Authentic Mayan Tortilla & Sauce Cooking Experience

It was a wonderful experience learning Mayan cuisine, and it was delicious. Our cooking teachers were locals Rebecca and Betsy, who expertly guided us through a wonderful local dish, which we helped prepare.

Rebeca is an incredible human—full of a wealth of knowledge and so happy to share her love of food and the history of Guatemala. Even better, she's supporting so many amazing local vendors with her work who are thrilled when she arrived because she's connected with them in such a respectful and thoughtful way. The tortilla-making workshop and lunch with the sweetest family is something that will forever be etched in my mind as one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Despite being alone and speaking very little Spanish, I felt so incredibly welcomed in their home. I've taken many food tours in many countries, and this one tops them all. It was SO good that I decided to join Rebeca for the evening tour she offers, and it was just as incredible. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else. You won't find a better experience than this.

We had a great time on this tour! The market was fun and the food delicious. Our guide, Xoshil, was wonderful. Making tortillas at the end was also a lot of fun. I definitely recommend this tour if you're in Antigua.
