About

Discover the flavors and ingredients from the wonderful Island of Gods.

First, we will take you to the local markets, so you can see our native ingredients, offerings and try some Balinese snacks.

After the local market, we will pass by some beautiful rice fields and explain the growing process of the rice plants.

And then, you will go to our traditional Balinese home in the peaceful Laplapan Village, where our family will expertly assist you in creating your own Balinese food. We'll also show you how to make crafts made with young coconut leaves, as well as canang sari (offerings) as a part of a cultural Balinese offering ceremony.

Schedule

8:00 am: Pick up at your hotel in Ubud
8:30 am: Visit the local traditional market
9:00 am: Rice field and explain the uniqueness of the rice plant
9:20 am: Back to our home. We will serve some snack and welcome drink.
9:30 am: Make the young coconut leaf offering "Canang Sari" And explain the structure of Balinese traditional house.
10:00 am: Start the traditional Balinese cooking class
12:00 pm: Enjoy the lunch that you made by your own hands.
1:00 pm: Back to your hotel

"Formidable"

Une matinée passionnante et tellement bien organisée dans la joie et la bonne humeur. Allechée (!) par la publicité, je n'imaginais pas autant de bonheur et pas seulement gustatif.. Rien à voir avec la cuisine des restaurants. Et partir avec les recettes sur un joli livret. Ne pas hésiter ! A faire absolument

This is more than a cookery class; it is an excellent window into authentic Balinese culture, spiritual and family life and also loads of fun. The class is run by two lovely brothers in their early 20s, their parents and girlfriends. It is a real family enterprise, but also exceptionally professional, well-organised and well-thought-out. It included standard features like a trip to the local market and a visit to a rice field, hands-on experience cooking a wide range of dishes, a huge lunch of all the delicious food we cooked, and a recipe book to take home, but what made it special was the way we were warmly welcomed into the family home, learning about traditional Balinese family life, and making and learning about traditional offerings and spirituality. The small size of the class gave us a great opportunity to interact with the whole family, who are such gorgeous people - so genuine and fun. We liked them so much we also got one of the brothers to bring us to the airport the next day and he was such a great guide, stopping at a waterfall and coffee plantation along the way, and having great chats and laughs all the way. I'm so delighted that we chose this class over all the other ones available. I highly recommend!!
