I had a wonderful experience with this cooking school. They were kind, authentic and joyful. I loved the surprises along the way and learnt so much. Definitely recommend!

Best part of the lesson was not only one. To go to a market with local, finding the fresh ingredient with knowledgeable teacher , and of course the taste of the dishes were so nice. It was one of the best part of my trip in Vietnam. Thanks to Evelyn and all the staff at the kitchen.

Our Cookly chef/teacher Emmy led us through a thoroughly enjoyable experience from buying the ingredients we would be using in the market near the cooking school to the prep and tasty eating of our cooking effort. Emmy was very helpful explaining what ingredients we would be using and how to prep it for cooking. In all we made 5 dishes that constituted a nice full Vietnamese meal: beef/brisket pho; bun cha; fried Spring rolls; green papaya salad and an “egg coffee” It was a fun and delicious cultural experience that will be useful to impress friends when we get home

Our teacher Bella was amazing, she was very thorough telling us all about the foods she was buying in the market and also very clear with the instructions. I'm neurodiverse so I can struggle with instructions but I followed along fine with no issues at all. The food was absolutely delicious and the class was very fun!!

Very good Teacher, We enjoyed the experience of cooking together and the quality of the dishes the we prepared. So, in the end, it has been a super lunch too!!

This was so much fun, we shipped, mad a lively meal and ate together . Emmy was a super teacher and great host. A last minute decision for us and so so worth it.

This was a great class. Learned so much, the instructor was amazing and spoke great English. The food was delicious and they handed us a colorful cookbook at the end. My only recommendation is to have the class from the day before start the broth for the Pho so it is more flavorful. But great class overall!!!

What an incredible experience! We joined this cooking class where we learned to prepare five authentic Vietnamese dishes — 1. Fresh Spring Rolls 2. Papaya Salad 3. Pho 4. Bun Cha 5. Egg Coffee The class began with a visit to the local market, where we picked fresh ingredients. It was such a fun and immersive way to start the day. Our instructor, Vy, was absolutely fantastic. She explained everything clearly, was patient and attentive, and made sure everyone felt involved throughout the session. Her passion and enthusiasm for Vietnamese cooking truly made the class special. The dishes turned out delicious, and we learned so much about local flavors and techniques. A highly recommended experience for anyone visiting Vietnam — fun, educational, and full of great memories!

Great experience!! From the walk through the market, to the preparation of the dishes. On one hand it was nice to see the market with all the products; On the other hand, discover the right ingredients for the dishes, as well as the techniques to prepare and cook them properly have surely improved my knowledge (even if it was short and limited to five dishes). I really liked the instructions about properly filling and folding the spring rolls! And the taste was amazing! Many thanks to our teacher Sunny!!!!! I loved the class!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the class. The shopping and wet market experience was fantastic. We learned a lot about Vietnamese ingredients and what to choose (green /ripe) fruits for. The cooking lessons were also very fun and a great way to learn. We enjoyed eat our home cooked feast at the end!! Highly recommend!!

Really enjoyed our class. We had 8 people in total which was a good size and we learnt some good techniques. Just the right balance of hands on but getting help (with cleaning and prep) made it an enjoyable time. Thank you.

The class was wonderful :) ruby gave our family a private class and even my 5 yo daughter and 8 yo could participate in the class. She gave us time to translate to them and really involved them. We got to cook 5 dishes and ate so much. The food was really delicious and we feel confident we will be able to do it again. We had enough for breakfast the next morning also! Would really recommend the class!

The cooking class with Ruby was fantastic. As soon as we arrived, we got started and went shopping together across the street. Ruby explained everything and shared her knowledge. There were six of us cooking, everything was incredibly well-prepared, and Ruby's guidance made it all very easy and straightforward. At the end, we enjoyed a delicious meal together and chatted for a while. All in all, it was a wonderful experience where you learn something new and are rewarded with amazing food. And Ruby was the best teacher you could ask for.

