Felicity Yau Cooking Class

We went on a tour of Jordan Market where Feliz gave us very interesting information about local cooking practices and ingredients. We then walked to the café where Feliz taught us to make and cooking dumplings. She was very accommodating and helpful with my dietary restrictions, and explained everything very patiently. Definitely would like to try a different cooking lesson with her!

We chose the combo option and made 2 different types of dumplings which we then got to eat. The hands-on personal experience was awesome. We left the class confident that we could attempt this on our own when we returned home. If you like to cook this is a must do!

I enjoyed this class to learn more of jiaozi dumplings and xiao long bao. And boy did this not disappoint. Feliz is a wonderful host with great experience. With great experience I mean that she has been making dumplings her whole life since she was a youngster herself. You can really see this in the way she makes the wrappers for scratch -her ‘rolling the wrappers round’ technique is just beautiful- and the ease she has to just make the fillings of course but also the beautiful folding techniques. After making the dumplings you will devour them within minutes. Absolutely delicious. I enjoyed her class very much. If you seek a great teacher? Very interesting cooking class if you want to learn how to cook Xiao long bao and dumpling ! Feliz Yau pays attention to have top quality product (organic, fresh..). You will also learn which product to buy on the market. Must do in HK

The class begins with a local market tour which includes a visit to the noodle/dumpling wrapper store. The class utilizes both premade wrappers as well dough made from scratch by students. The precise and careful instructions were amazing and allowed to make perfect dumplings even though it was our first time preparing dumplings. Amazing class

We loved our experience learning to cook with Felicity. She was very accommodating for our first experience both in Hong Kong and making dumplings, and she even offered a vegetarian menu, which (as vegetarians) can be hard to find. The wet market tour was really insightful, and it was cool to see where all the ingredients are produced. The class itself was inside a really nice cafe allocated to just our class. Felicity talked us through every step of the process, and our dumplings turned out great! We would highly recommend Felicity’s class for anyone wanting to dig a little deeper into the local culture for an insightful culinary experience.

This was my Xmas present for my husband, and we enjoyed it very much. Feliz Yau is such an excellent teacher and we really learned how to make soup dumplings. Also, the wet market walk was instructive and interesting. We felt welcome and had a fun evening. Would do it again any time.

Very easy to learn techniques that can be adopted in any home kitchen.

I had very nice time at Felicity’s cooking class. Felicity makes you feel comfortable and she’s a good teacher: we first went to the market with her, then to her home, where the dim sum class started. We made together two kinds of filling (fish and vegetarian) and she showed us 3 different kinds of wrapping...then we boiled the dim sum and eat them together. It was an original and instructive experience in HK and I highly recommend it!

Dumplings are some of the most widely varied in Chinese cuisine with a huge benefit for working adults like me because they can be made in large batches and frozen. The lesson started with shopping for ingredients in the local wet market followed by cooking in her flat. Ms Yau provided an amazingly simple and healthy method of preparing dumplings. Although specific Veges and meat were used, she taught me that you can use various ingredients so long as some guidelines and tips were observed. She then taught me how to food dumplings in for different methods. We then boiled it (most healthy!) for a delicious reward. Highly recommended!

A great way to spend a few hours in Hong Kong making dumplings. Hands on class and you get to eat what you’ve made.

Felicity met us, a family of two adults and two children (12, 10), as advised and walked us through the local market. Then we were off to a typical Hong Kong apartment where she gave us a fun cooking class on the basics of traditional dumpling making- Felicity's family recipe!! The class was very hands-on, and she showed us several ways to wrap dumplings. The kids had a great time and we have already made the dishes again as we returned home.

The Cookly experience was great! Felicity accompanied us to the market, showing us the different types of vegetables, wrappings and pork stand. We thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make the dumpling filling and Felicity showed us how to wrap the dumplings in 5 different styles. It was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and the food was delicious. It was also nice to meet local people to get tips on what to do around Hong Kong. I would highly recommend the experience.

I really love dumplings and always look forward to learn how to make them. Felicity is the host of the class and she showed me how to make dumpling step by step, so it was very easy to follow. It's actually like a dream come true. When I got back to my home country and can make dumpling by myself and everyone in my family are loving it!

I have learned a lot from this dumpling making class. Felicity teaches me many different kind of dumpling both steamed and pan-fried. I learned each step from the beginning and also some techniques that make my dumpling more special.
