Great and delicious!

Learned about tempeh, balinese and javanese food profiles, different sambals, traditional cooking tools like the volcanic rock mortar and pestle. Food was tasty and chatting while eating the food together afterwards was also a lot of fun!

If you’re looking to truly enjoy Bali, its rich culture, warm people, and incredible food, this experience brings everything together beautifully in one place. Ayu and Irene and everyone in the family are amazing hosts, offering genuinely warm and welcoming hospitality that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The food was excellent, and the cooking class was especially enjoyable. The clear, step‑by‑step instructions made it easy to follow, even for beginners. Best of all, we shared the dishes we prepared together for lunch, which turned into a wonderfully relaxing and memorable meal. A Must Cooking Class!

Ayu and Irene made us wo welcome to their beautiful home. We learned an array of truly delicious authentic dishes though clear and skillfully teaching in their gorgeous kitchen garden. Ayu made sure everyone was involved in hands-on cooking and was so patient with our endless questions. We were amazed at the banquet that resulted from what seemed like an easy few hours. We really appreciated the deep knowledge of tempeh making and can't wait to go home and begin practicing. Thank you for the stunningly illustrated cookbook - Irene is a brilliant artist. This will definitely be used often back in our Melbourne kitchen with loads of happy memories of our day. If you are travelling to Denpasar, this class is a MUST.

A Special Cooking Experience

We spent the morning with Ayu & Irene in their beautiful home. We learned all about making tempeh and some beautiful Balinese dishes too. The ladies are beautiful and very knowledgeable and share information readily. We have participated in a few cooking classes in Bali over the years, however this one was the best we have ever done. The food was delicious and you get to participate and learn as much as you want. A special shout out to Kadek who does all the background work and is absolutely delightful. After the food is prepared and cooked you sit down in the beautiful outdoor cooking and eating area and enjoy it for lunch. We even took home leftovers! This is a special experience & one I highly recommend.