May was a great teacher, she really explained the history of the food we prepared and gave us many facts on ingredients and cooking technqiues. She truly involved all of us in the class and made sure it was as much fun as possible! The food was great and we made so much i could even take some home as a bonus :) Would recomend this class to my friends

The cooking class was very good, very well teacher named Vy. We were in a small group, only three persons and Vy explained very well how to buy the ingredients and what's important to regard for buying in Vietnam. There are of course other conditions than in Europe. After buying the ingredients we started preparing the dishes immediately no waste time for waiting and telling no sense stories, perfect. Vy showed us the right way to roll spring rolls, cut mushrooms, green papaya etc. prepared the base for Pho bo in fast way, throw the meat balls to get stronger......some secrets of the Vietnamese cuisine. The result of cooking was very tasty and the atmosphere in dining room was very relaxed and funny, and we got some more information about the way of living in Vietnam, not only cooking. Our recommendation in Hanoi, you should do it.

Rubi has been amazing on making us discover different types of coffee ! The special salted coffee is our favorite, you cannot find it everywhere ! We really appreciated the class, thank you so much !!

We did the five Coffee Workshop with Ruby. She was a friendly, knowledgeable tutor us a lot about Vietnamese coffee and culture and how to make different coffees. We received a coffee cookbook at the end and a snack in the middle of the Workshop, so that we didn’t get the caffeine jitters! Highly recommended!

Had a class here with Vy, super pleasant. She explained about coffee really well and made some really delicious coffee. They also have some really good vodka.

We did the egg coffee and coconut coffee class with Ruby. She was lovely and explained it all very well! Really enjoyed this class, recommend it!

I thought it takes too long time, but it was fun and very intensive that never felt boring. Meaningful and interesting activity to try in Hanoi.

Coco was a great instructor. We really got to know Vietnamese cuisine and the food was delicious.

I took part in this class because I wanted to learn how to prepare some of the most iconic local dishes and have a new experience. Chef "Coco" is amazing, and passionate about her job, she teaches with passion and her energy is contagious. She involves every student in the course giving them simple and medium tasks, helping strangers to interact with each other's. Plus I now know how to do the controversial egg coffee. 5 stars for the course, 10 to Chef Coco.

Ruby was fantastic. She was very informative about the history of Egg Coffee in Hanoi, and also about the differences between the robusta and arabica beans. I am so glad we did this for a final day in Hanoi. I can definitely recommend it to other travelers who may be a little bit short on time for a full cooking class. At 90 minutes for making the two coffees with a Báhn Mi included it is the perfect old quarter pit stop to learn a new skill and enjoy some delicious tradition!

This cooking class was a great experience. Our instructor Jane was very knowledgeable and made the class fun and interesting. The food we prepared was very tasty and we were offered rice wine, and a cook book at the end.

The instructor Jane was very nice and knowledgeable. She shared many tips and tricks about Hanoian cuisine. She knew well how to accomodate for vegetarian cooking and made sure I am ok with all the ingredients. The vegetarian food was prepared and kept separately from meat options. At the end of the class we enjoyed plenty of food, more than we could eat, so Jane offered some take away boxes. :)

Michelle Ly was a perfect instructor. Helpful when needed, very knowledgeable and always taking the time to make sure we understood all of the details. It was a great class and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an experience in Vietnamese cooking. The dishes chosen - including one vegetarian - gave us a good opportunity to learn things we could use at home and still learn about street food we were seeing every day in Hanoi.

My partner and I loved the cookery course and were surprised with how many dishes we cooked. We’re also big eaters and the feast we made as a team was enough to satisfy the hungriest of people! Our teacher (I think her name was Jane) was particularly great and her smiley, enthusiastic personality was infectious. Definitely will recommend to friends.

Excellent cooking class experience. In perfect location, well suited venue, very well prepared and menu to give a nice overview of Vietnamise cusine. This was an unforgetable evening. We were group of six and we had seperate kichen and teacher. (Another grupp of six was Cooking in another room at same time.) This was really convinient setup. Out tea her Siri was a true gift! She was a great cooking teacher as well as a very nice person. Her fluent english gave an extra value to whole event. Special thanks to you, Siri, from our whole geoup. Thanks to you we have now already few times cooked Pho, Spring rolls and egg coffe for our friends and had superb feedback.

We’ve never tasted vegetarian food so good! It’s hard to find such flavoursome vegetarian recipes. Cherry was an amazing tour guide, really enthusiastic and loved learning about her life/local life in Hanoi. Me and my sister cannot stop showing everyone pictures of our food. Our favourite was the tofu balls, which we will be making for our family as soon as we get back! Thank you so much guys!

