This family-owned vineyard welcomes visitors for very pleasant tasting meals. The setting is nice, and the welcome and service are friendly. To fully appreciate the wines being tasted, they serve a plate composed of high-quality charcuterie, cheeses, breads, vegetables, and a good dessert. The Lacryma Christi is indeed of good quality. The one I preferred is the superior red, a characterful wine with notes of red fruit and spices, and a good length on the palate. We also visited the cellar, which is ultra-modern and well-maintained, just like the trellised vines, with their rose bushes at the head of the rows! If you want to buy Lacryma Christi, this is a good address, but the prices are not cheap.
Can't recommend the cooking class with Ester highly enough. The setting on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius is breathtaking and Ester is a wonderful teacher who makes you feel right at home. We learned to prepare traditional dishes and enjoyed them with the family's organic wines.
We stopped at Cantina Del Vesuvio winery in the afternoon on our way into Sorrento. It was a wonderful wine tasting and lunch experience. Delicious olive oil, red wine vinegar & wine. The food they served was great as well. All in all a great experience!

We chose the classic tasting "Lacryma Christi" at the Vesuvius Winery. Arrived on the spot (beautiful), welcomed us with a welcome sparkling wine and overwhelming sympathy, our guide Carmine, who made the guided tour very pleasant and professional at the winery and its vineyards. Then we sat down at the table and began our tasting. Genuine and delicious products accompanied by the four Lacryma Christi glasses, as expected. Very professional and polite staff, overall beautiful experience that I highly recommend to do. Sabrina and Francesco.
The most welcoming, wonderful visit from the moment you arrive. The most breathtaking views and staff and friendly and knowledgeable. We had the most gorgeous paring lunch and the wine is just outstanding! They offer a short tour before you sit down for lunch and it was such a lovely experience!!

We did a guided tour with Giovanni, who accompanied us with professionalism responding to every need. Our most sincere compliments to all the staff, kind and prepared on all production lines; friendly and prepared staff in the room, excellent dishes served. You particularly appreciate the attention to organic and the exaltation of the native vines, vinified in purity. We'll be back. Highly recommended.
Visiting Cantine del Vesuvio is much more than a simple tasting: it is a total immersion in a corner of paradise, set in the heart of the protected area of the Vesuvius Park. From the first moment, Maurizio - an exceptional person for passion, hospitality and authenticity - makes you feel not a customer, but a special guest, as if you were at the home of a long-time friend. All products are absolutely natural, the result of meticulous and respectful work on the earth. Each bottle tells a story, each sip of wine reflects the love and care with which the grapes are grown, harvested and transformed. The tasting area is simply spectacular: sitting among the rows, with Vesuvius behind and the Gulf of Naples before your eyes, you can taste extraordinary wines combined with exquisite, typical dishes prepared with local ingredients.

Giovanni, Ester and everyone here are so accommodating and friendly. My family and I have had the best time staying at the Vesuvio Wine Cottage, winery and vineyard tour, wine tasting and a private cooking class with Ester. Amazing!!!
We had a marvelous cooking class with Ester! Food and wine were perfect! The location is right on Mt Vesuvius. Staff is friendly and helpful!
Owner/chef Ester gave us a special tour and allowed us to make a four course lunch in her home at the winery. We were in awe and loved making gnocchi and eggplant Parmesan. The wine and hospitality were great. We bought 5 cookbooks and I would go back in a second to try more food there.
Thank you Ester and Mariana! We took part in a cooking class and wine tasting, what a fantastic experience we had! Including olive oil and red wine vinegar with the best bread. All at the base of volcano Vesuvio.

