The test of Istanbul Kindess Friendly Hospitality
This was fast pace but super fun, the chef will only go at the speed if she knows you can handle it. We were given 4 different menus and you can choose what you wanted to cook which was brilliant. After cooking we sat down to eat what we had made. The class was informative and really fun. Totally recommended to anyone!
We had a very nice evening learning to cook some Turkish dishes at Alaturka. The chefs were very friendly and helped us cook 5 different dishes. Afterwards we all sat down and enjoyed our 5 course meal. A fun night for sure!
We were a small group, and were allowed to do nearly everything when cooking our lunch. Everything was done at quite high speed and some things had been prepared beforehand by the cook. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to try their hand at Turkish cuisine!
Turned out to be a 1 on 1 course due to the lack of tourists because of security environment. The hot yogurt soup is a must (would've never made it if I was looking at recipe book) - delicious. Great time and very hands on - just round the corner from the blue mosque.
Very professional, hands on and fun. a must if you have a day spare. a few wines later and could not believe we made our own Turkish food. Tried the recipes at home and was just as great.
This restaurant operates a cooking school for those wanting to learn about authentic Ottoman cuisine so you can be confident in their mastery of the dishes they offer. They generally offer two different four course fixed price options although they are flexible about mixing and matching. They are more than vegetarian friendly, imho, they are actively helpful and often have off menu vegetarian dishes available. Do not miss the Imam Bayaldi, an Ottoman dish. It is probably the best version you will ever taste and considering the elaborate preparation that's required you'll probably never make. Kudos to Chef Rocco! You deserve every success.
It’s one of my favorite things I did for my short trip to Istanbul. Great hospitality, wonderful staff, tasty yummy tradition food, and great experience plus very good location. I definitely will try their other classes. :)
My first cooking class out of italy, good food , good organization , traditional turkish recipe and a very friendly and professional staff! recommended
I took this class a couple of weeks ago and I received a wonderful cooking class. I learned how to cook various Turkish and Ottoman Cuisine from scratch such as Yayla çorbası, Zeytinyağlı taze fasulye, Ispanaklı saç böreği and more. If you would like to experience the traditional Turkish food in a relaxing and friendly environment during a short stay in Sultanahmet, this class is highly recommend! :)
