요리 수업은 다양한 문화를 경험하는 정말 좋은 방법인데, 이번 수업은 기대 이상이었어요. 바구스 셰프님과 팀원들은 정말 훌륭한 호스트였습니다. 저희 그룹은 다양한 국적의 사람들로 구성되어 있었는데, 모두 잘 어우러져 즐거운 시간을 보냈어요. 웃음이 끊이지 않았답니다. 아, 그리고 음식도 정말 맛있었어요! 꼭 추천하고 싶고, 발리에 다시 오게 되면 꼭 다시 참여하고 싶어요.

From pick up from hotel by Alfons to drop off and everything in between brilliant. Chef Bagus was welcoming friendly funny and explained cooking techniques really well. He accommodated my friends garlic allergy along with other patrons request for less spicy. All up 10 dishes, hands on preparation and cooking, a takeaway recipe book and way too much food- able to takeaway leftovers. Great morning activity and lucky we only had 8 in our group.

A really fun thing to do, chef baggies is a big personality and made the cooking experience fun. His staff are so nice too. Made lots of different dishes and sat down as a group after wards to eat it all. Chef has lots of knowledge and explains the ingredients and techniques for each dish. We were in a group of 14 so the hands on part a little more limited so that everyone gets a turn but it was a great value for money, interesting g fun experience. Definitely recommend

Chef Bagus was very entertaining! While teaching us how to prepare Balinese food he managed to weave in stories about his life, cultural protocols and adventures. It was the highlight of our trip.

Fun and informative 3 hours with Chef Bagus, who keeps things moving with a good set of stories and informative chat. Fast paced, with no extended time chopping or grinding and a really good lunch at the end.

A fun and entertaining morning with fantastic food. I went there in February 2024 and had a fabulous time and went back this time with my sons. The whole event from pick up to drop off is extremely well organised and to be honest, i cannot recommend it enough. One important tip, Do not eat before you go. The food is out of this world. Thank you Chef Bagus and team, we loved it.

Everything was well organized, professional staff. What I disliked was the big group and way too many dishes. Because of that, you didn’t cook your own meal but you could only lay hands on some small techniques during the class, that’s it. So to me it didn’t really feel like I ‘cooked’…

I read previous reviews and booked based on the fun other people experienced with this cooking class. We weren't disappointed, whilst learning techniques and helping create about 12 recipes, there were a heap of laughs along the way. Don't expect to visit the fresh food market to purchase ingredients because everything is prepared to start cooking. It was so organized, and his team were always on hand to help and clean things away. You taste the creations as they're prepared but at the end, you have a table full of food to share with the group. There was so much good quality food that not everything was eaten. A fantastic morning and would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this cooking class. I learnt much about Balinese cooking and dishes. There was plenty of invaluable information to take home and Bagus was humorous and very knowledgeable. This class is a must for anyone who enjoys cooking and wants to learn how to cook Balinese dishes.

Chef Bagus is one of a kind, funny and knows his stuff! If you're in Bali it's definitely an experience I recommend. Eat small before going, you won't fit a bite in after you're done.

My mum and I joined the cooking class with Chef Bagus. The class itself was fun and very informative. I would call this more of a cooking tutorial than a class, based on my previous experiences with cooking classes around the world. Individually you do not get to cook any meals (ie individual cooking stations) but all the group participate in the (many) variety of dishes and you end up mostly watching how things are done. Everybody sits together for a lunch of all the dishes afterward prepared by Chef Bagus' staff and you receive a certificate and recipe booklet.

It was a great experience, learned a lot, hands-on. The chef was great and made the class fun. A friendly group from all over. Sat down to eat what we prepared. Got a recipe book and a certificate. Will definitely do it again

Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) thoroughly enjoyed this experience with Chef Bagus. Not only is he a great chef, but he is a great host and entertainer also. We learned some great Balinese dishes that we can and will try when we get home, and he even shared with us some general cooking tips and hints. The food we sampled and ate at the end of the session was simply divine, and we will definitely be returning to his restaurant for another meal when we come back to Bali in the future.

The cooking class was again a lovely experience. Chef Bagus really knows what he is doing, he has eye for everybody and gives good explanation. It is really a great class to follow. I would recommend it to everybody. What I find a pitty is that we did not go to the market to by the ingredients. In the past we did this and this gives the experience something extra and makes it completely for me.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. We were taught about Balinese food & the importance of the ingredients. Chef Bagus is a Masterchef, the whole cooking school was very hands on and with the assistance of his happy, courteous staff it is a great experience.