Wow. Just wow. This place is absolutely magical. The vineyard sits at the bottom of the volcano. Picture perfect location. The wine tasting is divine and the food to die for. The owners make you feel at home, very warm and welcoming, the staff is kind and competent. You walk in and leave your worries behind. You get to relax as you are enjoying a sublime tasting and sensory experience. This place should be on your bucket list. 10/10
We enjoyed our wine tasting! We were pleasantly surprised that the pasta we ate was as delicious as the wine pairings. This was a wonderful treat after our Pompeii excursion.
What an amazing experience! Not only was the wine fantastic but so was the meal served with the premium tasting. It was an experience like we have never had in the states. My wife and I cannot recommend a stop here more highly . Any if you are fortunate you will have Carmine as your tour host!
We had a fabulous time here on the last day of our honeymoon! A very special and private tour filled with fine wine & great staff. We shipped bottles of everything we tasted back to the U.S.! So good, support this locally owned business if you're in the area!!
Our visit was to gain knowledge regarding the wine industry. The tour began with a brief though informative walk through the vineyard closest to the wine bar. We continued to the processing center then to the storage area for aging the wine. Afterwards we were treated to a wonderful wine tasting of the wines produced on site. This is an organic vineyard and generational family winery offering superior wines.
We came in 2017 with our entire family of 7. Today, we visited as a couple. So, the new “wine club” is perfetto. Beautiful views from the ocean and Mount Vesuvius. The wine and pairing is exceptional, come hungry, there’s plenty of food. The wine vinegar is exceptional. We bought 2 bottles. Great deals shipping wine back to the USA.
What a great experience we had. First to see Mount Vesuvius is spectacular. What about the visit to the vineyard and the meal that followed, it made our day very satisfying. These are the best tomato pasta we've had in our lives. Absolutely delicious. What about wines, just sublime. It’s a pity we can’t bring it home (we’re from Canada). We recommend this visit
We went to this lovely winery after touring Pompeii- Had a lovely lunch with wine tasting. The wine was very good and the atmosphere was delightful!
What a beautiful end to our week in Italy! For our travel day back to London, flying out of Naples, we decided to spend the day in Pompeii. After an amazing and informative tour of the Scavi di Pompeii, our host Lorenzo arranged for us to have a wonderful winery tour, lunch and wine tasting at the Russo Family's beautiful Cantina del Vesuvio. We were warmly welcomed by Carmine, whose effervescent and joyous personality set the tone for an incredible experience, right on the Southern slope of Mt. Vesuvius. We could not decide what we enjoyed more - the delicious food, the informative tour, the gorgeous view and breeze from the terrazza, the perfect wine pairings, or the kind hospitality of our gracious hosts. If you have the opportunity to visit Pompeii, please treat yourself to a lunch and tour of Cantina del Vesuvio.
10/10 would recommend. Incredible views over the coast and Vesuvius, with excellent food and wine. The winery tour at the start of the visit was fascinating and the whole trip was made extra special by the host, Carmine.
We went on a wine tasting tour at Cantina Del Vesuvio, and Alfonso drove us from Sorrento to Mt. Vesuvius. He was incredible! From great recommendations to singing for us in the car, he truly gave it 100% to make sure our trip was exactly what we wanted. He even taught us about the history of what makes the food in the region so amazing (and where to get these fresh fruits/veggies for cheap)! I cannot say enough about how special our day was thanks to Alfonso.
Writing this tipsy, giggly and overall blessed to have experienced such a beautiful lunch at Cantina Del Vesuvio. Me and my boyfriend booked the supreme tasting & didn't have an empty glass from the moment we left the car. Carmine & everyone were the most friendly, welcoming hosts. The food was amazing, make sure you have the bread and olive oil with red wine vinegar, to die for! We highly recommend visiting this Winery on your trip to Naples. Faultless experience! Thank you so much.
Great experience outside of Naples. A very hot week in Italy and touring this winery made the day so memorable. Transportation from and to our hotel provided. We had a tour of the winery and a set menu with wine pairing. Suggestion for the staff to share the pairing of the wine with the first course. There were three wines to have with the cheese, cured meats and pickled vegetables. We were told after we started digging in and the third wine with the first dish was being poured. Love the family pride with this place. Got to meet the owner, and owner's father this day. Brought back some memories - the chicken water pitcher is a highlight and conversation starter.
Experience to try absolutely... the estate starts from half of the slopes of Vesuvius , normally starts with a welcome drink, follows the tour of the property with all the explanations on the vines and the local winemaking tradition... follows lunch on the roof top and finally you can take home or send a souvenir of the day (read purchase of wine , balsamic vinegar, oils and even a body cream from the grape variety). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED+++AAAAA+++++
We loved it, very good experience, delicious wine and excellent service! The place is romantic, charming, quiet and I would highly recommend it.
We came for wine tasting with lunch and it was worth it. Beautiful setting on the foot of Mt. Vesuvius. The food was excellent and the wine pairings perfectly chosen. A wonderful experience right at the heart of the Vesuvius National Park.