I had an absolutely amazing time with Siri. When I showed up I realized I was the only one in the class which was a little unfortunate as a solo traveler as I’d been hoping to meet some people! However, my doubts were soon erased at Siri and I chatted and cooked and ate the night away! An absolutely amazing evening and I was able to learn so much about all the food we were cooking. Fantastic experience.

I'm so glad to be able now to cook vegetarian pho, vegetarian tofu balls, etc. It was really delicious.

Our guide, Siri taught us a lot of things about vietnamese food while going to the market. The cooking class was perfect : we learnt a lot of good cooking tips. But more important, we learnt the magic recipe for making a pho that tastes exactly like the one from the street (and without meat for us vegetarians !). Not just a touristic activity. Vick was very nice, dynamic and very open-minded. She spent time with us, answering all the questions and making sure we are all happy. She showed us fruits we did not know and we could try some.

We had Vicky. She was sweet, informative, and had a great sense of humor. With 4 people in our cooking class, it was the perfect, private experience. Siri was a great guide through the experience. Her English is amazing. She took us to the market to buy all the ingredients which was very interesting because she's got a lot of knowledge and we could ask all kinds of questions. The cooking itself went very smoothly and we enjoyed ourselves. You get step by step instructions and should be able to do it at home afterwards. The bathroom could be less disgusting but the cooking class was great @

Our instructor was Cherry and the class was a great way to spend a drizzly afternoon in Hanoi. The class was well paced, Cherry was very knowledgeable, the recipes are something that I can recreate at home and then the booklet given at the end meant we didn’t have to take notes and instead could just concentrate on listening and watching. Loved the hands on aspect. Would highly recommend!

I did the class with Cherry. She was sooooo lovely and nice. The time just ran away. We did Bun Cha, Pho, Springroles, Papaya-Salad and egg-coffee. All of my favorites. She explained very much in detail what to do and also suggest alternatives if I don't have those ingredients at home. The Cooking-Book with the recepeices looks very nice as well. This is a 100% recommendation! You won't disappointed.

Our cooking class was brilliant! The chef spoke great English and was very helpful, giving us all the information we needed to create our dishes. We first walked around the market to pick our ingredients which was fun! The food was really yummy too! Would highly recommend.

Class was well organized and prepared, fun and informative. The three of us learned a lot and enjoyed every minute. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. Food that we cooked was also very tasty, the Pho we made was the best we had in Vietnam (and we had Pho every day for two weeks around the country. Highly recommended.

Thang (Vicky) was our instructor for the night. She was so personable and sweet to us the whole night. We really enjoyed spending our last night in Hanoi learning how to cook various dishes and the techniques used by the Northern Vietnamese. We are excited to try these new recipes we have learned at home!

Gigi was such a wonderful and fun host! We had a great market tour, she did a great job of modifying recipes for those whom needed it (vegetarian, dairy free) and the food was delicious!

Our instructor Gigi was fantastic. First she took us to the market to collect fresh ingredients and shared info about the upcoming New Years traditions. She was very knowledgeable, professional and made everyone feel welcome. The cooking portion of the class was hands on and fun. This was our first activity in Vietnam and it was a great start to the trip.

A very intimate cooking class with a fantastic English speaking host who was amazing , from taking us to the market to buy produce, to being a tourism ambassador, to showing and explaining the cooking steps to some of Vietnam’s beautiful food . It was nice to connect with a local, and to be immersed into Vietnamese culture

We really enjoyed the whole class. There were only us (me and my partner) and another couple, so it felt a bit private and the teacher had enough time to explain everything to us and answer all our questions. The teacher took us to the markets first, explaining some of the ingredients and some other stuff we've seen there, then we headed to the school and started with a preparation and cooking. Everything was well explained. English of the teacher was outstanding, so it was really easy to ask anything we wanted to know. We had a great time and learned how to prepare some traditional vietnamese dishes. And they were fantastic! Really recommend this course!

