We loved our cooking class and experience with Na. She was super knowledgeable and we learnt lots on our tour of the market, cycling, garden tour and in the cooking class. It exceeded all expectation and we loved it!
Watering and plowing the fields on the farm Let's go shopping at a traditional Vietnamese market. I went to cook and had fun cooking with the kids. The kids were excited, and the food was delicious!
Excellent experience for my parents and girlfriend.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide spoke English fairly well. Had a few jokes to tell as well as keeping us very well informed both at My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An.. Lunch was delicious and plentiful We enjoyed this trip very much and did shopping for some souvenir and amazing scarf in a visit to a local factory. We recommend to everyone who wants to see Vietnam like a local.
We were picked up from our hotel at 10am. Once we arrived at the location, an English-speaking guide was waiting for us. After a welcome drink we were introduced to the chef and the menu that we were going to prepare. We were in a small group of 6 people with 2 supervisors, which ensured that everyone received a lot of personal attention. Dishes were fun to prepare and delicious to eat afterwards. You prepare so much that you don't finish it all afterwards. The activity lasted about 2 hours and you will receive a recipe booklet as a souvenir with the dishes you have just prepared.
We messed up our spring rolls but he re rolled them without any problems. They accommodated all food allergies and diets, including vegan. Pickup and drop off went without a hitch. Definitely recommend for a no frills educational experience.
The class was tailored to our dietary requirements as there were vegetarian or non- vegetarian options. Mr. Quan was great in demonstrating to us how the dishes are cooked and fixing it as required and providing us with gloves, utensils, cleaning the bench every time and sharing alternative options in the absence of right ingredients overseas. Quite frankly, we were surprised with how good the food was that we cooked. The hotel pick and drop off was very comfortable too.
A car picked us up and drive us back, we did the coconut boat ride first, where the local showed us crabs, coconut seedlings and was very nice. Afterwards we started preparing four dishes with other participants. As we were the only vegetarians, we got to make our vegan/vegetarian versions while the others cooked with meat. Afterwards we all ate together and got the recipes:) I am very happy we got to cool authentically, though vegetarian/vegan.
Absolute lovely! Started with an amazing boat tour with a super friendly women who helped us. After the boat tour, we started cooking. Never made something this tasty before
Highly recommend, the cooking was really fun and delicious. the location was beautiful. the boat ride was so cute and fun.
Me and my boyfriend took the cooking class. We got lucky and it was just with the two of us. We had an amazing time learning delicious recipes from Lily, at the end we got to eat our creation and we both ended up with a satisfied and full stomach. She even gave us a recipe book so we can keep making them at home. Before the class we took a trip on the famous coconut boat and we got to row it ourselves! The lady steering the boat even made us some rings from bamboo....
The instructor taught me very well. It was my first time to make homemade Vietnamese coffee. It was such a special experience.
It was high quality time with professional teacher! If you want to know the secret of a perfect Vietnamese coffee this is the right workshop for u!
It is my expectation to get know more of Vietnam coffee n u can make coconut coffee/salty coffee/egg coffee. we also had good cheat with those girls. We enjoyed so much!
Absolutely amazing day. Loved it! Well organized, small group and amazing host. He was attentive, great communicator and great with our boys.
Great experience, first a short visit to the market, fun tour with the basket boat including a small fishing experience, then a cooking course with 4 dishes, very interesting and very tasty. Only to be recommended!
The bicycle ride to the vegetable village was challenging and interesting. The vegetable farm was big. We learned how to make the rice paper crispy. The cooking class was marvelous and the dishes were yummy. We enjoyed the class and the lunch. The bamboo boat ride was nice.
The itinerary is very rich. The driver and tour guide are kind and friendly. We arrive at the hotel on time and then ride bicycles together to experience the fields. Then the boatman of the basket boat made handicrafts and gave them to us. The final cooking class consisted of 4 dishes that were easy to operate, simple and tasted delicious. It was an exciting and enjoyable.
This was a wonderful family friendly morning of new experiences, learning, and gentle exercise removed from the crowds of Old Hoi An. Long, our most competent, and engaging guide, led our small group (5) by bike into the rice paddies of rural Hoi An to a rendezvous with, and ride on, Lức, a young, working water buffalo. From there we biked on to an excursion in traditional basket boats and were given the opportunity to share in the paddling. Upon landing, we had the pleasure of preparing and consuming a tasty four course lunch of Vietnamese dishes under the close supervision of Long's brother-in-law chef. Long was the perfect guide for our full morning of learning and laughter.
