Guests say the class takes place in a tidy, authentic restaurant space that feels local and easy to find. The instructor is praised for being knowledgeable, friendly and supportive, guiding participants step‑by‑step even beginners. Learners enjoy a hands‑on format, preparing several traditional Malay dishes while hearing cultural background and history. They leave with printed recipes to recreate the flavors at home, often calling the experience a travel highlight.
Sarang Cookery welcomes you to our home built in 1928, to a trip down memory lane to a unique experience of history, culture, food & love from the 15th century. The Peranakan created the earliest fusion food, a blend of Chinese, Malay & Indian cooking techniques with local ingredients. With freshest ingredients, no added MSG.