We had a great morning at the Chef Bagus Balinese Cooking Class - our 9 year old son came along too and Chef Bagus was really accommodating and included him in many activities. It's a mix of hands on cooking and cooking demos with some fantastic general cooking tips from Chef Bagus. The feast at the end was delicious and we went back to eat at the restaurant a few days later.

Enjoyed the time with Chef Bagus and his team. They were helpful and informative. Got to watch or be part of preparing some really tasty and often eaten dishes, including their sauces. Only mistake I made was to eat breakfast before the class! Food was delicious. Even though the class was quite large (18) I’d still highly recommend for anyone wanting to try some Balinese menu staples.

We had a fantastic time. 2 adults and 2 teenagers and the food we cooked was amazing. We got taught the different ingredients we could use a substitutes back home just in case we couldn’t find the exact ones.

It was a fun entertaining class where I learned a lot of interesting cooking techniques. I was worried because I don't eat meat that I wouldn't have much to eat but the chef made sure I had my own platter of foods that I could eat -which was very thoughtful. Chef Bagus was great at getting everyone involved, there were 13 people in my class in total. He was telling a lot of jokes and he had a team of staff that helped us with different aspects of the food preparation. You don't get to learn each dish yourself but we take it in turns doing different parts of the preparation. Most of the chopping, dicing has been done for you. We were told pick up was between 8.00-8.30am but we didn't see the van it must have come outside of these times - we easily able to make our own way to the cooking class and were told that there was transport to return us home if required. It says it is a 4 hour cooking class but it is actually a fair bit shorter, but you pack a lot into that time and learn so much.

The driver arrived on time to take us from Novotel Benoa to the Cafe. Chef Bagus was very engaging and explained everything well. Plenty of recipes were cooked and eating at the end was great! We got to keep a small recipe book for everything we cooked. They also provided a driver home. I would recommend the class to anyone.

It was a fabulous session but you advertise it as a 4 hour course but it wasn’t. It didn’t matter as we had so much fun with Chef Bagus.

Cheg Bagus is a witty, entertaining but a great chef willing to share his recipes ,,,,,(ribs and bbq sauce!!! and other,) with a small group who will learn hands on. Finishing with a sit down lunch to share the recipes. Best morning ...do it.

It was a very fun experience for me and my family. We learnt to cook authentic Balinese dishes and Chef Bagus was amazing and entertaining. I liked how he organised the different segments such that all will get to participate and get hands on. Even kids participated. The staff were warm and helpful. Amazing service. And it all ended with us tasting all the wonderful food that we cooked.

I actually appreciated not having to stand in a hot kitchen for several hours and just observing half the time. When we arrived at the class we had a drink and a special treat then chef Bagus introduced himself . we cooked nine different dishes during the course we were tasting different bits and Then and we sat down to eat restaurant style meal that we had all cooked absolutely amazing and we got a certificate at the end. My husband and I had a wonderful time at Chef Bagus Cooking Class the other day. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to his restaurant where we spent the next 5+ hours with 14 wonderful people. We created 12 authentic Balinese recipes together and enjoyed a wonderful feast together at the end. We even learned the secret recipe to his world famous ribs :) Chef is a wonderful man and makes the class very fun and entertaining. His staff is also amazing and very helpful. Highly recommend!

Chef Bagus and his team were fantastic to work with. The class was fast-paced with lots of humour thrown in. You don't make every dish yourself from scratch but you still get enough hands on practice with various things. Chef Bagus shows his 30+ years of experience clearly in adapting the class on the spot for vegetarians or gluten free participants. One lady brought her primary school age son along, and Chef made sure he got involved with mixing ingredients and reading recipes. A fun way to spend the morning.

The class started with a tour to the local food market . In total we collectively made 10 dishes. The chef and the restaurant staff were very helpful and interacting with everyone. I enjoyed the class; it was very informative about the Balinese food culture.