We had a wonderful time biking around Hoi An to the vegetable village and then to the crab fishing and class location. Our guide was very friendly and took us to the home of some local farmers who had us practice some farming techniques on their property and showed us how to cook rice cakes. We then took a beautiful bike ride through some rice paddies and shrimp farms and other crab fishing in a basket boat. We cooked a four-course meal which turned out to be fun and absolutely delicious (the meal we cooked in class was better than when we ordered the same dishes later that night at the restaurant).
This is the very wonderful trip in Vietnam. Our travel agent - Ai Thuy Dang is a humorous and friendly girl. She knows everything in Vietnam, about food culture, geography, etc. Her English is fluent and easy to understand, you don't need to worry about misunderstanding of the translation. I highly recommend this local food trip to whom visits da nang. Trust me, you will not want to miss it.
Trung and Josh were absolutely great! They were informative and it was a fabulous night. I would highly recommend.
Tour guides were so friendly and accommodating! Lots of laughter, tried many delicious traditional meals. The trip was very well organized by the lead guide who provided just the right amount of time and breaks in between stops. This food tour was also coupled with a great tour through the city!
I can highly recommend this walking tour of Hoi An Old Town. Barry, our tour guide and Hoi An local, provided great knowledge and insight about the various sights we visited throughout the town and was a very warm and gregarious fellow. He also recommended a great restaurant to try afterwards too!
Our cooking class took place at a nearby stilt house overlooking a small crab bay. Qui showed us traditional techniques used to dehusk rice, produce rice milk and fresh rice paper, and she let us try it. She then showed us how to prepare 4 traditional Vietnamese dishes: 2 types of spring rolls, rice pancakes, southern-style vermicelli and Hanoi-style pho. She provides a cooking book at the end of it. Please notice that although this is called ‘Da Nang cooking class’ this is actually held in Hoi An because of Covid. We were surprised about this, but Qui arranged transportation both ways. Totally worth it!
The 2 girls were very friendly and informative. We really enjoyed cooking with them and will be using the recipes when we return home. This is a most enjoyable and entertaining experience and I would recommend it. Be aware there is plenty to eat , so go hungry.
I absolutely loved the cooking class! From the farm to the market, to the cooking and eating, it was all a wonderful experience, and in fact, my favorite activity and memories from Vietnam! I went on Christmas day, which would have been a very lonely day for me in a foreign country, but the experience with the cooking class helped me feel like I was enjoying a holiday with family. The instructors were funny and knowledgable and spoke great English. They were always right there when you needed them, and allowed each of us to experience the process of cooking. We laughed a lot, at ourselves and at each other! I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to enjoy the food and a little culture of Vietnam!
There was great energy and laughter, and the food was delicious! I went there alone but left with many friends! I highly recommend this awesome class!!
The tour was fun and the guy was very nice... we are a family of 3 with a 7 yrs old child, n the little one has great fun with the buffalo ride, it was a true adventure for him
Thoroughly enjoyed the day, an authentic experience with (expected) level of tourism targeting but not over the top. Cooking component was well organised, engaging and tasty! Our chef, Van, was full of energy and had us entertained!
The spring rolls are very delicious, Zhong Jinguo came forward to the restaurant. Fresh fish soup is very good. The chicken wings are also very delicious.
This is a great opportunity to learn about Vietnamese cuisine and culture at a local family. Our class size is 9 people so the entire course is very personal and you are able to get hands on at every cooking steps. We will not just give you step by step instruction on how to make the food but also give you an insight into local life. The dishes you are going to cook are authentic and not too time-consuming. Ingredients are easy to find. This class will help you show off your new Vietnamese cooking skill to your family and friends when you get home!
You can get much more than a cooking class. While you will tour a local market, organic vegetable garden, a great Vietnamese coffee, a fun cooking session, you can also get: the warmth, hospitality and the atmosphere of a Vietnamese meal! We will make you feel like a home away from home
Classes are completely hands-on. You will practice cooking with Vietnamese secret cooking techniques. We will present a cooking demonstration and provide tasting samples. At your personal cooking station, we will guide you through the recipe step-by-step.
Our family is happy to cater to your food allergies or food preferences. Please email us your food requirement. We will confirm with you the substituting dishes or ingredients. Private cooking classes can be organized to meet your party’s need. All vegetarians are welcome.
