Our Hida beef cooking class in Takayama with Kaori and her husband was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience. Kaori was an amazing teacher. She made everything easy to follow while still sharing helpful techniques and cultural insight. The meal we prepared was absolutely phenomenal—hands down some of the best food we’ve had in Japan. What made the experience even more special was how fun and welcoming both Kaori and her husband were. They created such a warm, relaxed environment that made us feel completely at home. You can tell they truly love what they do and care about giving their guests a memorable experience. At the end of the evening, we were planning to take a taxi back to our hotel, but her husband generously offered to drive us instead—such a kind and thoughtful gesture that really meant a lot. If you’re in Takayama, do not miss this experience. It’s more than just a cooking class—it’s a cultural experience, a delicious meal, and time spent with genuinely wonderful people.

The class was fantastic! The cooking was so much fun, and it was great to learn about Japan's traditions through food and the tea ceremony. After the class we went to the supermarket, which was a very cool experience as we learned of some ingredients that are not commonly used in Europe. Kaori and Yukiko are the nicest people, it was such s pleasure to spend some time with them. Highly recommend the class!