Very well conducted, great experience And a lot of fun

Had a great time, firstly picked up by a driver and taken to the market where one of Chef Bagus staff went through the various ingredients. Then to the restaurant and given a cold drink and some sweet breakfast dumplings. Then we started the course, we all introduced ourselves and donned the apron before Chef Bagus introduced himself and his illustrious career. Then the day started with Chef Bagus teaching us various recipes with all of us taking turns in helping prepare and cook the food. The day ended with us sharing the banquet of beautiful Balinese favourites and then we were given a certificate and then dropped back at our hotels. What a wonderful day that I will recommend to all my friends and family. Would definitely do it again. Thank you Chef Bagus and all the wonderful staff

There were too many people for one class. There was supposed to be pork ribs however there was not. Was fun but couldn’t enjoy trying to work your way through other people.

We had so much fun in Bagus his cooking class. Would highly recommend this class. The market tour with the sous chef was a great kick-off, where we learned a lot about local products and herbs in an authentic enviroment (which is hard to find these days). We got to smell the herbs and made nice pictures of this wonderful scenery. Afterwards we walked to Bagus’ restaurant and had an amazing breakfast. Then we prepared 10 Balinese dishes, in a very informal and fun way. At the end of the class we ate it all and received a certificate. At 1:30 PM we were dropped of back in our hotel. Unforgettable experience!

Loved the whole ecperience

Read the reviews and decided to do this Bali cooking class. Wasn’t disappointed. Started with a pick up from my hotel and a local market talk and tour. Fairly big group with lots of different nationalities doing this class. Chef Bagus and Patrick kept us entertained with their banter and tips on cooking. Made some amazing Balinese dishes, which we had for our lunch. Very enjoyable and glad I chose this cooking class. Highly recommend 😊

Enjoyed the group. Good organization so everybody got a try at cooking. My daughter is vegan and I am vegetarian. Not a lot of choices for us in the cooking segment. They did provide us with nice good food to eat at the end. I would probably choose a class that doesn't use meat next time. It was hard for my daughter and I to see meat cooked and we didn't want to handle it. So if you are vegan or vegetarian I would choose a different class. Otherwise very satisfied with the class. They provided free transportation which was nice.

Entertaining with amazing food.

The class was definitely good, I would like to make a suggestion and have smaller classes with the chef, although I’m quite shy and a vegan I wanted to ask him so many questions but was unable to due to the size of the class. But all in all my dietary requirements were catered for and the food was amazing.

We met at the local market in Kuta where we got a short introduction to the ingredients used in the recipes. Back at Mr. Bagus warung his staff have already prepared everything. Cooking 10 different meals in about two hours was the plan, so everything felt a little rushed. Don't get me wrong, it was fairly entertaining, but to me, visiting a cooking class means that you actually cook by yourself and not playing the helper for the chef, handing over ingredients or stirring the pot. In the end you enjoy the food together with the rest of the group and get a certificate for the completion of the class.

This class is a must for everyone, it gives a good understanding of what makes up Bali quisine and is great fun at the same time. Chef Bagus is great he makes the whole thing thoroughly enjoyable and the lunch is just fantastic. Highly recommended to everyone.

영어 실력이 좋지 않아 수업을 따라가기 어려워서 아쉬웠어요ㅠ 대부분 호주 사람과 캐나다, 남아프리카 사람이고 바구스 선생님은 영어에 능통해서 소통에 어려움이 없었습니다. 영어에 익숙하지 않은 동양인에겐 적합하지 않은 수업 같고 무엇보다 만든 요리들이 몇가지를 제외하고는 썩 입맛에 맞질 않았습니다. 제일 맛있었던 것은 옥수수입니다.

The cooking course exceeded my expectations. It was a wonderful morning spent with the master of cooking. I taught Balinese cuisine not only to cook but also to feel. Also, visiting a typical market diversified the course. I thank the whole team and organization. I would certainly like to attend the course again when I visit Bali.

We had an amazing experience. Chef Bagus has a huge personality which was only surpassed by his cooking ability and the art of making everyone join in and become a cooking club member for the day. Patrick who conducted the market tour immediately made everyone welcome. His ability to educate us all in short time was amazing. We really enjoyed our time at the cooking class. There were about 19 people in our class so we didn't really have a lot of "hands on" experience. It was also a little hard to hear our guide at the market due to there being so many in the group. We really appreciated them picking us up and dropping us back after the class. The lunch was absolutely amazing and we would definitely recommend to our friends.

