We offer hands-on Japanese cooking classes to spread the culture of traditional Japanese cuisine, which has been added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2013.
You can learn from the basics of cooking to professional Kaiseki cuisine.
For example, you will learn how to make Dashi (soup stock), how to make Sumeshi (sushi rice), and how to use Japanese cooking utensils, so even beginners can have fun!
Experience the healthy and traditional Japanese food culture, which brings out the original flavor of ingredients, provides excellent nutrition balance, and also helps you enjoy a long life and keep you in shape.

The class was an exciting experience as Yoku explained a lot of background on Japanese culture and table etiquette, of course besides all the insides on the preparation of the dishes we cooked. Pleasant class in which we learned how to prepare a dashi, a proper Japanese rice, made our own mochi with a strawberry inside, and learned how to properly behave in a Japanese restaurant. The chef was super nice and answered all kinds of questions. Overall, a nice experience and opportunity to meet a local chef in Tokyo.
We had a wonderful day learning and cooking with Yuki and her family at her restaurant. A very personal experience where we learnt the tradition of cooking, eating and drinking. As someone who had no knowledge of Japanese cuisine, it was easy for me to follow the guidance of the instructor. I learned how to create Japanese dishes. It was fun!
We had an amazing time at Toki Tarazu! Our sensei taught aus a lot about japanese ingredients, how to use them, about traditional dishes with entertaining stories and historical context. She was professional and "working" together was very fun. The Sake tasting together with our cooked dishes were fantastic. We will never forget our experience and would do this again any time!
Great way to learn more about kaiseki cooking and japanese etiquette. The lesson was hands on and you were encouraged to try all the techniques shown. Recipes were easy to follow for beginners. The classes can be tailored for professional chefs. We had 2 kids and there were able to participate in most of the preparation. We prepared the traditional new years dishes and it was a wonderful way to celebrate the new year. Thank you for a most memorable experience. Highly recommended!