We've met with our guide, Siri, and went to the local market to get the ingredients for the cooking class. It was a great experience in itself, and having a local tell you about the dazzling number of different fruit, vegetables and animal's parts was amazing. From there we went back to the restaurant and started cooking. We chose the traditional menu which was delicious and included fried spring rolls, prok meat balls, papya salad, pho noodle soup and Vietnamese egg coffee. Overall it has been a wonderful experience and an amazing way to learn about a new and very different culture and cuisine.

My son who just turned 15 and I thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class. Always wanted to learn more about Vietnamese food and this was a great introduction

Vicky was so informative! She was an excellent host, really friendly and inclusive. There were really good vegetarian options on the course, which was a relief because we’d found it quite hard to find vegetarian food out and about! Eating after cooking was really sociable, she had lots of interesting insights to share into Vietnamese culture and we’d definitely recommend it highly!

Love the whole experience from the shopping of ingredients, cooking to the eating. Teacher was great too - explaining the cooking process and the different ingredients whilst making it enjoyable.

Our host Sam took us to the local market, sharing lots of information and funny stories. Our class was very small but very enjoyable - I am happy there weren’t more of us. I don’t even like cooking (my friend signed us up) but I had a great time. Our host Sam was absolutely fantastic and we really enjoyed it. Food was yummy too but way too much so we couldn’t finish all of it. I really recommend it!

We had such a great time learning to cook with Mai! The dishes were exactly the ones I wanted to learn and all the ingredients are quite easy to find at home. Mai told us lots of little anecdotes about the Vietnamese traditions and food. My boyfriend who doesn't cook much was slightly sceptical about going to a cooking class but enjoyed it very much! Thank you!

Our host/teacher was great and easy to understand; we have to rush a bit but she managed to cover all. She did a great job!. The experience was good, however, the facilities were kind of basic for a group cooking class. I have worked several years in Food and Beverage then I will expect a cleaner place, we have paid more tan 30$ per person so at least they could keep the entrance,stairs and bathroom in a better condition.

Our guide and instructor Phoenix was super great! She was friendly and funny. She also made sure my dietary needs were met! I had a lot of fun and ate delicious food!

May is a super guide with perfect english. All the experience was well thought end the dishes were delicious.

This cooking class was great, learnt to make some awesome dishes and the best part is you get a cookbook at the end to help you recreate the dishes at home. Our instructor was the best! Very helpful and informative with a great attitude to help it feel fun. If anything, it could've been a bit longer so we could do more of the cooking (frying and bbq).

I did the cooking class together with a friend and it was one of the best experiences in Hanoi so far! Our cooking instructor Cinnamon not only told us about all the secrets of the Vietnamese cuisine but was also very fun to be around! We prepared 5 dishes ourselves. Since we are both vegetarian we could always choose a vegetarian alternative to the meal- dish. Awesome food- highly recommended!

I had cooking class with Cinnamon. It was wonderful. I did a lot of cooking classes during my travels, but this one really stands out positively. I am a vegetarian, I did not only cook traditional recipes that usually come with meat using, e.g., tofu, but also got to do a traditionally vegetarian dish. And I even managed to make my own egg coffee which I adore. Cinnamon is a wonderful instructor. She pays attention to one's needs and explains a lot about Vietnamese cooking and culture. And she has a great sense of humor.

Highly recommend this cooking class! In 3 hours Phoenix teached us the most important things. Atmosphere was great!

We cooked in the group and not everybody had their own cooking spot. It was fine and we had fun!

The class was amazing , as a chef i learnt tricks and new spices , really saw that vietnamese food is all about balance , the market walk was amazing and she explained lots of ingredients and how they use them , even bought us pineapple for breakfast and an duck egg to try on later , phoenix speaks impecable english and french and was very good at explaining everything and answering our many questions . There was a lot of food to eat at the end , and you can bring back the left over with you , she uses reusable plastic containers and paper bag which is very mindfull of the environement ! Highly recommend this class who covers all the typical everyday food you can eat !!! We loved it

My instructor Phuong was great. She took us to the market, explained what to buy, where to buy and how to buy the necessary ingredients to make the dishes. We then returned to the kitchen and cooked the meals with her. We made Pho, Buncha, papaya salad, egg rolls and finally egg coffee for desert. It was a great experience. We ate everything that we cooked. It was delicious. We were given a certificate and a cookery book. My only suggestion is to ensure the cookery book is printed properly. The one I received had a few pages where the print was not clear. So, I suggest all those who take the take the class to check the book before you take it with you.

