We love food, and believe that we can use it to create and experience unforgettable moments. That’s why in 2017 we opened the Lisbon Cooking Academy, a school where everybody can learn and share their food experiences, always in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. We are a team of professional chefs who love to have guests from all over the world to share with them the best of Portugal’s rich and diverse gastronomy.
Lisbon Cooking Academy is located in the heart of Lisbon’s Estefânia neighborhood- a quiet part of town that is safe yet central. Just a 10 minute walk from the Saldanha metro station, where the red line and yellow lines meet, we’re only a short subway ride away from nearly any point in the city. Local residents make up the majority of this neighborhood’s foot traffic, providing students a unique opportunity to step away from the touristic spots of the city and experience first-hand the everyday life and flavors of the Portuguese people.
This is the best way to know the Portuguese gastronomy and a huge part of our culture.
We will meet at the Lisbon Cooking Academy and then we will walk to the local market (around 8-minute wal...

This is a fun way of to spend half a day in Lisbon. The marketing was nearly as much fun as the cooking and the eating is always good. Anna is knowledgeable on many aspect of Lisbon, not just the food, and happy to talk about everything. We had a great time and I would recommend it to anyone.
Rita was an excellent instructor and we enjoyed all three dishes we prepared. The Angel’s Double Chins were deliciously sweet. The wines were excellent. We look forward to making cod recipes at home as the bacalau salad was really nice too. The shredded chicken with potato and eggs was a dish we had never had before. Worth the visit.
Ana was such a great teacher! The class was fun and interesting, and she made sure the ingredients were not only easy to find, but also the most ethical and/or healthy. She was such a pleasure to learn from. I love her passion for food and teaching people how to cook. I'm so glad I took this class!
We take cooking classes occasionally and I would say this is the best ever! We learned all about the history of the foods in Portugal, we learned how to make authentic Portuguese dishes by doing it hands-on. The facility is spotless with state-of-the art equipment and appliances. She was delightful with her delivery and we had some great discussions about food and wine. We had some great laughs and truly enjoyed her company as we cooked and sat down to eat what we had prepared. We spent 10 days in Portugal and this was the highlight of our trip and we would recommend taking any of her classes!
The best cooking class that we have been to. Gonecarlos was wonderful. I highly recommend.
Had a fun filled cooking day with Ana. It was great to go to the local market and buy the ingredients before we started cooking. Ana is a great host, cook, and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our day. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to cook a traditional Portugese meal.
Fantastic experience! My husband, two teenage son's and I couldn't have been more satisfied. We felt at home right away!! We were engaged in the food prep, drank good wine and learned alot about Portuguese cuisine. The kitchen was clean and modern.
