What to Expect

Enjoy a tour at Ben Thanh Market where you will have the chance to see the lively activities of a traditional Vietnamese market. Our chef and your guide will also teach you how to recognize and choose the numerous herbs and the different Vietnamese fruits and vegetables. You will then go back to the cookery centre to enjoy a hands-on cooking class.

Our chef in white uniform and an interpreter with the sign "Vietnam Cookery Centre" will meet you at the main entrance of Ben Thanh market on Le Loi St. at 8:30 am.

Raymond Reichardt

Established since 1999, we are the first and most professional Cookery Center in Vietnam, teaching Vietnamese gastronomy to tourists and other professional visitors from all over the world. Our courses are hands-on classes, which offer you an introduction to the food culture of Vietnam. Besides, we offer self-tailored classes, where you can design your own menu. We also welcome chefs all over the world at our professional class. Therefore, it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an experienced cook, we would love to welcome you all at our center. Our school is located in the heart of Saigon. From our large terrace you will have an unique view of an area that real estate developers call the “Golden Triangle”. On top of having a wonderful initiation on Vietnamese Gastronomy, you will have the opportunity to go back in history and spend time in one of the last colonial building still erected right downtown. At our center, not only you would learn to cook, but you would also explore a big part of Vietnamese culture. Come to have fun and fill your stomach with incredible food!

Family Experience

This is an experience that we will treasure. My family loves to cook and during our vacation in Vietnam our hotel recommended this cooking class and we did not think twice about it. We enjoyed our tour at Ben Thanh market wherein we had the chance to see how Vietnamese market works. Our chef was also very kind and accommodating. He taught us how to recognize and choose different herbs and vegetables. As a family, it was a great experience to bond with food and also culture. We had some complimentary Viet tea and the school gave us a recipe book so that we can recreate the dish at home.

This class was terrific. The staff were very professional and highly skilled. A different menu for each day allows the client to select dishes they would most like to prepare.

The market tour was informative and interesting. Our translator was knowledgeable and easy to understand. Chef demonstrated both basic and advanced skills and methods. The staff were patient and attentive. We had ample opportunities for hands-on preparation and cooking. To save time, some ingredients had been pre-prepared but this didn't distract from the overall experience. A thoroughly enjoyable class which provided greater insight into local food preparation.