Great experience going through the traditional market before learning 10 dishes from the chef himself. The class took turns at food preparation and we got to have a sumptuous lunch from the food that we have prepared. Chef Bagus was engaging throughout and shared loads of tips on cooking! Fun experience learning local dishes!

It's like taking a cooking class with a comedy act going on at the same time, Chef Bagus, is so entertaining , his cooking skills and knowledge is incredible, and all the staff take time out to help you along the way,and then Patrick, or should you call him Patricia comes along.( you'll have to take the class to find out....). A fantastic experience for those of you who burn toast to "complicated cooking" this class should be on everyone's to do list!

The Chef Bagus cooking class was great. Definitely recommend. I looked around at different classes on offer and chose this one due to market tour and length of time cooking, others seemed to be 2 - 3 hours.

Chef Bagus' class was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Bali.

My only comment is that perhaps people should be asked to wash or sanitise their hands prior to starting. Although we used gloves at times there were occasions where food was passed round to taste from hand to hand. ie the chilli tasting. Other than that the whole experience was amazing. Will highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time with Chef Bagus and his wonderful team. It was such a great opportunity for our family to spend time together as well as meeting other people with a love of food. Chef Bagus makes it such a fun experience and best of all the most delicious food.

What an amazing class! We were picked up from our hotel in the morning and were driven to a local market where we were told all about the local fruit and veggies. We were then taken to the restaurant to commence the cooking class. We had eaten here multiple times before which is what prompted us to want to do the cooking class. We were greeted by the chef himself who is so friendly and welcoming. We were served stick rice dumplings for breakfast which was one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted! We then we're shown and participated in cooking multiple dishes all while having many laughs with the other students. To end we were treated to a feast of everything we had learnt to cook during the day. It was lucky that the class included transport back to our hotel as we were too full to walk!

From pick up to drop off no dramas the day was knowledgeable we started with the markets that was a eye opener, Patrick looked after the group he was great ,the day is hands on and really fun, chef bagus was funny he involves everyone in the class and you get plenty of tastings as you go. The staff were extremely organized, quick to assist, and friendly. Chef Bagus was hilarious. He was extremely knowledgeable and taught us so much about the ingredients we were using. His personal anecdotes helped us get to know him as a friend, not only as a teacher. The food was amazing too. It was great that they pre-cut all ingredients and had us do everything as a class. This allowed for no one to get stuck behind or for others to have to wait for anyone struggling. Instead, we worked as a team and did well with it. If you are looking for an authentic Balinese cooking experience, then you have come to the right place. Chef Bagus was kind enough to let me and my family experience the best in Indonesia. We had a visit at the local market and we were able to select and know some locally grown ingredients. People around were so kind and smiling. We were also given welcome drinks upon arrival then a short intro about Indonesia and its food culture. We definitely saw the passion of Chef Bagus in helping us appreciate their culture. Our vegetarian requested was catered and it did not disappoint us. We went home carrying our learning and experience.

Chef Bagus Balinese cooking class is a must for anyone visiting or revisiting Bali. They come and pick you up, and drop you off, along with feeding you lunch (Which you will prepare in the 2 hours your with Chef and all the Pappa and Mamma Bali's. You will be involved in most aspects of the cooking class, which include many cooking techniques, use and of locally sourced produce, along with plenty of tasting sessions (Not so many that you don't eat your lunch). Its really good fun guys, so if your looking to learn, and have a good giggle, this is definitely the class for you and truly deserves the 5 Stars!! Pickup Service (in Canggu) was nice, though the driver was 30min early, but very nice. We were driven to a local market, where we were told a lot about Balinese cooking traditions. The market was authentic! Lots of fresh veggies and fruit and chicken parts. But we didn’t buy anything there, were driven to the restaurant where Bagus, the chef, welcomed us. He didn’t get tired to tell the food we were about to cook was NOT from the market, which was nice on the one hand (market was not thaaat clean etc) but on the other hand, then why did we go there (1st) and besides, there were so many Indonesian people buying their everyday food from the market and it was kind of disrespectful of him to belittle the people there and the market in general (especially because it is part of his program, but ok). So after 10min of Bagus telling us his amazing life story of aaall his achievements, we were told more interesting facts about Balinese cooking. Everybody got a name tag and apron (not to keep tho). He showed us all the ingredients, epecially the spices, explained a lot and I really loved this part. You really get to smell a lot! It was great teamwork. We prepared a lot ourselves even though everything was cut and chopped for us. Still, so much fun. Some meals were prepared and then cooked while others were ready immediately and we could try and taste them. Great! Some were a little spicy, but I‘m very sensitive when it comes to chili, everybody else was fine haha. Then we had lunch together at a huge table, sharing all the food we prepared before. It was so much! There were some people joining us that had not participated in the course, I don’t know? But was enough. More than enough! And so tasty! Everybody got a certificate and with alittle rough ending a driver for me was ordered. Not an expensive taxi, but a Grab at a fair rate! Thanks for this! Would recommend!