Fantastic winery! This winery is set right in the foot of Vesuvius. The views are spectacular. The food and wine is delicious, the service is friendly, and the overall atmosphere is terrific.
This was one of the best days we had of our 2 week trip to Italy. As part of going to Positano from the train station we chose to stop here. It was the perfect way to start our voyage down there. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to lunch at the owners house. Ester was so nice. We had a great time chatting with her. They brought us out an amazing tray of meats, cheese, breads, tomatoes among other things. Her homemade balsamic vinegars and olive are to die for. We then moved to a different table where she made us first course ravioli, second course eggplant and meatballs. She even brought us more meatballs out. Then an amazing dessert to finish. This all included wine pairs and she was not shy about giving us extra. We loved everything so much we ordered some wine and balsamic to be shipped back home. Great experience. Thank you Ester you made our day.
Having spent more than a week in the Amalfi and Naples area, we were moving on to Roma, but not before a visit to the ruins at Pompeii. In consideration of the traffic to Rome and wanting to eat before getting to the city, our driver/guide suggested a tour and lunch at this winery. We opted to tour the winery and vineyard before enjoying lunch. The vineyards are beautiful, particularly with Mount Vesuvius as the backdrop. A great guide, with flawless English, shared details on their wine making operation, varieties produced, history, etc. The tour lasted about 20 minutes and was informative, engaging, and enjoyable. Lunch was served upstairs in an elevated dining room that overlooked the vineyard. A four course meal with paired wines was outstanding. An antipasto, pasta dish, and fish entree were all perfectly prepared and each accompanying wine was poured with an explanation of its character and flavor notes. Very good food with great wines and outstanding service - a simply spectacular visit.
Today I had the pleasure of spending the day in this superb wine cellar. Not only had I already sensed at the reception that I was in paradise, but the rest of the day also continued in the best possible way. In particular I must thank Carmine who followed us throughout the entire journey. Absolutely worth returning
Food and wine were absolutely delicious! Service was great. The views from the vineyard and the rooftop could not be beat
This was my second visit to this winery. My last was in 2012, and it was just as good as I remember. I went with a few friends, some that drink and some that don't. I loved the option for those not doing the tasting to enjoy a great meal. It was honestly one of our favorite in Italy. We also loved that we could get free shipping with a 200 euro purchase, which we did easily. I can't wait to go back!

WOW Fabulous wines, amazing views and wonderful people! Oh how I wish I could go back every week! We were immediately greeted with a delicious glass of white wine!! The food was excellent as well! Thanks Carmen - you are a great host! Would highly recommend this place and would so love to return one day!

This was a relaxing end to our Pompeii tour that showcased 5 wines for tasting. You had the choice of "classic" or signature wines for the tasting. We also had a chance to sample the house made olive oil, which was yummy! The vineyard was unique as it's organic and does not use sulfates. I personally am not a connoisseur, so I was not especially wowed by the wine. However, some in my group appreciated the sulfate free wine and bought it as gifts. The view from the rooftop of the winery was also picturesque, adding to the atmosphere.
We went to the vineyard to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. It was a beautiful day, beautiful views, staff were attentive and provided candles and sang Happy Birthday in English. An excellent experience all around. Amalfi Coast in the front and Vesuvius in back. Just lovely.
We just had the most amazing lunch and wine tasting here. What to do with a rainy, foggy January day? Well, wine tasting by the fire, of course. Delicious lunch with an informative wine-tasting by the charming and beautiful Juicy (not sure about that spelling). Even in less than ideal weather, the setting was idyllic, the views lovely, and the food and wine, delicious. Highly recommend! We hope to come back for another meal, more tastings, and their cooking class!

