Seoul Foodventure

I'm staying in Mangwon neighborhood for a month, and this was one of the first things I did. On the way to the market, the host Rachel talked about the neighborhood and pointed out the original traditional housing, which I appreciated. She also pointed out a small family restaurant that has a traditional Korean meal, which we did later go to, and it was excellent! While shopping for our supplies in the market, she also explained some items that foreigners may not be familiar with. The class itself was fun, anyone from experienced cooks, to people who never cook, can enjoy. And it was delicious!

It was such a great experience with Phoebe and Cheolman ! We visited the Mangwon Market and learned about different foods and shops. Then we started cooking 3 different dishes : Bulgogi (so good !), streamed eggs (really delicious and funny to see how tall it can be), and kimbap (perfect for this weather). Phoebe explained everything and showed us how to do it. I love how we did each step. We also enjoyed the food together with the other people.

Phoebe was such a great teacher showing us around the local market buying the ingredients we would need to cook. It was very hands on and the dishes we created are ones I will definitely be making when we get back home.

The food we made was delicious and Phoebe was an amazing teacher and host. We loved chatting to her about Korean food/culture and exploring the market too. The studio is located in a convenient spot near Mangwon station and it was very cozy and pleasant to cook in! We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for less touristy and crowded things to do in Korea :)