We have really enjoyed our cooking class with Nhi - it was very interesting to see how the ingredients are sold by the local vendors and then preparing them. We learned a lot and enjoyed the tasty dishes we helped to cook.

It was lots of fun and the food was great. It was clean and our cook was very good at English. I would have wished that we were more involved in the cooking itself though.

I had a lovely evening! I learned a lot about ingredients and techniques and we were also chatting about everyday life in vietnam. It was so interesting and I am very happy to be able to cook 5 vietnamese dishes for my friends at home, which makes the best souvenier! The food was simply amazing and so delicious! This was a fantastic experience. Working as a chef for 15 years and a cooking teacher myself, I found it way above my expectations. Our instructor Thang spoke really good English and was really informative (loved the insight into the produce at the markets). I can highly recommend this and will probably do it again before we leave.

Our teacher was engaging, funny, informative and sweet. We walked around the market and she explained the dishes and some of the ingredients we hadn’t used or eaten before. In the kitchen we went step by step through each dish participating in the making of all 5 dishes. The food was fresh, the kitchen was clean and everything was delicious. We would definitely recommend this class!

We had a great experience with our guide Mai. She was very friendly and engaging and we got to learn a lot about how the food is prepared. Like other reviewers have said, it's more like an interactive demonstration where you participate in some steps rather than you doing every step yourself, but it was really fun and the food was delicious!

I am not good in English. But I met good friends who can speak Korean. Thanks to you, I was able to have a very interesting class. It was a class I really wanted to recommend to my friends visiting Hanoi. Thank you Nhi for your kind and fun class.

The course was very interesting. The outcome was very delicious. The instructor was very approachable and reactive. We very much enjoyed the experience ! One little remark: it is not a real cooking class where the participants get to create something from scratch. The participants rather spectate and assist with small tasks to the cooking process.

Our instructor and guide, Vicky, was knowledgeable and helpful. We loved the market tour portion of the class and would absolutely do this class again!

It's a three hour class with a market tour, so you aren't going to be getting super involved in the cooking. The staff does a wonderful job getting everyone involved in the cooking. The food turned out excellent. I would certainly recommend it.

Vicky who was our teacher provided such an amazing experience! We visited the markets and learned about the history and the different types of food on offer while we purchased ingredients for our lesson. This was so much fun. The lesson itself was really fun. We had read reviews of other cooking classes where they pre-make the spices and just get you to do the preparation of the ingredients (i.e. not really learn the important parts). Not at this lesson. You do everything from the ground up and even get a recipe book at the end of the lesson. Then at the end you get to eat a tonne of food which you prepared yourself.

Vicki was our guide & cook for the class. She was friendly & very enthusiastic. She brought us around the market first before returning to Aprons Up to start the cooking. We cooked 5 dishes in all, doing all the hands on preparations ourselves. At the end we were presented with a certificate and cook book with the recipes. There were 5 people in our class including my 15yr old son who really enjoyed it. We feasted on all the dishes at the end! The only negative was that it was a really hot day and the kitchen was very warm as doors were open to balcony for bbq. Thank you Vicki 😃

This was a really awesome thing to do with our day. We had a ton of fun going to the market and then learning how to cook several recipes. Mai was super sweet and so much fun to hang out with. Would definitely recommend!

Mai was incredible!! She was so smart and engaging, constantly asking us questions and having us participate in the process! We loved that we got to go to the market and learn about the food we were cooking, it really made the experience complete! She was a great chef and we learned so much about the culture, Hanoi and traditions within Vietnamese culture! All around an incredible experience!! Would totally recommend!!

We had a class with Nhi. She was very smart, friendly and informative about local Vietnamese food and culture. Her English was perfect as well. She made our entire class fun and exciting. You can learn many authentic Vietnamese dishes in a short period of time. The highlight ois you can eat delicious food you cooked at the end of class and you can keep the recipe provided for later. I definitely recommend a class especially taking with Nhi.

I’ve been to cooking classes when the teacher does much of the preparation without you; which doesn’t help you when you’re on your own. This class allowed us to cook everything ourselves. I also really enjoyed the trip to the market. Our guide talked about the food as well as the culture. It was fun and educational.

