So unusual to be in Fernando's home, and a lovely experience at the top of his building and on his patio facing the cathedral. Wow !! Excellent. His description of the origin of the dish and its humble ingredients was interesting, and he simplified the usual recipe and guidance to a straightforward process to repeat the original Valencia dish. Bomba rice is the secret, but apparently Arborio is a cheaper substitute for non--Spanish, either way, a lovely communal dish to be shared. The 7 of us "shifted" nearly enough for 12, with nice wine, Sangria and company, as well as the setting sun onto the Cathedral's walls. Ohhhhhh....A very personal and special experience, a wonderful evening. Thank you.
This paella experience was awesome Fernando is the most amazing host. Taking the time to teach how to properly prepare paella shows his dedication to his craft. Along with the story telling subtle jokes and a little history he made the experience more than just cooking.
We booked this cooking class to kick off our first night in Seville – it did not disappoint. Fernando exceeded our expectations and was so knowledgeable and passionate not only when teaching us how to make paella but also learning about the city surrounding us with the unreal rooftop views. Absolutely would recommend this class to anyone visiting Seville… it’s a must-do!
