О нас

Japanese home-style dishes are healthy and yummy. During this class, you will learn about authentic Japanese home cooking and the food culture of Japan. Let's enjoy cooking, talking and tasty meal! I choose easy and tasty dishes so you can recreate at home as well.

Karaage is also popular like gyoza. Simmered vegetables, seaweed, Japanese omelette, fried salmon, edamame, daikon radish pickles with yuzu, spicy cucumbers, etc. We have many dishes in Japan.

The class is vegetarian-friendly, everyone can enjoy the class together (fish dish, too)! Please write down your dietary preferences on the detail page.

After the meal, let's go to a supermarket. I show you Japanese seasonings, fruit, ramen soups, sweets, etc. Kitkat has various tastes in Japan. Ramen soups are liquid, it's perfectly different from powder. Japanese pears, persimmons, mikan (Japanese oranges) don't seem to export to other countries. These are all very tasty. I will help you if you want to buy what you want.

"Very enjoyable"

Emi speaks English very well, and has prepared a simple but very tasty Japanese menu for us to cook. All aspects of the meal were covered, and the ingredients used were explained in detail. She even had extra things for us to try that were not on the menu! We learned a lot about Japanese culture apart from cooking!

"Home cooking class"

Very nice class. Our teacher speak very well English and give us good advices not only about cooking but also about Japanese habits and what foods we must try. Très bon moment. La prof parlait très bien anglais et nous a donné des conseils également sur ce qu'il fallait goûter et les habitudes des japonais !

"Very personal and simple to follow with a good explanation on traditions"

We found Emi to be very proficient in her home-run cooking class. My wife found the traditions and history to be of great value. We appreciated begging part of a home-style event and found the courses easy to remember and to prepare for ourselves when we get home.

"Amazing - highly recommend!"

Emi is a wonderful host for a cooking class! She has plenty of very interesting stories and conversation giving a fascinating insight into the life of a local in Tokyo. She is very patient and helpful with teaching you how to make the dishes and introduces you to extra items she has in her kitchen e.g. different teas, putting lots of thought into choosing the ingredients based on your dietary requirements and tastes. I had a really great evening, thanks Emi! I will definitely be back on my next trip to Tokyo!

"Good but not what we expected"

Emi was lovely, and the experience to see a traditional Japanese home was great. The class was less of a class and more of watching Emi cook and then having a chat. We have done several cooking classes around the world and this class was just very different to our experience elsewhere. If you are open minded and don't want to focus on cooking everything from scratch yourself then this is a good class, but it was very expensive for what we got. Also you have to specify if you want gyoza which is slightly unclear from the description, and you dont get the recipes until you leave a review!

Emi will meet you at the exit of Nerima station, holding a signboard ‘Emi's kitchen’. Nerima is 20 min from Shinjuku and 30 min from Ginza.

You can take metro line: Oedo, Seibu-Ikebukuro, Yurakucho or Fuku-toshin lines to get there.