We did the tour with Vicky as our guide. Started off with a trip to the market, where we tried new food we never tasted before (like worms!) Vicky explained us a lot about Vietnamese food culture - a very interesting experience. After that we went back to start the cooking. Vicky explained all the steps in detail and helped us along the way. We made 5 delicious dishes! The amount of food was really good too, we couldn’t finish everything. We would highly recommend this tour!

Really blew us away

Linh the instructor was very thorough explaining in great detail why different ingredients were added at specific times what their western counterparts were called and explaining why we cooked differently ingredients in different ways. This all came together with a meal that was delicious and one I’m sure l will try to emulate at home- overall a very pleasurable experience with a great teacher.

Our instructor was very helpful giving us insights about the ingredients used at the markets. We also got to cook a good spread of dishes that were representative of hanoi. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and experience.

Our tour guide, Ly Thi Hong Nhi, went in-depth about the Vietnamese food culture and how food is prepared on a daily basis. The recipes were easy to follow, yet complex in flavour, and absolutely delicious! We truly enjoyed exploring the markets and learning the basis for Vietnamese cooking

What a lovely experience! Our wonderful guide, Nhi, was knowledgable and chatty. She told us lots about foods- the ingredients, routines and traditions, as well as providing more insights into Hanoi and Vietnamese culture. Most dishes the cooking was shared, so we didn't have too much input into the cooking. During this time however, Nhi gave us lots of information. I really enjoyed my cooking class with apron up in hanoi. my teacher was Thang (Vicky)and she did a fantastic job. first she showed us around on the market, showed us what to buy. back in the kitchen we were cooking vegetarian and non vegetarian meals. those were really delicious. I had such a blast at the cooking class yesterday. First we went to the local market for the food and Cinnamon told us all these facts about the Vietnamese culture which was very interesting to hear! The cooking class itself was amzing as well, Cinnamon speaks very well English and she is a good teacher. And ofcourse the food was amazing!! Very high recommended.

The class was more than I expected! All the food we cooked was, in the end, truly delicious. All fresh ingredients bought at a local market and great instructor. I would totally recommend it!

Had a great time learning 5 Vietnamese dishes to cook. First we went to the markets and bought some of the ingredients needed. Then we went back to cook. We had a great teacher and came out with so much delicious food we even took some home! First cooking class we've ever done but we'll definitely be doing more now!

The woman is great and the dishes are the most typical of Vietnam, so they are the most fun to learn. Everything is quite easy to follow and the result was the best Vietnamese meal I've had so far!

Thang was very sweet and knowledgeable! She explained my items at Dong Xuan market and I learned a lot! if I have a question that she cannot answer at the time, she will try to figure it out. I learned so many different dishes in a short amount of time! The assistant was very helpful also.

Wow! I cooked Pho Bo soup from scratch and it tasted the best of all the pho I have had in Hanoi. I love the tour of the market as well as meeting other tourist in the group lesson. Thank you Cinanmon for the lesson! We had fun!

I ended up being the only person who booked the class, but I still had an amazing cooking session, thanks to Nhi, who went above and beyond and made sure it was fun. A must while in Hanoi, would recommend to everyone!

This cooking class was (an is) awesome from the Market to the tasting (without forgetting all the preparation in the kitchen)! It's also nice because of the diversity and number of plates, the specific program and, of course, the teacher and her teammates who were (and are) really kind to answer to all the questions we had and to give us lot of advice to know how to cook (and reproduce it with the cookbook!).

The cooking class is a must do while traveling in Vietnam. I did it at the end of my trip and wished I had done it earlier. It is nice to finally know how the dishes are prepared and what kind of ingredients are in there. During the cooking class I discovered what I was eating all this time ;)

We learned to make Papaya salad, Egg coffee, Spring rolls, Pho and Meatballs. I chose this class because the menu was perfect and had my favourite Vietnamese foods. Our cooking teacher was super nice and made everybody feel like part of the group which was nice because I went solo. :) It was life-changing because I learned the right way to make egg coffee! 5/5

My teacher Cinnamon is very enthusiastic & kind! Her knowledge & English was good too, so there was none of the inconvenience at all :) From this class, we learned many about Vietnamese culture as well as great foods! Personally, I think bun cha of this class tasted better than Obama's bun cha haha! I recommend this class!

