Morning Thai Home Cooking Experience in Chiang Mai with Market Tour

What to Expect

Start your day with a fun and authentic Thai cooking experience in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at Daddy’s Kitchen. Your morning begins with a convenient hotel pickup, followed by a visit to a local Thai fresh market where you’ll discover traditional herbs, vegetables, and ingredients commonly used in Thai cuisine.

After exploring the market, you’ll head back to the kitchen to begin your hands-on cooking class with a local Thai chef. Each participant prepares their own dishes from a carefully selected menu, learning essential techniques and traditional recipes along the way. You’ll make a Thai soup, a stir-fried dish, and prepare curry paste from scratch before cooking your choice of curry, such as Green Curry or the famous Khao Soi. The class also includes learning how to cook sticky rice and preparing the classic Thai dessert—sweet sticky rice with mango.

The class is flexible and suitable for all dietary preferences. You can choose spicy or non-spicy dishes, and vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and halal options are available. Alternative ingredients can also be used to accommodate any food allergies.

Menu

Soup – Choose one from the following:

• Tom Yum Goong – Spicy and sour shrimp soup
• Tom Saep – Local hot and sour chicken soup
• Tom Kha Kai – Chicken soup with coconut milk

Stir-Fried Dish – Choose one from the following:

• Pad Thai – Thai-style fried noodles
• Kai Pad Med – Stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts
• Pad Kra Prao – Stir-fried chicken with holy basil

Curry Paste (Made from Scratch) – Choose one:

• Red curry paste
• Green curry paste
• Phanaeng curry paste
• Khao Soi curry paste

Curry with Chicken - Cook your chosen curry using the curry paste you prepared:

• Red curry with chicken
• Green curry with chicken
• Phanaeng curry with chicken
• Khao Soi curry with chicken

Sticky Rice

• Traditional Thai sticky rice.

Dessert

• Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango.

Schedule

• 8:30 AM: Pickup at your hotel (or at the appointed meeting point)
• 9:00 AM: Local market tour
• 9:30 AM: Arrive at our home cooking school, choose your menu, and take a short break
• 10:00 AM: Prepare and cook your soup and stir-fried dishes, then enjoy tasting
• 11:00 AM: Make curry paste from scratch and learn how to cook sticky rice
• 11:30 AM: Cook your chosen curry and prepare sweet sticky rice with mango
• 12:00 PM: Enjoy tasting your dishes, receive recipe book via QR code, and wrap up
• 12:30 PM: Return to your hotel
