Sobre nosotros
Pepian is one of Guatemala emblematic dishes, however on this cooking experience you will learn how to make the authentic Mayan recipe with a local family in a the beautiful colonial town of Santa Ana. A unique experience you won’t see at any restaurant or cooking school.

- Tamalitos (Accompaniment to the main course, Made with corn dough and chipilin leaves, a plant native to Mesoamerica)
- Pepian (Main course, Spice recado that combines Mayan and Spanish ingredients)
- Mole (Dessert, fried plantains with a sweet spiced chocolate sauce)
- Non-alcoholic beverage included and pure water
Programa
- Meet at El Tanque de la Unión to take a tuk-tuk.
- We arrived at the home of our hosts, Maria and Doña Guadalupe. They gave us an introduction to the importance of corn in Guatemala, its history, and its use in the daily diet.
- Start of the cooking session.
- When the food is ready we sit down to eat and enjoy what we have prepared.
- Return back to El Tanque de la Unión by tuk-tuk.

Unforgettable Experience!
Walking into her home, we were greeted with warm and welcoming smiles from Maria and her brother, Diego. She gave us aprons and began instructing us on how to make her family tradition Pepián and Molè. Oh my, the ingredients were full of color. The music playing brought a sense of being home cooking with family in the kitchen. And the best part was sitting together at the table after to enjoy our hard but fun work! The food was delicious but the experience of cooking and knowing the love and tradition that went into these dishes made it more hearty. I left with a smile on my face and a memory I will never forget. Thank you very much Rebeca, Maria, and Diego for such a wonderful experience!

Completely perfect cooking class!
I am so glad my friends recommended this class!!! I loved everything we cooked, Maria explained everything so well, and on top of those obvious desires in a cooking class, to feel so welcomed into Maria's home and with her family it was amazing. I would definitely do another class. Much love and blessings to Maria and her family.
Our guide and translator, Hosea, was really fun too!!

An Unforgettable Cultural Experience with Rebecca in Antigua!
Our tour with Rebecca was absolutely incredible! She was delightful, friendly, and so knowledgeable about Antigua and Guatemalan culture. We started with a coffee tasting where we sampled different flavors of locally grown coffee, each one better than the last! Then Rebecca took us to visit a local family who welcomed us into their home and taught us how to make traditional mole sauce with plantains. It was hands-on, authentic, and so much fun.
Rebecca made the entire day special. She shared fascinating stories, answered all of our questions, and created such a warm, welcoming experience. It was the perfect way to immerse ourselves in Guatemalan culture. A good time was had by all, and I can't recommend this tour enough!