I and my boyfriend signed up to this class at the very last minute and we're really glad that we did. We met at the cooking school and were then taken to the market to see all the different food stalls and to pick up some ingredients that we would be using during the class. It was so interesting hearing about the various foods used in Vietnamese cooking, we learned so much. Our guide and Chef (whose name I have forgotten! I think it was Nee?) was excellent, her English was brilliant and she was a very patient teacher. We made beef pho, Vietnamese meatballs, spring rolls, and mango/papaya salad, all of it was delicious! We then sat down as a group to eat what we had cooked. I would highly recommend that people book this class, it was a fun experience, great value for money and it would be suitable for couples, groups or single travelers. Highly recommended!

I cannot praise Apron Up Cooking Class enough. I admired Vietnamese culture, the people and the food even more! We got to visit the local market and it was fun! The cooking class showed me glimpse of how simple and happy the Hanoian are. Even the preparation of the food was easy yet the dish was very detailed and rich in flavor. The instruction of the chef was very practical and useful and will definitely apply it to my cooking. It was very informative and had learned lot about Vietnamese cuisine. Me and my friends really enjoyed the five dish menu we made. It was totally a great bonding experience to us. We would highly recommend this course!

Vick our teacher was amazing. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She explained every step to us, every ingredient and the Vietnamese culture. The market experience was really insightful of the Vietnamese culture and very, very interesting. Vick showed us first how to do some processes and then we followed. This really helped. The class was well organised, prompt and hygienic. The meal afterwards was great, eating your freshly made food was just the best. Thanks Vick, we really enjoyed our experience!

We joined a group of about 8 participants, this made a lovely social class and we learned a lot doing the Vietnamese cooking. The guide/teacher was very good, both with the cooking and also discussing lots about Vietnamese culture etc. She has brilliant English, ask for her tip on how to pronounce "Pho"!

Ginger took us, as a small group, to the local market to shop for ingredients. She was so much fun and very informative. She taught us words and how to order, and gave us a history of the area. We went back to the business location in the Old Quarter, and prepared and cooked several dishes. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the end and left with a cookbook. It was well worth the time and money!

I can totally recommend the cooking class, we booked it with Mai and she was just sinply amazing. She explained everything in great detail was very forthcoming regarding everything. as a Tram we managed to cook a wonderful Vietnamese dinner with five dishes - and what we couldn’t finish we took via doggy bag.

Mai was amazing!! She was informative of the Vietnamese culture and food and was also very interactive in her questions. It was not a cheesy cooking class and we did a lot of the actual cooking. My only constructive feedback was that it was a very hot day and the kitchen does not have AC so we were super sweaty.

Su was incredible, I am vegan and she accommodated for me so well. The market tour was great and she told us lots of information about different vegetables and herbs as we bought them. The cooking was fantastic, she was clear and made sure everyone had a go cooking and doing bits of the cooking process. Would highly recommend!!

There's not much to say about the class other than that it is an amazing experience. Me and my friend met up with our hostess Mai to first shop around the market for ingredients before heading back to go cooking. Mai does an excellent job of leading you through the delicious dishes and is quite easy to talk to. We cooked 5 dishes: pho, bun cha (BBQ pork noodles), papaya salad, spring rolls, and egg coffee. It's probably the best meal I've had here in Hanoi up till now, especially the bun cha. If you want to have a good time and eat some great food, I suggest trying this cooking class out! (even if you can't cook that well, like me) ;)

We are glad we did this. It was a great experience - the market tour and the cooking class. So worth our time and what we paid for. Teacher Sue taught us well and she is very nice. We enjoyed every minute of it!

What an incredible experience! We walked through the busy food markets of Hanoi and picked out food while listening to our AWESOME tour guide Sue about how we were going to prepare each. Once we returned to the kitchen, we worked together to prepare 5 traditional Vietnamese courses that were so so delicious. I recommend this experience to anyone who comes to visit Hanoi, and be sure to ask for Sue!

Ginger was a great teacher, showing us around the markets and talking to us about all the different ingredients. There was a good mixture of dishes and we were given the recipes at the end so we didn’t have to remember them all, and Ginger sent me more recipes via email.