Would have love more hands on experience but with the time and number of dishes won’t be possible. Chef Bagus is great in getting participants learning how to follow a recipe (very fundamental step in cooking!) and also suggest replacement ingredients for those not from the region.

My husband and I are in Bali celebrating our 30th anniversary. We decided to do a cooking class with Chef Bagus and were not disappointed. We had a fantastic fun time with a great group of people and enjoyed it very much. I struggled with the heat when on the market tour but was very well looked after. This class is more like a demo class, no hands on experience for every dish. However, chef Bagus did actively engaged everyone in the class by rotating participants to join in hands-on for different dishes. Class was informative, light-hearted and fun. Pickup and drop off service was a value added service. Food served during lunch was really generous. Worth giving it a try in bali!

Today Julie and I took a Balinese Cooking Class and Market Tour with Chef Bagus.... In hindsight having a big night last night with way too many Bintang was probably not the best idea before doing a traditional local market tour... The heat and the smell was let’s say a bit overwhelming to say the least but we survived. The cooking class itself was excellent with us learning how to prepare and cook eight different Balinese dishes. Chef Bagus and his staff were fantastic... our class was made up with people from eight different countries we learnt so much in one morning with so many laughs along the way before we sat down to eat the Banquet we had just prepared.

From the moment they pick you up to the hotel, to eating the 10 traditional dishes you make with your colleagues, the Chef Bagus experience is unlike any other. Chef and his team are kind, informative and hilarious. Cooking should always be this fun. The ingredients are fresh -- they take you to the market first to learn about the local flavor that makes Balinese cuisine so tasty -- and the entire process is well thought through and organized. You really do a lot in the 3 hours you spend together (not including eating). Highly recommend to anyone visiting Bali who needs a short break from the beach and the party scene.

Booked this class as part our Bali trip to try something different. Chef Bagus was a riot - we had a class of 15 and it was such a fun and interesting thing to do. He is very funny and inclusive - he was aware of everyone getting involved. We made 10 dishes - and to be honest we did all the fun stuff like learning how to wrap meat in banana leaves , grinding the spices etc. We met some lovely people and had a delicious lunch at the end and then delivered back to our hotel. It was a fun way to spend a morning and I would highly recommend it. 👍🏻👍🏻

Not only was the class very hands on, but Chef Bagus made the experience so much fun. He made sure to include everyone in the process of making all the dishes and kept things light and very humorous. Definitely recommend!

I loved this cooking class. Chef Bagus was informative and entertaining. It always amazes me that people can be funny and most probably repeat their anecdotes daily but still make it sound fresh to us! A chef and a comedian! His staff were also funny and informative with a great banter with Chef Bagus. My son was sick during the market tour and they helped with getting him comfortable and cool as quickly as possible. Oh! and the food was also great! We didn't waste time chopping but learnt about spices, cooking meat and folding banana leaves!

Chef Bagus and his other chefs were attentive to our needs and very entertaining. The class was very educational and geat value for the cost. It was a total experience!

Enjoyed our time with Chef Bagus and his team. Learnt a lot about Balinese cooking and the various spices and techniques. Especially enjoyed the interactive way the course was run with people from various backgrounds making it interesting. It was a pacy format without wasting time on cutting and preparation as this was handled efficiently by the team and allowed us to be involved in the actual cooking process. The market tour was very interesting as well, a good insight into how the local Balinese go about their day to day food shopping. Eating our creations was also a treat!! Chef Bagus is a very engaging host and has an obvious joy and commitment to Balinese cooking and spreading the word. Would highly recommend this experience.

