Spirito where the lovely owner / host shared samples of their wonderful cakes including Colomba Pasqua. Next stop was a wine window where we all partook in receiving our wine at the window by the lovely host and then this was followed by more wine accompanied with samples of freshly made Riboletta and Boar stew with Polenta -all delicious! Last stop was the real gelato shop – another local business with the little shop in Santa Spirito and one nearer Pinterest Vecchio -so good. I chose Lemon and Sage sorbet and Pistachio - the real deal! We returned for more later during our time in Florence. Esther was so generous with her knowledge of the food and also lots of lovely little bits of information about the Oltrarno neighbourhood and history of Florence in the wider context. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour - it was a great start to our holiday especially as we stayed in Oltrarno this time. Before we returned home, we also returned to the cheese store to buy some lovely cheese and fennel salami to bring back to Scotland. Esther is a fantastic guide - such good fun and so enthusiastic about everything. We would recommend this tour to any visitors - a wonderful way to learn about the culinary traditions of Oltrarno - thank-you!
We did this tour on our first full day in Florence and Elisa brought us on a joyful journey through food, wine, and the history of small, local, intimate venues in Oltrarno. I would wholeheartedly recommend everyone else to do the same. The food and wine were exquisite. On top of that, the owners of each stop on the tour greeted us like family, and Eli took us along like friends, telling us inside stories about her experiences at each destination. Eli brought not only her delightful personality, but also her deep knowledge of food and of wine from her background as a sommelier. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and even if we hadn’t had 5 drinks, I’d still sing Elisa’s praises as the reason this tour is listed as Florence’s best. Thank you Eli!!
Eli was an absolute GEM of a host and tour guide. Eli was not only knowledgeable about the local food and wine scene in Oltrarno, but expertly led me and my friends through the how's and why's of the pairings (5 drinks total!). We loved benefiting from the amazing relationships Eli has built with local businesses in the area! Eli had amazing communication skills with us (English speakers) and really added a fun flair to our evening. We also were able to ask Eli about local things to try during the rest of our trip, and she was very helpful in guiding us to great local places. Overall an amazing experience well worth the money that wouldn't have been the same without her. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an amazing intimate experience in Florence. Thanks, Eli!
Had an amazing tour on our first night in Florence with Nadia. Nadia was an amazing guide and we were lucky to be with such a friendly group of others on the tour. All the food stops were amazing and all included the most amazing wines. Was great to try more local dishes and learn about the history as we went along. Personal favorite was the negroni from the wine windows! Definitely recommend this tour :)
This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Great balance of food and wine, walking, education, and free time for general conversation. Each of the food and wine stops were historic and full of character. Our guide Serena was wonderful - so knowledgeable and friendly and kind. She exuded genuine enthusiasm for her city and its cultural heritage and happily answered the many extra questions from our group. At each stop we had plenty of time for both commentary about the food/wine/location and relevant history or culture as well as time to sit and relax and chat. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
One of the best decisions we made in Florence was booking this food tour, and it exceeded every expectation. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen — nothing filler, nothing touristy for the sake of it. The food and wine were exceptional across the board, but the wine cellar was a true highlight and something I'll be talking about for a long time. I have some dietary restrictions, and the team handled them seamlessly. I never felt like an afterthought or a logistical burden — everything was accommodated with genuine care, and I didn't miss out on a single moment of the experience. Our guide Alice was the perfect person to lead this tour. She struck a wonderful balance between sharing culinary knowledge and weaving in the history and culture of Florence in a way that felt natural rather than scripted. She also gave us some excellent recommendations beyond the tour itself — restaurants and spots we genuinely would not have found on our own. If you're visiting Florence and love food, wine, and genuinely good storytelling, do not skip this. Highly recommend!!
Alice was so fun, nice and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful dinner going from place to place. The wine cellar was led by a very nice local wine maker. The wine was delicious. All the food was the best we had on our trip. The steak was Amazing. We always do food tours when we travel and this may be the best yet. Thank you Alice for a lovely evening!