On our way back from touring Pompeii our driver recommended stopping at Cantina del Vesuvius and it was an excellent suggestion. After a tour of the vineyards and processing center we had a tasting of 5 wines with an extensive food pairing. They also have their own olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Does it get more Italian than drinking wine, eating pasta at the base of Mount Vesuvius! The wines were very good and bought 2 bottles to take home, along with the oil.
This was a wonderful find. I was searching about Lachryma Christi and found this winery. Their wine tasting and lunch deal was much cheaper than any other winery tour. The site is beautiful below Vesuvius. The 6 superior tasting was well worth the extra 10€.The three course meal was superb and the tasting notes given verbally with each course was helpful. If you like food and wine this is not to be missed
Great experience our guide; Carmine was excellent. + You felt very Welcomed. + wine 5/5 + You were also able to shop at the end and send the wine home with free shipping(over 90euro in Europe) + we got to taste some extra wine at the end while we were waiting for the taxi. + you can call them and they will come get you for the tasting and they will also drive you to the train station afterwards! - the wine proportions were slim during the tasting which would have been fine if they actually described the wine more than just saying a little bit and the alcohol percentage. So it was more as a good wine and food experience rather than a tasting.
Wonderful atmosphere , Wonderful service. Wonderful experience. Definitely i will return! I recommend this place if you enjoy good food and wine!
This was my second visit to this winery and it was fantastic both times! The food and wine are consistently delicious. The staff was so lovely. Carmine in particular was a lot of fun!
This trip to the winery was not on our original agenda but recommended by our driver who took us to Pompeii. Turned out to be another unforgettable experience! We were warmly greeted upon arrival with a glass of wine. The tour to the vineyard and brewery was fun, educational and informative, and the beautiful view of the volcano was just phenomenal! I even got to keep a small piece of volcanic rock. Less to mention the six courses of generous wine tasting and delicious pasta served. An amazing place to visit for sure!!!
This was one of the highlights of our ten day trip to Italy, I am so glad we made it. The wines were delicious but the lunch was one day forge best we had and the price was unbeatable. So peaceful and beautiful. Don’t miss it. Thank you so much to the team who made it such a wonderful experience.
The lunch was plentiful and we enjoyed learning about their wines. We ordered a few wines from here since we enjoyed it so much. I would definitely recommend visiting in summer since everything was inside due to the weather being cold.
This was an excellent experience for our family including those starting on their wine tasting journey to find wines they enjoy. We got to see and experience grapes picked from the vines, learn about how their wine is unique, and see where it is produced. We then had lunch tasting paired with wines. We tasted 6 wines in total and red wine vinegar. All were excellent. The food was amazing. We also captured some great family photos. The staff were excellent at providing one on one experience, and sharing information about the wines, how to pair them with food. We are now part of the wine club and shipped additional bottles home. Thank you for making our family experience delightful Carmine.
What an amazing experience! Not only was the wine fantastic but so was the meal served with the premium tasting. It was an experience like we have never had in the states. My wife and I cannot recommend a stop here more highly . Any if you are fortunate you will have Carmine as your tour host!
Cooking with Ester at Cantina del Vesuvio winery was a highlight of our trip to Italy. Great hands on experience as our host shared her culinary secrets. Fabulous wines!
Cooking with Ester was one of the best experiences we had in Italy. Great food, great wine, and the best people! I 110% recommend!
The lunch and wine tasting was wonderful!! We also did the cooking class. It was a private cooking class with the family of vineyard. Wonderful food and just to chance to see into Italian lice.

Giovanni, Ester and everyone here are so accommodating and friendly. My family and I have had the best time staying at the Vesuvio Wine Cottage, winery and vineyard tour, wine tasting and a private cooking class with Ester. Amazing!!!
My husband and I had a private tour (we didn’t book it private but ended up that way) of the vineyards and the cellars. We were greeted with a glass of rose wine. After learning about the wine making process, we had a delicious lunch and wine tasting on the terrace overlooking the Bay of Napoli and Vesuvius. We had a starter with meats and cheeses paired with olive oil, red wine vinegar, and wine. Then we had pasta, again paired with wine. Then we had a ricotta cake dessert paired with dessert wine. Overall we tasted 7 wines. This was a lovely detour on our way to the Naples train station. I would highly recommend!
We went as group of 4 and we immediately were impressed by the property and the fantastic view. We had a tour of the wine yard with the knowledgeable guide, we talked about organic wine productions and their way of making it. the best part started when we sat at the table one by one great glasses of wine were coming to us, explained by the staff. the food was even better a nice choice of local recipes to pair with the wines. I would recommend this experience to all especially if you are on the route to the nearby attraction of Pompei or Ercolano. Great job guys!
Welcome to Cantina del Vesuvio! Experience our unique wines, born in the shadow of the volcano.
More goes into our Lacryma Christi wines than just grapes. Tour our 6 hectares of vineyard, planted in the volcanic soil on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. Meet Maurizio Russo, the youngest of this historic family of vintners. See how our family has worked these hills every day since 1948 to create a winery that combines the rigors of organic production with the warmth of Italian hospitality. We only produce a limited number of bottles a year, all of which are sold directly from our own wine shop.