I booked this tour with a friend, and we ended up in a group of 14 people. We were so impressed by the professionalism of the team overall - the enthusiasm and passion Chef Bagus has for food and for teaching people about food, is infectious. He was a fantastic, engaging presenter who was conscientious in his attention to detail while still taking opportunities to keep the class fun and entertaining. My friend and I had a great morning, and we’re looking forward to trying to recreate the dishes back in Australia.

Great cooking class. I learned a lot about the balinese kitchen and the dishes were all delicious! I can also recommend it for people with coeliac disease (or gluten sensitivity) like me. Chef Bagus prepared almost every dish we cooked in a glutenfree version for me and we even cooked a curry only for me.

Was a great experience, he was informative and had a great personality to keep it light-hearted and interesting. The food experience was hands-on as much as possible and was packed with flavor. Well worth it and the highlight so far in Bali

The entire day from the pick up to the final farewells was a must do. We had a playful and knowledgeable chef in Chef Bagus who took us through an educational and fun cooking experience. The group was a great size so we felt that all received equal attention and information. This is a hands on class and a lot of fun. Would recommend for beginners and experienced. Have done some classes around the globe but this one will be memorable for the insight and the fun we all had.

We booked the cooking class as a group of 8. Chef Bagus was a professional, knowledgeable and experienced chef, and taught a great class with a light-hearted and entertaining atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and spoke good English. We were picked up from our hotel promptly at 8:30am and taken to a local food market for an informative tour about Balinese produce and ingredients we would be using in the class. After that we were driven to the restaurant where we learnt to prepare a comprehensive range of Balinese food through 10 different dishes. This included being able to eat them at the end of the class at lunchtime with our fellow participants. After lunch, we were driven back to our hotel, arriving at about 1:30pm. The cooking was reasonably hands-on and the recipe book was included as well (although this didn't include the restaurant’s famous pork ribs but I don't blame them for keeping that recipe a secret!). It was well worth the money for a very enjoyable and fun experience. The restaurant was clean and spacious enough for the number of people in the class. I think there were 17 participants that day and Chef Bagus did well to ensure everyone got a chance to cook. Our only gripe was that during the day the staff kept asking us if we wanted drinks and only at the end did they mention only the first drink was free. I think the whole class thought all the drinks were included in the price (USD34) of the class as the way they were asking us felt as if they were offering them. Just a suggestion that it wouldn’t hurt for them to state this. The drinks were reasonably priced but it was more just the surprise which left a slightly sour aftertaste to what would otherwise have been a perfect experience.

My partner and I absolutely loved the class had a lot of fun! It’s very hands on and a lot of great information was told. We also went back for dinner and that was amazing as well.

It was a really nice experience. The market tour was very interesting and Chef Bagus is really funny and we learned how to cook (and eat) delicious Balinese dishes. I'm really glad we did the class :)

Good experience: We learned a lot and Chef Bagus is funny and professional. We had a very interesting experience. However, it would be better if we would be fewer. we were 17! Even if cheap, we found it sad to have to pay for the soft drinks while gently proposed at the beginning and while the activity costs 30€...Quite a lot in Bali

The chef was very entertaining and involved everyone in the preparation of the many dishes.He was very informative with respect to food and food preparation.The meals we prepared were delicious and practical in that they can all be made at home using the recipes in the book provided. I highly recommend it.

Loved the tour of the market place learning what some of those strange fruit and vegetables actually are that we've seen in other markets. The cooking class was good giving an overview of the recipes in the booklet you take home. Right pace and length of time, Chef Bagus is entertaining. Class finished with a huge feast. Would have liked to have gone there for dinner before attending the class. Highly recommend.

We had a great time at the class. Everything was perfect and the chef was so interactive, we had a good laugh and learnt a few things.

This was my first ever cooking class, so my girlfriend and I didn't know what to expect - and this class blew away any possible expectations! Chef Bagus is an impressive fellow, and runs the class with appropriate knowledge, humour and fun. We loved every second of it, and tonight I'm actually using the recipes Chef Bagus taught us to cook Mi Goreng (my fav) for the first time! Would 10000% recommend.

