Xin chào! I’m Le Thi Lua. Originally I'm from the North of Vietnam. I have lived in the South for more than 24 years and can cook both North and South Vietnamese dishes. I am passionate about cooking (and eating) healthy food, and also love to travel (I have visited 15 countries and counting!). I first learned to cook when I was five years old. I was often asked to help around the kitchen with small chores and that got me very curious and interested in food and cooking. I learned most of the traditional recipes I cook from my family, and also love experimenting with ingredients and flavors to create my own dishes.

Wonderful!

I took Lua’s class on how to make banh mi and I had such an incredible time! Lua was incredibly hospitable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic in sharing her knowledge and love of cooking and baking. Even though I already had good background knowledge of the process of baking bread, learning how to make banh mi with Lua was incredibly insightful as she understood the small intricacies and details that separated what made a Vietnamese banh mi from other traditional methods of making bread, such as sourdough and campaigne loaves. Hearing her explanations and following along with her instructions was incredibly easy and I managed to create a successfully beautiful loaf on the first try, even with a few mistakes here and there. What was great as well, was that she also offered help troubleshooting our own bakes when we would try it at home. I had such a great time with this class and highly recommend it for anyone who is looking to learn how to bake an authentic banh mi!

We will meet at Lua's Kitchen, located in my apartment. My place is very close to the city center and easy to find—you can even walk from the city center along the scenic riverside.

When you are standing on the street looking at the building, the residential entrances are on the left-hand side.