Chef Bagus is a wealth of knowledge and experience, with a fantastic level of charisma. Not only was the cooking class informative, but he made it a lot of fun also. He doesn’t waste time with chopping or preparing ingredients (confident that anyone willing to sign up for a cooking class can handle these steps themselves) and instead focuses on the cooking. We made 10 different recipes in the short time together, with lots of explanations and mountains of hands on cooking time. I know the cook book and techniques discussed will come in handy for many meals to come. My only criticism was a potential lack of preparation for a vegetarian participant - prawns/shrimp were used as a substitute for meat, without it seeming like a real alternative available should they not have wanted to eat shrimp. On the plus side, for me at least, it meant we got to taste a recipe in both a chicken and shrimp variety, which I enjoyed. I highly recommend this class for any meat eaters, and would simply suggest extra planning with the team ahead of time for any vegetarians.

Chef bagus is funny, friendly and really good at engaging his students. We made so many dishes on one morning! (Of course the kitchen prepared most parts of it, and also the cleaning). The market tour prior to the class also gave me some insight on Indonesian culture and lifestyle. We all had fun!

Would recommend this to anyone of any age, don't stress if you can't cook. This lesson focused in teaching you about Balinese food and cooking in general. Plenty of hands on, but the dishes are finished by a crew of professional chefs, so if you over season your dish they will rescue you. So in the end you will learn, be entertained and enjoy some fantastic food. Chef Bagus has set a high standard for all cooking classes.

I loved this cooking class. Everyone was so friendly and skilled and they explained a lot about the cuisine and ingredients. They had already prepared everything, so that we could get straight to cooking. They even arranged (and paid) for a taxi when their car was already full. Such great service! Smooth class great to learn about Balinese culture and global food information! I’m keen to try these recipes on my friends at home. Took my 8 year old and he had a great time even though he left the class and came back chef made him feel included!

My mother and I had a fantastic time from being picked up, exploring the local market, cooking great Balinese food and enjoying our lunch. I had a very fun morning joining the cooking class. It started off with the tour of old Kuta traditional market by Pak Budi - who is a very friendly and nice person. He explained a lot about Indonesian-Balinese spices and cuisine. We then proceeded to the restaurant where Chef Bagus had waited for us. Everything was very well done and organized. You probably won't get to do too much with your hands but everyone will have turns in making the different dishes throughout the day. Chef Bagus himself is a real people person who's very fun to be with for children and adults, besides of course being a great chef! We had so much food in the end and they were all very very good! I'd definitely recommend both the restaurant and the cooking class.

Chef Bagus was just fabulous. We learnt a variety of different recipes, which after preparing we all enjoyed as lunch. He had a great sense of humour and kept the class not only entertained but interested for the whole time. He was very informative and the class was extremely hands on. . Although we had a vegetarian in our group, this was a positive as we learnt a few extra vegetarian dishes that were not normally part of the course. On a whole I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to experience real Balinese food and leave with the tools, knowledge and a recipe booklet to recreate these recipes once you get home.

This was the most fun cooking class I ever took. We learned how to prepare traditional dishes, but also a lot about Indonesian cuisine in general. Everything we made was really delicious, and I can see myself repeating these recipes often.

Picked up from our hotel and taken to a local market. Explained some of the different produce that we don’t have in Australia. Chef Bagus was very entertaining, informative and included us all in the preparation of 10 traditional Balinese dishes. The experience was topped off with enjoying a yummy lunch of the dishes we’d prepared and dropped back to our hotel. Can not recommend highly enough. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

The host was a great laugh but we felt we didn't do much of our own cooking. The host would get the group to cook only a small part of the meal.

The day started out with a tour of a traditional Bali food market, we then headed to meet chef bagus at his restaurant(Warung Chef Bagus). What a wonderful day we had full of culture, amazing food and so many laughs!! Such a great experience, highly recommended!

I would like to thanks chef Bagus and his team for this great experience. We started by visiting a local market with one of chef bagus staff. It was very interesting to visit this local market in order to see smell and understand the spices of Balinese cooking. We were a small group of 5 people which was very good. We went to chef bagus restaurant for our cooking class. Chef bagus is very knoledgebla on Balinese cook8ng and we cooked several dishes and then we eat what we cooked it was fantastic food. Very friendly atmosphere a lot of laughs too. The food was so good at bagus restaurant that the following night we went for diner it is the best bal8nrse food in Kuta. It is a must if you go to Kuta to do these cooking classes with chef bagus but you must go also at his restaurant warung bagus in Kuta. Jean claude and Nerina 🍾👌👍😁😜🍽🍽
